The Giveaway Winners and Felicity’s “Fall Fancy” is Finally Finished!

There’s no sense in me putting anything here first but the names of the winners, because I know you’ll skip over anything that’s not Giveaway related… So without delay, there were 25 people who entered the Giveaway and weren’t the entries for favorite side dishes wonderful! It made me so hungry. Dressing/Stuffing was the big winner and there were probably a dozen different recipes represented for it!

Okay, okay… I put everyone’s name down and shuffled the pieces of paper…

…and then at the stroke of midnight I drew out the first name…

Bonnie Sullivan! I forgot to mention that whoever had their name drawn first would get the white pair and the second name would get the pink pair… I hope that’s okay with the winners… so Bonnie, I’ll send out the white pair to you…just send me your address! :o)

The second name I drew out was…

… Charlotte A. So you’ll get the pink pair… You can send me an email and I’ll get your pink thigh highs out to you as well.

Thank you everyone and a special congrats to our 2 winners!

I thought you might like to see a few pictures of Felicity’s Fall Fancy dress set that has “finally” been listed on Ebay.

I didn’t show the inside lining of her hat on my Ebay listing, but you can see it…

…and here is her reticule with the knots pulled to the inside of the casing…

How about a few pictures of the dress with the yellow linen panel to the backside…

Marilyn suggested we see the dress on a dark haired doll, so I chose Nora, my #55, to do the honors…

If you would like to see the listing on Ebay and read the story line for this dress set, you can click HERE, or click on the picture at the top right side bar…

Don’t forget, Ebay changed categories around and you won’t find my dress if you just type in American Girl Felicity, like you used to be able to do. You can type in American Girl Fall Fancy and it will come up, or you can type in American Girl Felicity Doll Dress and it will come up. Ebay makes us seamstresses who sew for the dolls list our things under “modern doll clothing” so it’s hard to find things sometimes…

Well, I hope you are as happy as I am about getting this dress set listed…It seems I’ve been working on it for a very long time…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Such a beautiful outfit — it’s no surprise that it looks good on everyone!
I’m very excited to be a winner!

I need to get going to work. Hope you have a great day!
    Take care –

    1. HI Charlotte,
Congrats again on winning! I got the thigh highs mailed out this morning! :o)
      So glad you won!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Jeanne, the dress is beautiful. Perfection, and adding the blue reticule added a nice touch. It looks lovely on both girls. I was thinking of you yesterday when I was sewing. I have 5 granddaughters to sew doll clothes for. I remember when my daughter asked me to make some doll clothes for her girls, I replied with an ugh. I agreed to make some because they were so expensive for her to purchase and I had scraps. I’m frugal. So I started out with little skirts, pants, shorts and tops. I made jammies and little dresses. I borrowed a doll from a neighbor to help with the fitting. Well, to make a long story short, after making 75 outfits, I was hooked. My husband said I needed my own doll as he could see the twinkle in my eyes when I was sewing. I thought why couldn’t I use the techniques on the clothes that I always wanted to learn how to do and on fabrics I had always wanted to try. This was going to be so much fun. First time in my 50 years of sewing, I’m sewing for me. I felt a little silly at first, you know second childhood and all. Then I discovered your blog and also read comments from other ladies – I wasn’t alone. I have osteopenia in my neck and can only sew a little at a time. So making doll clothes is perfect, it means I can still sew. I hope as you read this you can hear the excitement in my writing. I feel a new lease on life. This has been hard to put into words, but I think you get it. Thank you so much for writing your blog and for your readers who share with their comments.

    With warm regards,

    J. Lynn

    1. HI J. Lynn,
What a wonderful story you have just told. I am so glad that you feel inspired to sew for yourself now and just think of all those dolls clothes as practice… Remember Practice makes Perfect!!! Your hard work and patience and diligence paid off and look, your sweet hubby even bought you your own doll!
I love this story.. .Reminds me of another reader on here… Susette. She found my blog and started sewing for her granddaughter…and is having a blast now!!!
      Thanks so much for sharing,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Felicity’s outfit is just so Beautiful and your listing is so professional.
    Congrats to the winners.
    Have a wonderful day

    1. HI Leigh,
Thank you for your kind words about Felicity’s dress. You’d never believe me, but I took 105 pictures of that set and had to narrow it down to 25 or so… that was hard!
      I’m glad you like it.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. How fun for Charlotte A and Bonnie S….isn’t Jeanne amongst those we highly appreciate?

Felicity’s (and Nora’s) outfit is stunning, Jeanne. I’m sure the upcoming winner of the auction will more than value their winning. Your work is museum quality.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you once again for your kind words, Becky.
I’ve never had my stuff called anything close to museum quality, but I kind of like that! :o)
      Thank you so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Congratulations to Bonnie and Charlotte! You will love those thigh highs!

Felcity looks just lovely, Jeanne, but she will be crying soon when it is time for her to take off the outfit! Poor Felicity!

I tell you, I must have gained 10 pounds just reading about everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving side dish! Oh goodness, my mouth was just watering! It would be fun to have a recipe booklet from your readers, but I have the feeling everyone will make their Thanksgiving dinner just the way they always have, with their own families unique recipes, and some with no recipes. Some are family secrets and some are just put together, but have to be put together by the right person! It’s nice to know that there is one day of the year we don’t worry about our waistlines!

    1. Hi Linda,
I saw a tear in Felicity’s eye today and I’m pretty sure one of my “girls” told her the dress wasn’t hers to keep… She had this one on so long, she was certain it was hers!

I know what you mean about gaining 10 pounds, but wasn’t it WONDERFUL all the things everyone will be having for Thanksgiving! What an assortment of recipes we have here just among us!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Congratulations to your winners. Know they will love the prizes. So sweet of you to have the drawing.
My senses were definitely perked with yesterday’s outstanding array of delightful dishes for Thanksgiving.
Happy to see the dress is listed. Such a wonderful set that would be a perfect gift for someone special this holiday season.
I’m sure you are a busy bee this week, but save some time for yourself.

    1. HI Joy,
Yes, this is a busy week and it’s already started! It was nice to just enjoy all the recipes being shared yesterday… well the foods behind the recipes, I should say! We have some yummy things to ponder don’t we?
Thanks for the compliments on Felicity’s dress set. I am so glad I finally got it listed… I hope the winner loves it!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Congratulations to the two winners! It is so much fun watching your progress and the type of work you do to pull an outfit together. I enjoy this blog so much.

    1. Thank you Kathleen,
I’m so glad you enjoy reading my blog each day! I enjoy writing it! :o)
I enjoy the “journey” of making an outfit as much as seeing it completed!
Thank you for your very kind words.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Congratulations to the winners! And thank you Jeanne for making such a lovely outfit. As a non-craftperson, I am always in awe at how talented folks work. You made it look so easy.

    1. Thank you Dorothy,
I appreciate you taking time to thank me for what I love to do… sew for dolls! I have been sewing since I was 6 years old and don’t know when I’ll ever stop… I Hope never!
      Thank you so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Congratulations to the winners of the thigh-high stockings! And congratulations to you too Jeanne, for completing such a pretty ensemble for Felicity. I love the little bag and the hat. I saw you lined the hat with the dress fabric—that’s a nice touch!

    1. HI Carolyn,
Thank you for your compliments on Felicity’s dress set. My sister and I were just talking and she liked the lining inside the hat too… it’s a little thing, but I only had that small scrap left and thought it would be better to put it in the hat than to throw it away! :o)
      Thank you again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Congratulations to Charlotte and Bonnie! What a nice start to the day.
    J. Lynn gave me a lovely start to my day. I can’t imagine anything nicer or more inspirational. I hope someday she’ll send some pictures. The world of adult doll collectors and doll clothing fans is huge. You’ll find more people who sew for American Girl on Etsy, where Jeanne has a shop, and still more on American Girl Playthings, where Jeanne sometimes contributes.
I’d love to see this outfit on AGPT, Jeanne. I think lots of people would be interested — Felicity really does need more clothes and I think people would be inspired by this outfit.
I also think that for Thanksgiving, everyone wants their own traditional dishes, but sometimes an addition is appreciated. The green beans with crispy onions is no longer the star it once was, but I still see displays of the ingredients at the grocery, and recipes for re-making it with all fresh ingredients. My brothers-in-law were delighted that my new recipe was the one they grew up with. I’m definitely re-reading that post.

    1. HI Marilyn,
At your prompting, I went to AGPT and posted Felicity’s dress in Merriman’s store and in the Historical Home Ec section. Thanks for reminding me to do that… I meant to last night, but forgot.
I”m not even sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving this year… but I might have to reread the post too and see if there is something I really want to try… if I have time.
Today was a “momma” day and it’s now 10:17 p.m. and I don’t have a clue what tomorrow’s post will be about.. eek!
I better see what I can come up with…
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne
