Yay for me…I have my first Christmas present done…

A few ladies mentioned in their comments how far behind they are in getting ready for Christmas… well, I believe I just might take the trophy!!! I’m not going to dwell on what can’t be helped, but rather be happy for the small things I have done that brought Christmas cheer to someone.
I took 3 bags of Christmas goodies to the clerks at the Post Office and they were overjoyed!
I left a bag of goodies for my mailman…he’ll be thrilled too! He’s such a good mailman, delivering all my dolls and boxes.
When I was at the Goodwill the other day with Bithar, she saw a baby crib and said she hoped it would be there for a few more days. Well, I told my hubby and he went the next day and got it…we delivered it to them today and they were beyond thrilled!

So, that’s what I’ve gotten accomplished toward Christmas…EXCEPT for my one present! It’s for my brother…well, it’s mostly for his boys…but he gets just as excited as they do.
I put together another “Cool Spoons in a Box” for them after one of my nephews asked the last time he was here, if I could do another box like I did last year for them… how could I not???

Here’s a look at last years box and the post, (HERE) if you’d like to read it.

I found lots of goodies for their box this year and remembered to include the maraschino cherries and hot fudge! Gotta have those two things to make a really good sundae!! All they have to do is supply their favorite ice cream!

I bought the beautiful box at Joann Fabrics… (60% off!!!) It is very elegant and I think Jennifer will like it.

I’ll have to see what kinds of things I can get accomplished tomorrow! :o)
Thanks for sticking around even when there isn’t any sewing! I had some fabric laid out and was hoping to get one more dress made before the end of the year, but that’s looking pretty slim right now… I keep telling myself, it’s just a season in my life, it’ll be over soon… :o)

Hope you’re getting a lot done!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Post office personnel. Milkman. Mailman? I hadn’t thought of that. It’s not always the same person — perhaps they could divide something? Or at least a treat would make someone’s day nicer. OK, I’ll think of something.
I made progress yesterday. I’ll see what I can do today.
Isn’t it nice when you do something one year and it’s such a hit that people want you to do it again? I’m glad your nephews love the cool spoons box — how could they not? I send Jacquie Lawson advent calendars to friends. My friend Nikki’s grandson was hoping I’d send another to their house — he loves seeing what the day brings before he goes to school. There have been no opportunities to smash ornaments this year, which is sad, but there are other things to explode, which is consolation.
I’ll be sad when Lian’s picture in her beautiful Christmas Snowflakes disappears, but for now, isn’t it pretty on your current auction on Ebay display. Maybe some month that’s slow, if there ever is one, you and Rebecca could create monthly slide shows, perhaps based on some of the slide shows you’ve already created for us. There are all those slides, and they deserve to see the light more often. But not this month. This month there’s plenty to do for a whole roomful of cloned Jeannes.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
It’s truly wonderful when you give something and the kids love it as much as the mom’s and dads!!! My brother is coming to pick up momma on Friday and take her home to their house, so I’ll give him his box then. It’s too heavy to ship and everything would get all mixed up anyway…
I am so far behind…and REALLY could use some clones of myself!! BUT since that’s not gonna happen…I’ll have to enlist the help of my hubby…he’s actually doing some Christmas cards right now…a much better person than me… Oh well, I’ll do better next year…but I think I said that last year!! EEK!!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. You always have the BEST ideas for gifts, games, you name it, Jeanne! Baking treats for the people we depend on for various things is one of the very best Christmas traditions we have. It’s like we are giving little pieces of ourselves to others to enjoy. I don’t know about others, but our mailman cannot accept monetary gifts or even gift cards, so the cookies and candy work well, and who can complain about getting sweet treats?

I love the idea of the Cool Spoons box! It’s the gift that keeps giving–for awhile at least! That is a beautiful box, I haven’t seen any like that lately, but it would be great for storing special Christmas decorations in.

I’m excited to see the blog with everyone’s dolls in it! I could have sent more pictures, but I want to see the others have a chance to shine too.

    1. Hi Linda,
You are so right…who can resist treats at Christmas time?
I like those big boxes too…and have 2 that I use to store my patterns in, 2 have my tulle and slip making fabrics in them, 1 holds my vintage hankies, and one has my fabric and acrylics in it… they are both decorative and functional…
I’m still working on the dolly pics…got a few more today…
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Christmas is the season of giving, and you have certainly blessed others with your generosity. I an picturing that sweet baby all stretched out and comfy in her new crib:)

We will have plenty of time to get back to our sewing after New Year’s.. I’ve got 4 new dolls that are going to want clothes:) Until thrn … just breathe and enjoy!

    Merry Christmas, Jeanne❤️????

    1. Hi Shara,
Bithar didn’t have any crib sheets so I picked up 2 sets today…didn’t make it to her apartment, but maybe I can tomorrow. I got PINK! :o)
I am trying to relax and enjoy, but I actually had to MAKE myself put away the fabric that I was hoping one last dress from…I’ll start fresh in the new year!
      Thanks so much, Shara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. You always have such great ideas! Like Linda, I hope you’ll use at most just two of the four pictures I sent as it’s time to see other reader’s photos. The others were just for you to see what’s up with my dolls. Can’t wait to see more pictures of dolls all dressed up. Thanks to Rebecca for helping organize the pictures for the blog.

    1. Hi Susette,
I know I couldn’t have done this slide show without Rebecca…she is VERY computer savvy!!
      Thank you, Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Jeanne, may you always be blessed for your goodness. George too. You both are such generous people with your time and hard work and helping others out. It makes me feel good reading about all you do. I’m sure many of your readers are the same in their generosity to others. Your blog is a lot of goodness besides the fun of your articles and topics. And the readers replies are always so interesting and kind. Your post is wonderful.
I like Marilyn’s comment of “cloned Jeanne’s”. That sure sums it up for me!!!

    1. Hi Paula,
Giving is easy to do when you get back love in return. Most of the things we do, have “fringe” benefits…we are blessed that we can bless others… I can’t imagine any other way of life!
Thank you Paula, I appreciate your kind words.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I’m amazed at all you can fit in that Joann’s box. What a haul! and a great gift.
Well, at least I mailed the Christmas cards yesterday. More like New Years cards. Now, need to wrap the gifts for the grands and load the sleigh. Hee hee. At this point, still not sure what we’re bringing in the food category, but it looks like I’ll be making chocolate swirl cheesecake unless I defer to Costco. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
George is working on our Christmas cards while I’m working on something else.
I need to think about what we might have for Christmas dinner. ..haven’t got a clue right now. Yikes!!
Boy, oh boy…how did this happen? I guess moving my mom had something to do with it…
I’m not gonna worry about it…I just feel bad that I didn’t have more to offer my readers…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. That is a beautiful box and it is filled with such wonderful treats! I know I would love receiving such and thoughtful present.
I can just imagine Bithar’s excitement when you delivered the crib. I bet it was exciting for you too.
I’m behind in everything holiday related so I should get to it.
Hope you have a good day.
    Take care –

    1. Hi Charlotte,
Oh good…I’m not alone…we’ll have to start a “Behind for Christmas ” Club…at least there will be 2 members in it…you and me!!!
      Hang in there, Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. My dear…you are not alone..I have a ton of gifts to wrap…and for some reason I didn’t keep a good list of what I had for each one. Between kids and grands it is 20 people…what was I thinking? Still need to do Cinnamon rolls for friends and familytoo.
Getting that baby a big bed is an awesome idea…she’s getting big
I’m sure your brothers family will love that box of love and fun.
Yikes…I better get busy, days a wasting !?

    1. Hi Kathie,
Well, FIRST I need some presents to wrap…you are at least one step ahead of me…
Oh yummy, my sister, Cindy, always makes homemade cinnamon rolls!!! Hope you get it all done!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Well I think I will be wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve! I’m still waiting for some of my online orders to arrive, and if they don’t make it in time, I’m going to print out a picture of what I ordered and wrap that with an IOU. It’s been a really hectic year, and I will have to do the best I can. I love the ice cream sundae gift box, and I’m sure your nephews look forward to it. It’s just so sweet of George to go get the crib for Bithar. What a servant’s heart he has.

    1. Hi Carolyn,
I think a picture with an IOU is a good idea if your things don’t come in…it just means Christmas will be spread out a little longer…
What could be wrong with that?
      Thanks so much, Carolyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne
