Some polka dotted slips are in the works…

A few days ago I showed you the flower girl dresses I had made for my nieces upcoming wedding.

The prototype dresses I made beforehand to get an accurate fit of the pattern, were made out of just a regular cotton fabric.

The “official” flower girl dresses are made out of a heavier decorators fabric and it’s quite heavy. Knowing how much the little girls twirled in their thin cotton dresses, I am positive they will be twirling like crazy when they have these slightly heavier dresses on. Instead of having someone see their panties, I thought it would be fun to have a whimsical slip made from a polka dot tulle that I found at JoAnn Fabrics. I won’t make them so full that the dresses stand out, but it will just hold them out a bit and make the circle skirt a little prettier. This is what I found…

I’m going to use a layer or 2 of ivory tulle and then a layer or 2 of the aqua polka dots… I’ll let you know how they turn out…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I love it !! The tulle is absolutely perfect under the dresses.
    Let the twirling begin !!!!

    1. HI Jeannie,
I could have just used a regular tulle in an aqua color, but when I saw this, I thought how cute it might look and so I bought it. Yes, let the twirling begin!
      Thanks Jeannie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Erin,
I’m glad you approved of the “soon to be slips!” I think it will look darling under the dresses and as soon as I get them finished, I’ll get them shipped off to PA!
      Love you too,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. So cute, Jeanne! The darling polka dot slips will be just what the dresses need to stand out a bit, and to peek out when the girls are twirling!

Seems funny to write here at this late hour, but I have been busy and tired at the same time! I went to my granddaughters spring concert at school last night and got home late! Then almost overslept for church!

    1. HI Linda,
I’m even later than you are to the “party” but wanted to let you know I am here now… I’m trying to get at least one of the slips finished tonight…

I hope you’ve gotten in a good nap this afternoon…it’s the one thing I didn’t manage to get worked into my day….
Well, it’s almost 9:00 pm so I need to get cookin’ on finishing those slips…
      Thanks for checking in Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne
