Which Chalkboard Plaque is your favorite?

I’m sorry I didn’t get your comments answered again… I read them all and wanted to comment myself, but I just didn’t have time. My hubby was not feeling well at all today and there are things happening with my mom and I just wasn’t able to get to them. I’ll do my very best to answer you when I can, but if end of the day there are no comments from me, just figure I had a busy day and couldn’t. You know I want to…but some days I just can’t.

Now that that’s taken care of… I can move onto the blog post for today… it comes to you courtesy of my sister, Cindy. Yesterday was so busy I was sitting on the couch talking with my hubby and realized I had no idea what I was going to talk about for my next post… All of a sudden my phone starts dinging and my sister Cindy saved the day for me! She sent me pictures for this post! Thank you bunches Cindy!

She has been chalk painting wood plaques for her hubby’s work party that was last night. Someone cut the wood slabs and painted the black centers with chalk paint and then my sister painted with a chalk marker… 67 of these! I know…It’s incredible to think about!! She is so talented. She ran out of chalk markers on Friday and had to drive to Baltimore to get more… to finish them by Monday evening.

She sent me the pictures of what happened when they were all laid out on the tables and then they let everyone come and pick out the one they wanted. I love the pictures and wanted to share them with you! Oh..did I tell you she was talented???

Here are all the plaques laid out on the tables…

If you click on the pictures they will enlarge.

…and this is what it looked like when they “turned the people loose” to get the plaque they wanted… I’m imagining something similar to the doors opening at Best Buy on Black Friday…and the people rushing to the tables… but maybe it really didn’t happen that way… :o)

Here are some shots of all the designs she did… aren’t they wonderful?

So, you know I was going to ask you…if you rushed up to the tables, which one would you have grabbed?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

(Thanks again Cindy!)

  1. I do look forward to your comments, but I also understand that your life is pretty full right now and it’s fine if you don’t get to them. What a lovely entry you had yesterday — all those super pictures and a recipe that looks really great. I must be hungry — all those plaques remind me of lots and lots of chocolate pies.

Which would I pick? There’s a mistletoe one I like, and one with mistletoe and a snowman and 2 trees, but my very favorite one is the tree 3 from the end on the right side of the second picture. I was very surprised it didn’t go first.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
We are back home…no chemo today…George has a bad urinary tract infection and they want to do an ultrasound of his bladder and kidneys on Thursday. So he’s getting off pretty easy for Christmas week I guess!
I just told him what you said about the plaques looking like chocolate pies…he agreed with you…they do!
Very nice choice for your pick…wish it was yours…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Hello Jeanne, I’m a new follower of your blog. Your sister is very talented indeed, what a wonderful job she did! The calligraphy and the drawings are beautiful! I would be happy with any of these, but I like the ones with a snowman very much.

    1. Hi J.J. and a very big welcome to my blog,
I hope you enjoy yourself…I am very blessed with some wonderful ladies who comment on a regular basis. They will welcome you and make you feel right at home.
My sister really is talented and I’m so glad you enjoyed what she shared.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. “Baby it’s cold outside” is probably most appropriate – but, I really like the one with the multiple hanging ornaments. 🙂
I agree with Marilyn – I appreciate visiting your blog daily – and leaving comments so you know ‘we are out here’ – but, certainly know that your ‘real life’ is overwhelming at times. Be kind to yourself – we understand. (((((((((((((((((HUGS!)))))))))))

    1. Hi Mary,
The one “Baby it’s Cold Outside” is certainly the most appropriate right now. The sun is shining here but it’s still cold.
I like the one with the hanging ornaments too and tried to make it as big as I could to see what all she had put on it… it’s really neat looking.
Thank you for your kind thoughts Mary,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Hugs too, Jeanne….I know that you’ll put your family first and their needs…excellent. Although it is gives me great joy to read your blog posts and you consider us your friends, your family is most important…your mom, your husband, your children.

Rebecca’s photo the other day was just superb…what a wonderful child you have in her.

The photos of others dolls were just a lovely bit of holiday cheer…thanks to those who sent them and you, Jeanne for posting them. And your sister’s plaques! My goodness, she’s been super busy and creative…I would have chosen one with the word NOEL on it although they all have their own special merit.

Prayers today for you and George at treatment time.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you so much Becky,
I appreciate your very kind words so much.

I guess everyone prayed so hard today, he didn’t have to have a treatment. Actually he was too sick with a UTI to get chemo so he’s trying to be happy that he gets Christmas week off…although this sets him back a week…
      We are still blessed…
      Thank you Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I’ve often wondered what we, your followers, would do if we set out to answer every one of the Comments! A blanket answer at the end of the day would be fine with me, but I can’t speak for others. Hope everything goes as well as it can as you can concentrate on your family.

The wood plaques are wonderful. What a talented sister you have. Creativity certainly runs in the family. Caring does too. Glad Cindy helped out by sending the pictures for today’s post. It was so nice to see people selecting them. Can’t believe she made 50. I would have chosen “O, Come Let Us Adore Him” in the last picture, bottom row, left. Thanks for sharing her talent.

    1. Hi Susette,
I’ll maybe take your advice and try to leave a comment at the end of the posts if it’s a busy day. I think I could do that.
Susette, Cindy actually made 67 plaques! I just can’t imagine doing that many. I sure would liked to have been in the room and heard the comments. I like the one you picked too.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Wait, I already put my dibs on the one with the truck and tree in the back! Ha
Aren’t they lovely to see all arranged on the tables. How fun for everyone. Oh, that talented Cindy.
Must get those presents wrapped for the grand kiddies. Bought the ingredients for the chocolate swirl cheesecake yesterday. Must make the raspberry sauce and fruit plate topping too. Saturday will be the big day for those. Lots to do…

    1. Hi Joy…
Oh yes, that Cindy sure is talented and since you put dibs in on the car with the tree on top a few days ago, I’ll just consider that one yours! :o)
You are miles ahead of me with your Christmas plans. I hope you gets all your things finished… have fun with your family.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. These are wonderful! I like the “let it snow” in the snow globe, but there are so many excellent choices. Were they all different? I am impressed. Such beautiful work.

Sending prayers to you and your husband.

    1. Hi Kathleen,
I think she told me she had a few duplicates but not very many. I love the snow globe one too…
      Thank you so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. What darling plaques Cindy made, Jeanne! Oh, I absolutely love them all! Let’s see, if I could pick one, it would be the one that says”Oh Come Let Us Adore Him, but I like the Noel one too, with the pine spray, and that truck with the tree in the back, just adorable! Well, as you can see, I might go on here all day, but I have to stop at three! It depends on what room I would put it in, so that makes a difference.

I can’t remember who, maybe Joy?, that asked if my doll kitchen was Wolverine. Yes, it is, and I had the exact same things when I was small, which is why I bought them off Ebay. I only need a sink, since I have the stove, refrigerator and a cabinet, but it is hard to find one that goes with what you already have. They have aged and the colors are not always true on the monitor. Well, I do have Kits wash machine, so I guess that can do double duty!!

    1. Yes, it was me. I have a Little Chef stove only. Very much like my one from childhood. I had the Wolverine as a kid. All the parts including the sink. Loved that set. Especially the electric stove. Used to make instant mashed potatoes, chocolate, and little cakes. Neighbor boys loved all I cooked. Eventually, the set went to them as they liked it as much as I did.

      1. Hi Joy,
I’m glad you knew all the answers because I sure didn’t. I’m glad you have such fun stories to tell…
        Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Hi Linda,
I’m glad Cindy shared her pictures with me…I’m not sure what I would have done if she hadn’t sent them.
I see Joy has commented below about your doll kitchen props. I don’t know anything about those kitchen pieces…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. I enjoy reading your blog, but haven’t commented in the past. Just wanted to tell you how gorgeous these plaques are. Your sister is quite the artist. Thanks for making my day.

    Madelon

    1. Hello Madelon,
What a perfect day to make your first comments!! I hope my sister sees this and it puts a smile on her face…it did mine.
I’m so glad you njoyed seeing her work!
Don’t make this your only comments…do so again…any time!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Cindy..you are as talented as your sister. What a fun family!
I like the single snowflake with let it snow….then the old pick up with the tree and…on and on!

Keep sending more pics and Jeanne can have a day off now and then!
    Awesome job!

    1. HI Kathie,
I hope Cindy keeps sending me pictures too! She was a life saver yesterday for me!
I’m glad you enjoyed them and found “your favorite!”
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Charlotte Trayer

My favorite is one no one has chosen so far! In the second picture, it’s the one with the church, to the right of which it says “Come let us adore Him” and underneath it says “For unto us a Child is born.” It’s in the second row from the top, third from the right.

Of course, I love almost anything with snowflakes, too, but that particular one is my favorite.

Prayers for healing of George’s UTI, and for you, too, Jeanne–you have so much on your plate right now! If some day you should post something like “Life just got overwhelming, go ahead and talk about …..” I’m sure we’d all be fine with that. You have to sleep Some time, you know!!

  12. Hi Charlotte,
I saw your comments and wanted to let you know I saw them. I do like the plaque you picked too. It really was fun to see them all spread out at one time wasn’t it?

My hubby is better and life is better for me too. When he hurts, I hurt.

I do like your idea of what to say on those busy busy days and you might see that one of these days. I am very blessed to have such wonderful readers who totally understand when things get too hectic to carry on…but as long as I’m able…I will…

Thank you Charlotte for your kind words!
    Blessings, Jeanne

  13. I pretty sure I couldn’t narrow it down to one, I LOVE them all!
Perhaps some day your sister could do a tutorial on how to do this, including how to cut the wood, and paint them. I’m curious how whomever ( that painted them) got his/her edges so perfect!
