~ Timeless in Turquoise ~ Finally and Completely Revealed!

It has taken forever it seems to get this last Easter dress from cut out to sewn, but I can finally let you know it is all finished, and listed on Ebay, Pinterest, and Flickr! Hallelujah! Just don’t ask me which picture is a true representation of the color… because none of the pictures captures the color exactly! I don’t know why I had such a hard time getting this one right, but there is every shade of turquoise in this listing and then some!

If you click on any picture, it will enlarge and you can see it better.

If you’d like to see the listing, you can click on the top picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

I changed a few things… to make them better, of course!

The hair bow before…

…and after…

I moved one of the buttons on the hips to make it more in line with the ones on the other side. Just trust me it looks better.

I had to find my “accessory” for the set. My sister, Cindy, who lives in PA, had sent me these sweet little Easter baskets and thought I might use them… YEP, she was right! I had to dig out my Easter eggs for my dolls, get my scene all set up and see what it looked like.

I have a piece of green chenille that I use for grass from time to time. This is what it looked like all set up…

Laura was the brains behind this story line. I couldn’t have done it without her knowledge… I wanted so much to use the White House in the background, but ran out of time to get a picture of it blown up. Since Easter is only 10 days away, I absolutely HAD to get this listed tonight…so I went with plan B… just show a picture of the White House and you all would have to imagine it back behind Rebecca. I did get out the only big piece of blue fabric I had… a piece of fleece, and tried to make a blue sky.

I worked most of the day getting things ready for the listing to go on tonight. I had my listing all done, except my main pictures that featured the necklace, and was hoping against hope that “my” Rebecca wouldn’t be too late getting home from work.. She was a little bit late and I was on pins and needles. I’ve learned…”you can’t rush the jewelry artist!” Not a good thing… She finally emerged from her room with a pretty necklace and I was off to get the rest of my pictures taken, edited, and added to my listing…

I managed to get it on Ebay, but it was an hour later than my usual time… I tried not to worry and kept working…

Here is one final shot of the whole Easter Egg Roll on the White House lawn… I hope you enjoyed my many colors of turquoise pictures!

Thanks again, Laura. I truly appreciate all your help.

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. I hope you took time out to watch your auction. The final bid was so late that I thought it might not count. Some Wellie Wisher is going to be very pleased this Easter. Which of the surprise gifts did the winner choose?

This turquoise fabric has been very strange, on some days it looks like cotton and on some it looks like silk, and today the color won’t stay stable. The one thing we do know about it is that it’s very pretty — and so is Rebecca’s necklace. This must be one of the best. The charm is perfect for the dress — you were right when you told us that the other day.

Now I’m going to go look at the auction.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Yes, my Wellie Wishers winner is very excited and it was shipped off today. Some new little Wellie Wisher’s going to be sporting that purple dress pretty soon.
I just took some pics of Rebecca’s dress outside so we’ll see what they look like when I open them on my computer…who knows…
Isn’t the necklace wonderful? I hope my Rebecca always is my jeweler!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I, for one, see this beautiful dress in all the same color in each picture this morning! It is a delicate aqua for me, very pretty and springlike, Jeanne! I love the set-up, the chenille grass is a wonderful addition and so real looking. With the bunnies, flowers eggs and basket, you can’t go wrong with that!
Your Rebecca did a wonderful job of creating the beautiful necklace. I love the way the oval dangle mimics the oval patterns on the lace! The necklace adds just the right amount of sparkle to the outfit and the whole scene is so precious!

I have yet to get on Pinterest, I’m sure I would need an extra 5 hours to my day if I ever did! Making cupcakes today for our church fish-fry, cleaning up and moving back in the kitchen, and getting back to “normal” life today is what I am planning to do!!!

    1. Thank you Linda,
I’m so glad you like Rebecca’s dress. I really enjoyed making this one and hope that some new little American Girl doll loves it for her Easter dress. I have to admit, my Rebecca really does know her jewelry stuff. I love this necklace as much as everybody else does.

Enjoy that new floor! I’m sure you will!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. The turquoise looks the same in every picture on my screen, too. What a wonderful set. The necklace is perfect, egg-shaped no less! Love all the little accessories and details.

I met Joy again on the Little Darlings Facebook page. It’s the first time I’ve posted a picture of a doll on a group page. My Riya Little Darling got lots of Likes and Loves. It’s overwhelming, however, to see all the work that goes into the many different dresses that are posted on the site. I’ll stick with Idreamofjeannemarie.com for inspiration as all the techniques are ones Jeanne demonstrates in her ensembles. Thanks again for the comments and information you all send about Dolls.

    1. Thank you Susette,
I was going to add buttons or bows on rhe dress but when I put her necklace on, I decided it was everything this dress needed.

Susette, you are too kind in your compliments for me and my work…I appreciate all you said and will have to check out the Little Darlings Facebook page. I’ve never seen it.
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. The necklace is the perfect finish to the outfit. It helps frame Rebecca’s face and highlight the beautiful lace on the bodice.
The color stays consistent for me as well although I don’t know if it is an accurate representation of the actual color. It appears quite beautiful.
I love your grass and sky layout for the pictures. Everything for the photo shoot looked so time appropriate. Such a fun story you created with your pictures.
Hope you have a good day today.
    Take care.

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
I can’t imagine what goes on with a real photo shoot. This setup seems like it took me forever to do and get ready for. I’m so glad you liked it.

My sister Deb just got here so I’m going over to my mom’s in a minute…
      Thank you,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Kept looking for the pic of the WH and then realized that it was on the listing. Which looks great and has lots of bids already. Love the basket and your Easter props. Rebecca’s necklace is so perfect as an accessory. Glad you were able to get it listed.
Heavy rain here all night. And yet more Sierra snow. Probably won’t melt until July up there.
So funny to find Susette on the LD facebook page. I kept thinking is that Susette? Then I figured it had to be.
Now I’m wondering who will get the next dress? Thinking you should take a break and go to that favorite antique/junk shop. I’m hoping to do the same today.

    1. Hi Joy,
It would have been so nice if I could have used a blown up picture of the White House in the back ground. That was my goal but that just didn’t happen. I thought a picture was the least I could do to make my storyline work. I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
My sister Deb just arrived in town so I’m not sure who might be next. I haven’t had a chance to think about it yet…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. The whole scenario is stunning, Jeanne. Well done and I hope you slept well.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you Becky, yes I did sleep well last night. It must have been from my long day of getting ready for Rebecca’s dress. Thank you so much for your kind words.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Oh, the outfit is beautiful. I love the color of the dress and Rebecca’s necklace is perfect for the outfit. I think the story of the Whitehouse Easter egg roll is such an appropriate storyline for this outfit. Good idea, Laura! Rebecca is so lucky to visit the Whitehouse and then participate in the Easter egg roll too. What fun!! The basket and Easter eggs are just beautiful too and look perfect for the era. Jeanne, you are just too creative!! Beautiful, beautiful outfit.

    1. Hi Paula,
I never would have thought of the storyline of the Easter egg roll unless Laura had mentioned it, so I’m so glad she did I’m so glad you liked it too. It was one of my more fun photo shoots even though it took a long time.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. You are so welcome, Jeanne. I had a fun time dreaming up the story and then seeing you bring the vision to life. Just beautiful and I am so flattered that you actually gave me credit in the ebay listing itself.
Rebecca in all the shades of turquoise looks just beautiful. Every detail of her dress in just perfect. The necklace Rebecca made is so very pretty and accents the lace so very well.
I absolutely love the little Easter basket. I have a collection of trading cards (Lion Coffee, Arbuckle and Woolson Spice) and paper dolls from the turn of the century. I love the chromolithograph colors. A number of them are for Easter and the scenes are precious.
The whole scene you set up is so sweet. I’m stopping by our antique store today hoping some doll sized Easter items are there.
It’s cold again this morning in the high 30’s, but at least the sun is shining.

    1. Hi Laura,
Thank you agsin for such a fun storyline! I truly mean that! I loved doing it and only wish the White House idea had worked…maybe next year I can do it again.
I went to visit 2 friends in the hospital today and stopped by my thrift store and found a few little goodies myself…they’ll have to wait till next year though…
Thank you agsin Laura…it was a wonderful storyline!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. My dad worked for the Dept. of Agriculture in D.C. and we lived there until I was about nine years old. When I was little, I went to the White House for the Easter Egg Roll, and met President Eisenhower! I was all grown up before I realized that it was a big deal, LOL. Your pretty Easter dress will do well, I’m sure, Jeanne! Your Rebecca did a great job on the necklace, and it was worth waiting for. Hugs, Ali-AliCattDreams

    1. Wow, that is neat, Ali. To actually get to meet the President. Do you still have your commemorative egg?

      1. Gosh, Laura, I don’t know anything about a commemorative egg. If there was one, my dad probably got it, but I was never told it existed or saw one. Did they do those back in the dark ages, LOL? If it was something you had to buy, then my dad wouldn’t have bought it. He was extremely frugal. I remember the lawn being not only very green, but very soft, and what seemed to me like a million colored eggs. I remember the President as being a very nice man, and I can still see his kind face. Not much else anymore. Having a special egg from that would have been very cool. 🙂

        1. I remembered being only about 4 years old, but I must have been 5 because Eisenhower’s term didn’t begin until 1952. Wish I’d have been older as I probably would have remembered more.

    2. Ali,
Oh how fun that we have someone in the group who actually was in on this fun day! Congratulations!!! Thank you for your sweet compliments and also for sharing your story.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Happy Friday, Jeanne! “Timeless in Turquoise” is just adorable! Your Rebecca’s lovely necklace with the oval charm echoes the pattern in the lace bodice, and your spring-like scene with the bunnies and flowers is simply charming. The handmade basket is so befitting of the Era, and Laura’s White House Easter Egg Roll is the perfect storyline. Once again, all the details have come together in an exceptional whole for a beautiful Easter ensemble, and I know the winner will be thrilled with it. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend, and all the best with the auction, Jeanne!

    1. Thank you Anne,
I’m so glad that you and everyone else liked the storyline, the dress, all the props, Rebecca’s necklace, and everything about this dress that makes it even more special than it already is. Thank you for taking time to let me know how you enjoyed seeing everything. I have had a good day and now my little sister just arrived in town so tomorrow will be even more fun than today.
      Blessings, Jeanne
