The Bright Spots in my day….

This will be a short post as I’m still not 100% coherent… too many cough drops, cups of tea, and various other medicines… They need to make a medicine called “For What Ails You From The Neck Up!” I think I’m going to be fine but just not this minute…

The first bright spot in my day was when I saw all the many well wishes from you all. (they actually came all day long!) I was flabbergasted at how sweet and kind your notes were! I felt so loved, even when I looked so cruddy…I know you couldn’t see me, but if you could…oh, my goodness, you’d take up a collection and send me away somewhere! I’m sure of it! My cold has settled in my eyes and I haven’t been able to wear my contacts for 2 days. As I read all your comments and your thoughts and prayers and concerns for me and my hubby, I was overwhelmed at the friends I have made on here… You ALL are truly dear to my heart. It’s funny, I posted a post yesterday saying I didn’t have a post, and I received more hits today than I’ve received since the 2nd week in January! Thank you all very much, from the bottom of my heart…

The second bright spot in my day, was when I woke up from a nap. I happened to walk into the living room just as a white van was pulling in my driveway. I didn’t have my contacts in so I thought it was our pastor. “Oh no… I’m in my nightgown, a pair of sweat pants and my homeless sweater”…. (sorry, I still have that thing). My hubby was gone and I was here alone. I saw a man get out of the van and it wasn’t our pastor. He had a BIG bouquet of flowers in his hand. I didn’t want him to set them on the steps, as it was drizzling a little bit. I buttoned the one button left on my sweater, and opened the door, with my “bed-hair” and my “stylish outfit” on and said, in a raspy throated voice, “These must be for me?” He looked at me and said, “Yes, ma’am!” with a smile! I had no idea who they were from until I opened the card. They were from one of YOU! One of my dear readers had sent me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers I have ever received in my life. I held a yardstick up to it, and it misses being a yard tall by just one inch and has the most beautiful purples and yellows and pink flowers! I was flabbergasted for the second time today! I have never been showered with so much love and concern…(and I just have a nasty cold!)

I hope tomorrow I can do a regular post… but for now, this is it!

See you soon,
Blessings, Jeanne

  6. What wonderful friends you have in e-land, Jeanne. I’m so glad you were surrounded by bright spots yesterday and today. Your post didn’t even come through yesterday so I was unaware of your situation. But, bright spots and a cheery heart can be such medicine, yes? Yeah for all the ladies (possible gents too) who are surrounding you with prayers, well-wishes and beautiful bouquets.

    Blessings.

    1. Hi Becky,
I had written that short post about the crud getting the best of me, in the evening and hit the “scheduled” post, but forgot to hit the “publish” button until 8:30 the next morning.

  8. Such a colorful suprise you had for us today. Love your flowers and hope you recover quickly. A big thank you to whoever sent you the bouquet. It is simply lovely, and your photography skills appear not be bothered by the crud. Perfect photo.
I too have been unable to view posts and had to go to Idreamofjeannemarie.com. No problem though to find and so delightful to read all of the wonderful helpful posts from everyone.
Today is Cinco de Mayo, so perhaps a big dose of Mexican food might spur your recovery. Wishing you well.

    1. Hi Joy,
I’m glad you enjoyed my flowers as much as I did…and am! They really are pretty and so very colorful.
Mexican food sounds good but it was potato soup for me today…oh, and cough drops for dessert!!
      Thank you, Jovial Joy!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Oh, Jeanne, I hope you get to feeling much better today. I didn’t write yesterday because I felt like, “closing your door and tiptoe-ing away” (even though I’m referring to your post) so you could rest and let your body heal.

Your flowers are just beautiful. It is a lovely arrangement. I’m sure that brightened your day along with all the well wisher notes.
Get better. I’m thinking of you.

    1. Hi Paula,
I loved how you tip-toed away yesterday…that made me smile!
The flowers would have brightened up anyone’s day…but I was the very blessed one to have received them.
      Thank you, Peaceful Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Echoing all the “get well” greetings here on your blog, Jeanne and I could not agree more with Susette, who notes you are an amazing and engaging writer and an accomplished photographer, even when you are under the weather! May the well wishes and warm thoughts of all those who care about you send a little cheerfulness into your world and help you feel better. Rest, relax, recuperate, recover, and my you soon be back to doing all the things that you love, especially sewing! Prayers and hugs!

    1. Hi Anne,
I absolutely have to get better and soon, because I have so many people pulling for me. Lots of prayers too!! I am very blessed to have such kind readers!
I haven’t been in my sewing room for 3 days now and it feels so strange. Hopefully, soon, I’ll be in there whipping up dresses for everyone’s dolls.
Thank you for your prayers and I can feel your hugs,
      Blessings to you, Amazing Anne,
      ~Jeanne

  11. Now you have to get well so that you can sit at your table and watch your flowers. Those are truly splendid. I’m so glad you could to to the door and weren’t asleep when they came. Thank you so much for sharing. Just knowing they are in the house will make you feel better.
If you are cold, Mexican food is especially good. It sits inside you and warms you up from the inside out.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I was glad I wasn’t in bed either. I would hated to gave missed getting them. They truly brighten up my dining room.
I do have some tortillas and some Mexican cheese…I might have to see what George and I can come up with….
Thank you for your sweet thoughts…all the time!
      Blessings to you, Marvelous Marilyn,
      ~ Jeanne

  12. What beautiful flowers and what a thoughtful gift! Hopefully you’ll be good as new very soon.

    1. Thank you for the good wishes. I’m hoping for a much better day tomorrow. This is getting pretty old! I’m not one for being down so long!! I’ve got things to do and dresses to sew!
      Thank you, Compassionate Carolyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  13. Glad to hear you are feeling a little bit better. I neglected to mention one thing yesterday. Have you ever tried the Cold- EEZE lozenges? I can promise you they work. The best flavor is the Tropical Orange although the Honey Lemon is okay, too. Your supposed to take them at the first sign of a cold, but they may still help somewhat. Drink lots and lots of fluids also.
My goodness, what a big, beautiful bouquet. That is bound to make anyone feel better.
Know that I’m thinking of you and praying you’ll be better soon.
When I don’t feel well I snuggle with a pet and watch an old movie. Maybe you’d like to do the same. =^-^=

    1. Hi Laura,
I have tried those Cold Eeze tablets before and I must have tried the wrong ones because they were awful. I have practically been living on Ricola cough drops… and yes, lots of water.

Yes, aren’t those flowers pretty? Talk about brightening up a room and your heart…they did!
I sat up last night watching an old movie, “Murphy’s Romance” starring Sally Field and James Garner…while I was sipping Thera Flu thru a straw…:o)
      Thank you, Lighthearted Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  14. Oh Jeanne, it was so wonderful to hear from you and to answer everyone. Now, get some rest, please.

  15. Now we’ll all be stopping by to see how you are. There were some names that I wondered what you’d do with — I was most impressed with Incredible Ingrid and Peaceful Paula.
    Stay warm.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I wanted to put “Manuscript Marilyn” for you, but it wasn’t personal enough… You are such a good writer and I love reading how you word things! Marvelous Marilyn was a much better choice! or maybe Magnificent Marilyn… now you can have 2 names!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  16. Charlotte Trayer

I’m glad you are starting to feel better. Thanks for sharing your surprise with us–the flowers are lovely (and my favorite colors, too!!).

Got a good report about my knee from the doctor yesterday (I had arthroscopic surgery on the 26th); it will take a while to stop hurting, as they had to stretch that ligament and put my kneecap back where it belonged, but he said everything looked good in there. Each day gets better, and stairs get easier (a good thing, as we live in a split-entry house!).

Still haven’t taken pictures of Ten Ping yet–hopefully tomorrow! I’ll email one or two to you.

Keep getting better, so you can get back to doing the things you love!!
