The GIVEAWAY Winner…

PLEASE NOTE: Rebecca’s “Timeless in Turquoise” Dress set ends this evening. She’s not going to be very happy to take this one off… She thought it was hers to keep! OOPS! If you want to check it out, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click on this link… HERE.

Well, it certainly was fun to learn about everyone’s favorite candy yesterday. You all were great at describing your favorite confections and now I must know who will admit to going out and getting their favorite? Anyone?

If you missed yesterday, I had a Giveaway for a pair of my fingerless gloves. When you commented on your favorite candy for Easter, it registered you for the drawing.

There could only be one winner and that person was Cindy Parkhill!

Congratulations Cindy! Please click the Contact Me tab at the top and send me your name and address and I’ll get your gloves out as quickly as I can… Thanks everyone for playing along…

I’ve been working on more gloves too and I’m taking them with me today. Sorry I’ve been so negligent about keeping them in my Etsy shop! Bad me!

I’m sorry but yesterday was not my own and I’ve run out of time to get anything else together, so this is going to be another short post. I have to get up early or I would stay up a little later and add something else on here.

There’s going to be an Easter Parade in a day or two and I’m hoping to show you how to make some fancy Easter Eggs…stay tuned! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. I don’t know if it was the candy question or the hope of winning the gloves that attracted all the interest, but yesterday’s comments were fun to read. I think I’ll go to the supermarket and tour the candy shelves.

If you, like me, were unaware of the Peeps diorama as an art form, just look it up on Google. There are loads of images, including Star Trek and Downton Abbey. Those are some of the simple ones. I especially like Gulliver’s Travels.

There used to be a dull time of year when nothing seemed to sell on Ebay, so it was a great time to make petticoats, stockings, gloves, and other things we all love, but I don’t think that’s happening this year. You keep sewing and people keep buying. I’m looking forward to tonight — we’ll see how many lurkers there have been waiting to make last minute bids. Good luck on tonight’s auction.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I really enjoyed the comments yesterday too…I thought I’d just get..”my favorite candy is Cadbury eggs or Robin eggs” but I got so much more. It was fun!
I was showing the peeps ideas to George a little while ago. He like the twinkie race cars…

I do remember the slow times but that hasn’t happened in a really long time…I guess that’s a good thing!

I hope tonight’s winner is pleased with the turquoise color in Rebecca’s dress…we’ll see…
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. It certainly was fun to read about everyone’s choices of candy yesterday, Jeanne! Just imagine all the candy being sold now! However, one of my favorite memories of Easter was that we always got a real bunny to keep for awhile in a cage in the back yard. My grandma raised rabbits, and I guess, “loaned” one to my parents for a bit after Easter. My sister’s and I never caught on, but we loved seeing a real bunny every Easter, along with our baskets and new dresses.

Another favorite memory was, that in our neighborhood, the Easter Bunny also left baskets for our friends at our house, and left baskets for us at theirs. Talk about too much candy!!! I have never heard of this practice since way back then, in the 40’s.

Congratulations to Cindy!! You will love those gloves!

    1. Hi Linda,
Ahhh…yes…I remember the farm stores around her dying bunnies and selling them around Easter time….poor things…I bet they were mostly a novelty and didn’t last long…

What a neat tradition to have baskets for neighbor kids…I like that…
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Jeanne, don’t you mean that they dyed baby chicks? I don’t recall dyed bunnies, but I could be wrong on that. But I do remember those poor little dyed chicks!

  3. Congratulations, Cindy!
It was fun reading about all the candy but they all sounded so good!!
Good luck with the auction tonight.
    Take care.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I’m glad you enjoyed yesterday’s comments…I think everyone did.
Thanks for the early wishes for tonight’s auction. I can’t wait to see who gets it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Congrats to Cindy!
    Easter eggs sound fun.
I was in Kohl’s the other day, and they had the two new American Girl dolls. Tenny and Logan. Outfits too. Couldn’t tell if they had sew on underwear or not, but they are both cute. I can see great scenes made with Logan and the other AG doll girls. He is quite handsome.
More rain again in sunny CA 🙁

    1. Hi Joy,
I was in Kohl’s the other day and noticed the 2 Dolls too. I actually picked up both boxes and looked at them. It might be fun to sew for Logan but I think I’ll keep it all girls at my house.
I guess it’s umbrellas for you…just think of the flowers it will water…
      Blessings, Jeanne
