The Dolly Christmas Goodies Box

You may have thought that I only had one “Dolly Toy Box” in the house for my dolls, but I actually have two! One is the Dolly Toy Box and the other is my Christmas Goodies Box. It has all kinds of fun little items in it that only my dolls ever see. I usually get it down about this time of year and start planning who will get the water globes, who needs a little Christmas shopping bag with something in it, who needs an ornament, who needs a book or a candy cane or a puzzle to go with their outfit… If you think they loved the toy box, you should see them in the Christmas Goody box.

It never really gets used up because I add to it all the time. Most people go shopping after Christmas for wrapping paper, cards, and ribbon, but not me. I’m looking for all the little tiny things that work well for props and accessories for my dolls. Tiny little ornaments in just the right size work well for cookies for my girls. Just take off the gold threads or unscrew the little hooks and you have iced cookies or gingerbread men. You can find all kinds of small trinkets that will work for things like cookie cutters or even erasers in the shape of cupcakes.

Here are a few things I picked out for you to see…

…and I’ve been sorting through my fabrics, pairing up some new necklaces that Rebecca made for the dolls with some appropriate colors. I’ve found something for Kirsten already…

and I think a Victorian dress…

and I’m thinking about this pretty green for a Colonial dress…

So I’m staying busy and hope to get that sewing machine of mine flying this week!

See you tomorrow,

  1. I’ve got bunches of those tiny things too. Isn’t it fun? Good luck with your sewing this week. I love what you’ve picked out to start.
To follow my blog, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the home page. This template only allows widgets on the bottom. I don’t like that, but the balloons sold me. 🙂
    Have a great week, Jeanne!

    1. HI Cindy,
I did it… I got signed up for your blog. I also saw that you put your “tags” at the very bottom… Could I ask you what those are really for? I just deleted all mine… they seemed to be too “busy” on my website to suit me…
I guess all sewers have those little things and are always looking for new ones…

  2. Too many wonderful Christmas things to see all at once. The toys/props are adorable, the material is gorgeous and the necklaces are beautiful. Christmas is just around the corner. Yay! Can’t wait to see your holiday creations. Will you and the girls listen to Christmas music while you sew?

    1. Hi Paula,
Thanks for the compliments on my “stuff” and we ABSOLUTELY listen to Christmas music as I sew! I think sometimes I can hear the “girls” humming on the doll shelf! :o)

  3. I love Christmas time. Its so much fun. I don’t think I have as much Christmas fabric as you do. Have fun sewing this week.

    1. HI Judi,
Thanks so much…I love Christmas too!
Not many people have as much fabric as I do… some of my friends used to come to my house and “shop!”

  4. Jeanne, just looking through your stash makes me feel so “Christrmasy”! It’s so much fun to see all the cute little things you collect for the dolls, and the darling pieces of fabric you have on hand! Do you have time to decorate your house for the holidays, or does your hubby do it? You seem so very busy, I can’t see how you have the time!

    1. HI Linda,
Looking at my Christmas stash has gotten me in the Christmas mood too!
I do most of the decorating, but it’s my hubby who has to give me that first push and bring in all the boxes from the garage…
      Blessings, Jeanne
