Some Spring dresses on my littlest models… Riley Kish & friends

Spring “officially” started at 6:45 p.m. this evening, but tomorrow (Saturday) will be the first “official” full day of Spring. What could welcome Spring better than a few delicate and dainty dresses on some of my littlest dolls? The pictures are of 7 1/2″ Riley Kish, along with Ann Mei and Nurse Riley. I’m hoping this post will “bring back” the warm weather as it’s been just slightly chilly here. I hope you like them.

If you click on any picture it will enlarge.

Here’s Riley in a bright little yellow dress I called “Scottish Sunshine.”

Okay…did Spring come back yet? Hope it’s nice where you are.

See you tomorrow,

  1. Hi Jeanne,
Thank you for showing your pics of Riley and Ann Mei. They are all so fresh and colorful, like little flower blossoms. It’s funny that you said you didn’t sew much for Riley because in my memory you always had dresses on ebay for her. I mainly crocheted for Riley back then. I never did get Ann Mei, but I did get the tinier baby, oh, what was her name…Avery, that’s it. I still have all of them due to my daughter saying, “Oh, they’re so cute, don’t sell them!” Okay I won’t.
It’s probably even chillier up here in northern Illinois, but we have no snow and it does get around 50 during the day now so I am not complaining at all. Sure beats the snowstorms out east that they got…again. The cooler weather keeps my crocuses blooming longer which I love to see.
Hope you have a super wonderful spring weekend, Jeanne! Yeah, spring is here!!!

    1. Hi Cindy,
I guess I did sew for Riley more than I thought I did. Some people didn’t like sewing for her but I think I had figured out a few patterns that worked well for her. I still have those patterns, just not her… and I think I’d like to try again. I’ve learned a few things since I sold her that I’d like to give a try. I guess I could always make something without it being on a Riley doll. I actually found myself looking at the “nude” Riley dolls last night… Yikes…NO! I certainly don’t need to add another doll back into my collection.

We are a bit cool but I know Spring is bursting to get here…just like we are all anxious to have it arrive!
You have a wonderful weekend too, Cindy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Thank you for the bright springy dresses this morning. Sure does help add some cheerfulness after so many days of gray & rainy skies. I love the lavender gingham dress combo on Riley. I’m not sure I could sew at that small dimensions anymore. It is an art in itself !.
I am so ready for some sunshine and warmth. I should not complain about rain as it has been very beneficial to our lake levels. We have been in a drought for a few years now with some areas being pretty desperate. Some of the pear trees are budding but the rest are holding back due to the chilly temps. Today will only be in the 50’s with more rain in the afternoon but again, thank God for water!!

    1. Hi Jeannie,
Yes, nothing like a few light and airy dresses to make it feel warmer than it is, right?
I sold my Riley and company, so I don’t have her anymore, but I do still have my patterns and could make something I guess. I never minded her small size like some did.

Bring on the sunshine, I say! Let there be warmth! Hope you get you dose of it today…sunshine , I mean….not rain!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. HI Jeanne,
I have a Riley if you want her to do some fitting…you can have her on loan if you want 🙂
Love the multi colored Sundress on her!
Have a super weekend…We have had awesome weather…I just hate to say it too loud for fear it will get cold again!!

    1. Hi Kathie,
I still have my patterns for Riley and I’m pretty sure I could make something to fit her without her being here… I would just have to list the dress by itself though, and not on Riley. Thanks anyway, I’m not sure I want to get back in to sewing for her again… just dreaming I guess.
      Thanks so much though,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Good morning Jeanne,

What darling little dresses and so Springy too. Love the lavender prints.
What background are you using behind the first little girl in the yellow/Scottish Sunshine dress (which is so cute too) ? The picture is neat.

Have a lovely day, Jeanne. Are you going to work on your sewing room today?
Hope hearts are mending for little Scruffy.

    1. HI Paula,
Thanks for you sweet comments about my tiniest dresses. The background was actually a picture from a calendar. Those little dolls could use the tiniest things for backdrops. I sold all my props and things when I sold my Riley dolls.
My day was filled up with a meeting at church beginning at 11 this morning and then that turned into a picnic with some Koreans this evening. I just got home, so no work “so far” in my sewing room.
My heart is mending somewhat, but my hubby is still struggling with losing Scruff. He is missing that walk in the morning with him and then closing up the chickens at night with him. He’s done it for 11 years at least 2 times a day and now it’s just a big nothing for him. I’m sure it will get better, but for now it’s still pretty painful.
      Thanks for asking Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne
