The SECOND SURPRISE in my box…

I hope you enjoyed seeing my new Little Darling yesterday… (HERE) If you can’t tell, I am totally smitten with her, but I promise I won’t showcase her every time I make something in the next few months…

So you know I waited over 3 years for my new Little Darling to arrive and during that time, Lana, (who painted my doll) and I talked several times on the phone… (usually I was asking her for an update on my doll…) Well, one time I was talking about a dress I had made for Ten Ping, and she wanted to know the name of the listing on Ebay…so I told her and she looked at it and gave me some kind compliments. But while I had her looking at Ten Ping, I talked to her about me doing a new faceup on Ten Ping… and I was asking her about what paints or chalk pastels to use, etc. I actually thought Ten Ping was a bit on the orangy side…and she didn’t have any definition to her lips… Anyway, Lana said she’d redo Ten Ping since it had taken her so long to get my Little Darling done. And you should see how pretty she is… Well, let’s just take a look…

First, here are some “orangy” pics to see if you can see what I mean…

Lana sent me a few pics and I did a little cutting and pasting side by side to show you the difference. I could hardly wait to see her in person…

It’s really nice to have Ten Ping back on my dolly shelf… her sisters have missed her… me too!

Here’s that sweet new face…She’s not a total “glamour girl” but I sure do love her lots now!!! When she was “on the orange side,” it was hard to get the right colors on her…now I think it will be fun to see what fabrics look nice next to her “new” skin tone! :o)

I asked Lana if she could make a lid line near her eyes to give them some definition…

She did it exactly like a picture I sent her and she also painted some extra eyelashes…

Lana told me one of her eyes was smaller than the other one so she cut it out a bit… Yikes…

She also got a sweet mani and pedi too…

Ten Ping noticed the tiny sewing machine and jumped in the chair… and said, “Mom, can you teach me to sew?” Sure Ten Ping, that’s why I bought it!

I’m thrilled to have my 2 new girls home!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Wow, what a difference, Jeanne!! Your Ten Ping is really beautiful now!!

I’ll have to go a take a look at mine, and see if she’s as orange as yours was. Hmmm…

Enjoy your new doll and your “new” doll, too!!

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
I am so glad everyone likes Ten Ping’s new look. I am crazy about her too… she really was orange to me…I’m so happy with her looks…
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh Jeanne, she looks so much “prettier”, not that she wasn’t before, but wow! Those eyes! I too, thought she has an “orangey” cast, but thought maybe it was just lighting or our monitors. I thought she was new when you got her, right? I think her new complexion will look so much better especially with reds, which she looks good in anyway, and now you can put her in a lot more colors without it looking “off”! So happy for you and Ten Ping!

    1. Hi Linda,
Yes, Ten Ping was new when I received her and she was orange from the very beginning. I am looking forward to seeing her in some colors!!!
Thanks so much for your sweet compliments…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. I was a little worried that she’d be pretty but not look like Ten Ping, but once her wig was on, she looked just like herself, just a little more defined. She’s lovely.
Now we know who’s next up for a new dress: Nora, whose dress is in progress; then probably Emmie; and then Ten Ping in a new color to celebrate her new coloring. And then — a blonde or red-head, don’t you think?

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I was worried she’d look too different as well, so I was pleasantly pleased when I unwrapped her from the bubblewrap.
I put on her original wig and she melted my heart…it was a nice surprise…
I worked on Nora’s dress last night but you would never know it…
I can’t wait to sew for my new girls but will have to be patient…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Hi Christine,
I’m so glad you like Ten Ping’s new look…me too…
      Thank you so much,

  4. Ten Ping was lovely before and she is even more so now. Her complexion is certainly improved. Amazing what some time at a spa can do!!
Hope you have a good day!
    Take care.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
Yes, it is amazing what some spa time can do, isn’t it?
I need to book an appointment myself!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Ten Ping is absolutely beautiful and I love how she looks now even more. She looks like she’s porcelain and her eyes are gorgeous. I would have never imagined that she could be changed like that. I agree with you, she’ll look so much better in colors. You made a good decision.
Well, Jeanne, you have two very beautiful dolls added to your group even though little Ten Ping only had a face lift.

    1. Thank you, Paula,
In my wildest dreams, I never imagined she could be so pretty. She looks more dainty to me…
Thank you so much for your sweet comments..
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Nice surprise. I wonder how Lana did that? Do you think she repainted the whole face? Because the eyebrows look so similar. I really like the new coloring, especially with the pink tones. Wish mine looked so great. Glad you got a twofer. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
Yes, Lana stripped all her face paint off and started from scratch…
I’m sure she wouldn’t have looked that great if I had done her faceup myself….but I was willing to give it a try…I’m glad I didn’t have to…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Hi Jeanne,
Well now not only have you been a patient girl your reward for all that patience is a brand new Ten Ping! I’m so excited for you! You must have done the happy dance… at least a little one for each doll. lol… I can’t wait to see what new outfits come out of your studio.
Jeanne I hope you don’t mind me asking again… does anyone know where I can find information on my new (to me) Gracie from Kay Wiggs? She came to me with 2 new wigs (no tags) and a pretty outfit that has a tag that says made by Pj. The outfit had shoes that matched her skirt. I’m pretty sure they are handmade. Anyways I was hoping to buy Gracie some new shoes and replace her eyes but I really know nothing about this doll other than she stole my heart! Thanks any help will be so very much appreciated.
    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. Hi Ingrid,
You better believe I did the happy dolly dance…I looked at Emmie first and saved Ten Ping for second… so I actually did 2 dances…

I know who made your outfit…it’s a lady who sells things under the name Dress Ups by PJ. All of her outfits are filled with lots of details and she makes the sweetest sets…usually lots of pieces to her sets.
I don’t know much about Gracie…I think she is slightly smaller than the 18″Wiggs dolls…maybe someone else can help…
      Thank you Ingrid
      Blessings, Jeanne
