If you know your American Girl timelines, you’ll know 1774 represents Felicity’s era. She is the doll who has the privilege of wearing beautiful Colonial dresses in all their glory.
Laura, one of my readers, has been pushing for Felicity to be the next model for one of my dresses and I thought it was time to listen. I have decided on a simple dress in a pretty peach cotton with a small leaf design. I found this sweet hankie and plan to incorporate it into the dress. The colors look very pretty next to Felicity’s peaches and cream skin tone.
I want to start working on it right away and hope you’ll like what I do with it.

I loved yesterday’s post, both yesterday and when it came out. It took me a long time to realize that you should have tested the slide with water and tried sliding and splashing. You would have been very popular in the neighborhood that day.
Felicity gowns are always some of my favorites. I know, I say that about everyone. But I do look forward to Felicity’s turn, and I think the peach is lovely for her. You have a whole collection of wonderful laces, it will be fun to choose some.
Today is our Farmers’ Market, I need to go early because it gets hot and crowded very quickly, but it’s always fun and the food is good. I hope you have something lovely to look forward to today, though just resting from your week might do it. Take care — I’ll look forward to Monday and seeing your progress on the new dress.

If we had tried it out, then we would have had to wait for it to dry… after tugging on it all afternoon, I was ready to get it boxed up… We certainly would have been the talk of the neighborhood! :o)
I didn’t pick any laces last night because I wanted to see them in the daylight! This one will be fun to make… I hope!
It’s 86 here right now, but the heat index makes it feel like 93. I helped George mow the grass and then I decided to clean out the inside of the car… I mean, really clean it out… I was melting so I pulled it over under some trees to make it a little cooler. Every once in a while a breeze would blow through the car.. that was nice!
I hope you found lots of goodies at your market. I haven’t been to ours yet this year…
I have to give George a haircut and then I’m going to take a shower and cool off… then I hope I can squeeze in some sewing time… Tomorrow looks to be full from morning till night. My younger sister, Deb and her hubby are coming in tomorrow evening. Then we will celebrate Father’s Day Monday evening. Rebecca had to work on Sunday…

Oh, so pretty in the peach colored fabric! Yes, Jeanne, she looks just wonderful in peach, and you do have all those pretty laces to add to it. I’m wondering what or how you will incorporate the hanky, but whatever you do, I’m sure it will be just perfect! Your Felicity is one of the prettiest ones of the PC dolls that I have seen. Lots of them have washed out coloring, probably due to age.
I would absolutely love to see a new gown for Felicity! My poor girl hasn’t gotten a new dress since I made her brown church dress —when was that, last year or the year before? I do not care for the dress AG has for the new release of Felicity.
Guess what? As you know, we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this past December, and for that we are planning a trip to Williamsburg this fall! Maybe I will see some “Felicity” items while there!

I can’t wait to get into my vintage laces and see which one looks good with these fabrics…
I just love my Felicity too, but I’m thinking of washing her hair again… it looks a little dull and I’d like it to be shinier…she does have very pretty coloring to be an older doll.
Your poor, poor Felicity… she does need a new summery dress! I was just looking at the Felicity’s last night on Ebay and saw the new Felicity’s “emerald green?” dress and I didn’t care for it much either. The one I pulled up had such a crooked neckline, it was terrible. I don’t think it was just the way the seller had it on the doll…it truly looked crooked.
If I didn’t congratulate you on 50 years back in December, which I probably didn’t… I will now! Congratulations… that’s a real testimony of a wonderful marriage! And congrats on going to Williamsburg!!! I am positive you’ll find things there! You better take an empty suitcase… :o)

Oh the upcoming peach is going to be a real winner. Wonder what they enjoyed in that era to keep cool? No ice cream for sure.
Probably going to hit 100 today. Was 95 inside early last evening. Must get going and water the yard.

I’m not sure they may have enjoyed as a cool treat… I’ll have to see if I can find out…
We didn’t hit 100, but the heat index may have… I was vacuuming out the inside of our car and using armour all on it, cleaning the windows and the all the dusty areas… I don’t know what possessed me to do this on one of the hottest days of the year! Oh well, for Father’s Day, we’ll have a nice clean car!
