The purple Regency dress isn’t done, so the blue will have to hold you over…

Just a quick reminder… tonight Janie’s little blue and white dress ends on eBay. If you’d like to see the listing, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

Well, it was an overwhelming victory for Elizabeth this time… She won, as they say, by a landslide! She does look very pretty in it and she’s so happy that you all voted for her to be the model on eBay.

I worked on the dress some today, but wasn’t able to finish it and Rebecca wasn’t able to get the necklace made so you’ll just have to see “part” of it done… I started on the headpiece but didn’t get it decorated with the flowers and it’s just pinned behind her neck.

I fooled around with Elizabeth’s hair, but think I might redo it and make the braids a little higher on the back of her head. I like it when you can look at her straight on and see the braids on the crown of her head. She doesn’t look so much like a “peeled onion” to me.

I did get some tiny glass beads sewn on the bodice but I wanted to wait and see what beads Rebecca used for her necklace before I added another color.

So… since I didn’t get as much done on the dress as I had hoped, how about if I share another one very similar to this one…only in blue! Talk about a color making Elizabeth’s eyes pop… this one really did! She looked spectacular on this photo shoot and was all smiles…

I am being whisked out of town today by my hubby, so I won’t be able to work on the dress any today. I’ll have to come up with something interesting to write about tomorrow… I’ll be in the car, so if I get a chance I’ll answer your comments…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. I can see why you are making another dress like the blue one. It is beautiful, and so is Elizabeth! “Out of town” sounds like you are traveling far today; an adventure sounds exciting. Are there any fabric stores or vintage stores on the horizon? Anyway, I hope you have a fun day away.
    Enjoy your day, Jeanne!

    1. HI Cindy,
Actually my hubby and I are heading to Paducah… have you heard of the Quilt Show there? It’s huge and it starts tomorrow, but we are going today because it’s my hubby’s day off. There is also a Harbor Freight Tools store, so it didn’t take much twisting his arm to talk him into going.
I’m also going to meet one of the ladies whose blog I read. It’s called Thistlewood Farms and KariAnne is the writer. I seldom get to meet someone else who blogs…In person… so I wanted to take advantage of this. She is going to be at Hancock’s Fabrics… (not the one everyone is familiar with) This Hancock’s fabric is the largest fabric store in America… KariAnne has a new line of fabrics and I want to see them. She’s a home decorator but I still want to see her “home” fabrics…
Well, my hubby says it’s time to go…
      Bye…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Your photos of Elizabeth (purple and blue) are just lovely. I think she is a great choice for this upcoming, very pretty dress you’re creating.

Ooooo, how fun to be whisked out of town by your husband. I hope you have had a lovely time together.

    Take care.

    1. Thank you Becky,
Elizabeth is a very pretty doll. I remember when I got her thinking how wonderful she’d be in a few different eras. She never disappoints….
We WILL have a fun time together… we always do! Me – fabrics… him – tools! It’s the perfect combination of fun!
      Thanks so much Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Oh, an adventure! How fun for a Tuesday.
I see little blue Elizabeth has those Hawaiian flowers over her left ear! Hee hee. Beach scene behind, Hawaiian wedding. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
I can see how you see Hawaiian with this set too… I wish I could say I planned this just for you, but it just happened that way… :o)
Yes, I love a good Tuesday adventure!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Oh, that blue dress is so pretty, Jeanne! It must be the same pattern as the purple one, with a few variations. Yes, I think Elizabeth’s hair should show above the headpiece too. You do such a lovely job with hair! I wouldn’t be surprised if you did ;have a beauty shop! Yes, I know—–time!

I think a pretty little beaded drawsting bag in matching fabric of the dress would look sweet! It would look like she is going out for a night at the opera!

    Have fun in Paducah!

    Have fun in Paducah!

    1. HI Linda,
Thanks for your sweet comments on Elizabeth’s dress…and yes, that blue one is pretty special on Elizabeth, isn’t it? She is definitely my blue girl!
I am going to redo her braids… they must be higher…

I think a drawstring bag might be just the thing… thanks for the idea…

We DID have fun in Paducah… especially me! but I think my hubby enjoyed himself too…every time I went in some place, he said, “take your time…” :o) So I did!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I really love both the dresses, I think it would look lovely on my Samantha?? Have a wonderful day!

    1. HI Robin,
I think this purple would look good on several dolls with either light or dark hair. I think purple and blue are colors that work for either.
I did have a wonderful day… hope you did too!
      Blessings, Jeanne
