“Patsy, what are you doing up? It’s late and you should be in bed…”

cimg4622

“I just wanted to look at it all again…really, tomorrow I get to put it on and you’ll take pictures of me? Promise?”

“Well, Patsy, that’s the plan…” :o)

Here’s another look…

cimg4630

I had enough felt to cut out the crown of the hat, but not the brim… so I made it from the dress fabric. This is all I had left. Whew!

If you want to see Patsy all decked out in this pretty ensemble, you’ll have to come back tomorrow!

(Don’t forget…my Civil War dress, “Music Lessons” ends this evening on Ebay! You can see it by clicking HERE.)

Hope to see you,

  1. Love the new choice of jacket and the more delicate embroidery on it–much more in scale with Patsy! And you were able to “squeeze” a hat out of your scraps after all!! I’m looking forward to seeing how it all looks on her!!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I like Patsy’s new jacket much better than the white one too. I appreciate your sweet comments.
      Thank you so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I love it when success reigns with scraps! 🙂 I’m glad the outfit has ‘come together’ – wonderfully – as usual. I really enjoy your blog! in my long list/inbox – I always look for yours first. 😉

    1. Thank you so much Mary! You almost made me blush with your comments about reading my blog post first each day. I’m so glad you enjoy it.
      Blessings , Jeanne

  3. What a very pretty ensemble you’ve created, Jeanne. No doubt Patsy is knocking on your door this morning, eager to get going with the photo session.

    Blessings.

    1. Hi Becky,
Yes…Patsy was knocking on my door door first thing this morning ready to get into her dress and for me to start taking pictures.
Thank you so much for your sweet comments Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Patsy’s whole outfit is adorable and her hiding behind her clothes in the one picture is so cute and clever. It’s always so enjoyable reading your blog.
Her hat is perfect with the material added. Oh sweet Patsy!

    1. Hi Paula,
It’s nice to hear from ladies like you who don’t even have these little 10 inchers…but still comment. Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. You managed a hat! I think the flowered brim is great. Like Charlotte says, I’m looking forward to seeing how this looks on Patsy. I’m so glad you had the dark blue for a petticoat. When I got the 4th of July sisters’ outfits for Bella (my goddaughter), that was one of her many favorite things — petticoats to go with the dresses.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I don’t know how I managed to get a hat out of the tiny little scraps that I had but somehow the pattern piece just worked! I thought the blue slip might be cuter than just a cream-colored one.
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I just noticed the quilt square is different than my usual one. I wonder if I have two comment areas by mistake.

  7. Wow, you have been speeding along. Very cute outfit and all complete. Love the slip and hat. Looks like Patsy does too and can’t wait to try everything on. Thigh highs are so perfect on the 10er group. I sometimes have trouble trying to slide little tights all the way up to the waist on them.
Dolly reorganizing is almost done and living room getting close. Better be, grand kiddies will be here Saturday.

    1. Hi Joy,
Just call me a regular Speedy Gonzales in my sewing room now. It seems like I can find things much faster now and I think part of it is just being in a clutter-free room that makes all the difference. I’m right there with you on the thigh highs. I would much rather have those then all the extra bulk around the waist with tights. Thank you Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Oh how cute the display of all the elements of the outfit are, with Patsy peeking behind! I hope you use that picture on your listing, and of course, with her also in it! That hat looks just adorable, just the thing for that outfit! So glad you could scrape enough material out of what you had left! The purple teddy bear is just perfect as is the slip, and now I am wondering just how you are going to send this off to somebody else without Patsy making a commotion about it!
By the way, just how big is Patsy?

    1. Hi Linda,
I took your advice and decided to add the picture of Patsy looking from behind the rack in my eBay listing. I made up my story from that. Thank you so much for your sweet compliments on Patsy’s outfit. It was really a fun one to make. I don’t know how I’ll get it off of her but actually it’s on Trixie right now so when she wakes up I might have a fight on my hands. Thank you Linda.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. The pictures are so cute with Patsy hiding behind the baker’s rack. How about that necklace on the bear? Is she keeping it safe for Patsy or is it hers? Rebecca’s contributing again. I like the little bow made with the bead too. I’m going to have to try making a pair of tights. How cute that they repeat the lace at the hemline. They really make the outfit very fancy, especially with the pretty slip. Clever use of the scraps for the little hat. Another beautiful ensemble.

    1. Hi Susette,
No, Rebecca didn’t make the necklace for the bear…it came on her neck and I decided to leave this one. Usually I take the necklaces off and tie a ribbon into a bow around her neck but this time I thought a little sparkly heart was cute.
Thanks so much for your sweet thoughts on this set, Susette. ..I appreciate them so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Aww Patsy’s new dress looks so cute as well as the other pieces. I
think the hat looks adorable with two different fabrics going and that
sparkly little slip– too cute. I’m curious how tall Patsy is, too-
about 7 inches? I can’t imagine making thigh highs for someone so
small. This ensemble came together very quickly.
Yes, it is time for my German Addy doll, but I have sworn off
looking for right now. There have been a number of real life expenses
and I’ve had to help my daughter out with some things as well. Addy
will have to wait until next year at this point. That’s why I’m
planning to make a dress for some dolly fun. I did buy a #33 and she
is on her way. I wanted her wig to be able to swap with Nellie’s as
I’ve already removed hers. She can have two different looks that way –
short for 1930’s and long for another Civil War doll. The wig will
only end up costing me $20 since I already have a person/place to get
rid of the base doll, that’s the only reason I bought her
I’ve noticed my quilt square has changed a few time also which is fun. Maybe
that explains why I have had to copy and paste some posts lately.

    1. Hi Laura,
Oh, I’m so sorry you’ll have to wait longer for your dream Addy doll. I know you’ve been waiting a long time for her…and now another delay.
Patsy and Trixie are 10″ tall. They have chubby little legs so thigh highs aren’t hard at all to make for them.
I bought a #33 one time…but d idnt care for her tan skin with the reddish hair. The doll I got had a neck issue too…her face was tilted down so much you couldn’t see her eyes. I sent her back. I hope yours is perfect! Have fun “time traveling” with your dolls!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Patsy’s completed outfit is cute as can be, Jeanne! The felt hat with contrasting brim ties the hat and dress together nicely, and the sparkly slip is a happy surprise in the perfect shade of blue. I, too, love how you’ve laid out all of the pieces for dressing with Patsy peeking from behind. What a sweet story that will be. I’m sure Patsy will be anxious to try it all on, and I know she will be as pretty as a picture for fall. Her “look-alike” here will love it, too! 😉

    1. Thank you Anne,
Patsy is still sleeping but I’ll wake her up in about an hour to show her what she looks like in the listing. She looks pretty cute…I just don’t know what I’ll say when it gets to the pictures of Trixie in the dress. EEP!
      Thanks so much Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne
