Sorry, another pictureless post…

When I chatted with you last night, I was so excited that Kristoffer was retrieving my pictures from my external hard drive in order to transfer them to “the right places” on my new computer. I went to bed at 1:00 a.m. this morning and my computer said it still had 7 hours to go to finish loading my pictures.

I had to wait all day for Kristoffer to come over so he could finish things up…but he found a few more folders with pictures and documents in them and wanted to make sure they were included.

I couldn’t believe it when he got all the pictures/documents into one file called “Pictures.” Now it was finally time to copy them all onto my new computer. He got it started and then he and Rebecca decided to go see a movie. I watched as the number of pictures and documents kept going higher and higher…until it finally stopped…at 2,229,547 items!!
Now, I’ll say it myself, “Good grief, that’s a lot of pictures!”
I’ve been sitting here at the computer for almost 3 hours, reading a book and keeping an eye on things. It’s at 41% now so I’ll probably go to bed soon…and tomorrow it should all be over!!! YAY!!

I don’t have any pictures again today, as I’m writing this on my phone again, but JUST WAIT….I’ll have all my pictures soon and can hardly wait until I can share some new…or maybe “old” doll dresses with you… hold on just a little bit longer!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Good grief, indeed. But what a lot of inspiration for the blog and for sewing you’ll have. It will be absolutely worth it.
Snow here, but nothing like what they have in Pennsylvania, and even Seattle had a white Christmas, which I understand is rare. You mentioned Christmas movies yesterday. That’s not something I know a lot about — I’m fond of White Christmas but don’t know other classics. You talked about It’s a Wonderful Life. I’m wondering what other people’s favorites are.
I’ll bet you are plotting a new dress even as you sleep. Last year I think Kirsten had a new dress for Midwinter. I wonder what a Midwinter skating outfit for Addy would look like. Or Rebecca.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I posted a bunch of Christmas movie favorite in my post. I usually cant’ watch them all in December, so I watch them also in January when it’s cold. I could probably think of more and will.

    2. Hi Marilyn,
I was texting with Cindy today and she said they didn’t have a bit of snow in Gettysburg. I bet they will soon though.
I still haven’t decided who will be the first one up for 2018, but I’m thinking real hard on it.

It’s been fun discovering some new doll dresses from the past. Some of them I hardly recognized!
      Stay warm and safe.
      Blessings, Jeanne

Wow! That is a LOT of pictures!! But, we can wait!! We can be patient! Hope you had a good rest, and will be ready to start posting pictures again soon!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
It IS a lot of pictures..I have found several duplicates, but there are lots of fun new dresses to show.
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas day.
Ours was one of merriment and bliss. I’m grateful for my loving family. We are packing for our trip and this year, I managed to put all my wonderful Christmas decorations away in one day. All but the tree and it’s lights. My boys will put that away.

Jeanne, what a treasure you have with all those pictures. And what fun for you when you can peruse them all.

    1. Hi Paula,
Congrats on getting your decorations all put up…and in one day!!! Will you be leaving soon?
It was really fun finding new doll dresses….I had completely forgotten about some of them.
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I’m not minding the missing photos too much. I just make pictures in my head with your wonderful writing. I can just see you peeping at the computer over the pages of your book, kind of like not watching the pot until it boils.
Still having cold weather? We’re complaining about the cold and not having any measurable amount of rain.
Hopefully, today I will be able to open the box and pull out my new sewing machine. My after Christmas present. I’ll tell everyone, I traded in the old one and got the next step or two up as the old one was going to cost 300.00 to fix. I’m pretty hard on my machine as I’m grew up with a work horse of a Singer. This new machine will be much better for me as it has a larger work space and two lights! Oh boy!
Marilyn’s idea of a skating outfit sounds like a fun project especially since there seems to be a lot of snow nation wide.
Looking forward to seeing your next dolly outfit.

    1. Thanks Joy,
It’s nice to know every post doesn’t require pictures…but it will be fun to share some new ones!
It’s been a trip down memory lane for me today and I hope I’ve only scratched the surface of some old pictures.
I hope you’ve had fun getting acquainted with your new sewing machine! I hope you like it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Dear Jeanne, No worries about pictures. I echo what Joy said. I just make up pictures in my mind.
I bet you hold the Guinness World Record for number of photos of dolls (smile).
    Have a blessed day!

    1. Hi Dorothy,
You just might be right about holding the recoding for the most doll pictures!!!
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. You’re beloved no matter if there are pictures or not, Jeanne. It’s a gift just to “hear” from you most days. Thanks for blessing us with your presence in our lives.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you for those sweet words, Becky. I’m glad you can enjoy my posts even when I just ramble…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. See, Jeanne? We’re all still here, waiting patiently for things to get back to normal. Ist just a pleasure to hear from you and to know what is going on in your life.
Oh yes, a skating outfit would be nice, but do you have skates for anyone to model in? Or how about a nice winter visiting dress, with a fur cape and cap? Or then, you know how fast time flies, how about a Valentine outfit for anybody? We can dream, can’t we?

And what in the world, Paula, taking down your Christmas decorations already, on this, the 3rd day of Christmas?? Have you had them up long?

Our snow is still here, but going away a little bit………..but boy, is it cold!!!

    1. Hi Linda,
We didn’t get any snow like St. Louis did, but it might be on its way Friday…and it’s so frigid, isn’t it? The weatherman said tonight to get ready for about 2 weeks of these super cold temps! For someone who absolutely hates to wear coats, I’m not looking foread to it!

I’m trying to decide who gets to be up first in 2018. Thanks for your suggestions.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. How wonderful it will be to have all your pictures saved and accessible again. I’m sure we will all enjoy seeing them. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I managed to get to a couple of gift shops about 30 minutes away which I enjoy visiting at Christmas. I found small a set of small glass icicles that will be perfect for the smaller sunroom tree next year.
The one gift shop looked like the day after Thanksgiving when the Christmas decorations are first set up. I guess people weren’t buying as much this year. In comparison, our gift/garden store is picked bare.
I second Linda about a nice winter visiting dress for a *hint, hint * Civil War girl.
We did get a white Christmas with about and inch an a half of snow. It’s bitterly cold here. Woke up to 4 degrees this morning.
Marilyn mentioned Christmas movies, so here goes- It’s a Wonderful Life ( we even watch this in the summer), The Bishop’s Wife, The Shop around the Corner, A Christmas Carol ( 1938 version), The Bells of St. Mary’s, Holiday Affair, A Season for Miracles, Christmas on Division Street, Christmas with Holly, Meet John Doe, Joyeux Noel ( WWI Christmas truce, yeah, I cover it all), Seasons of the Heart, The Christmas Candle, and of course, the Christmas ones of Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons, Happy Christmas Miss King (Road to Avonlea),

    1. Hi Laura,
Your little shops sound wonderful and the kind I like to visit. It’s wonderful that you found something for next year! :o)

I do like the idea of a Civil War dress being first for 2018, but then, I ALWAYS like the Civil War dresses…so we’ll see.

Thanks for the movie list!! I’m writing them down for future reference and I’m ready for a movie marathon!
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. See, missed one – The Christmas Box and although it isn’t Christmas, it’s prequal Timepiece is great also.
