Some “Extra” Easter pictures…

Easter came too quickly for me this year and once I realized just how close it was, there wasn’t enough time to get all my pictures in. So, I decided even though Easter has past, I’m still going to share some of my pictures… first a few from Linda and Susette and then I’ll share mine…

Linda dressed her girls in their Easter finery and they do look adorable! Take a peek…

If you click on any picture it will enlarge…

Susette decorated her table in a very “Easter-like” way…

She took a cute picture of her grand kids, Riya and Krish… and said she still thinks Riya believes in the Easter bunny…sure looks like it!

How about some marbelized eggs from Italy and the other ones are from Kenya…

She certainly has me beat with her green thumb… look at this stunning Iris!

…and one last picture of her new Easter house mixed among her other houses on her patio…

Okay, now it’s my turn… I was very blessed by many of my readers here on this blog… First let me show you a few cards…

Look at this card…it has a sweet little girl with her skirt made from a hankie… I think an outfit using it is in order… there was a little note on the inside saying it was fine to do so… :o)

Seems to me like the chickies have overtaken the bunnies this year… :o) Look at this adorable chick… the reader said it was for George… in honor of his new little baby bantam chicks… I might have to “babysit” it in my sewing room… :o) It looks almost real, doesn’t it?

It even came with a little booklet showing lots of other animals that can be bought…

Oops… a bunny sneaked into my post… look at this sweet pincushion…

And one last gift… a sweet pillow called “My Prayer Garden” with all kinds of little charms and the prettiest stitching…

I almost have no words to adequately say thank you to my readers who blessed me so much! What wonderful and charming and heart felt gifts I received. Thank you very much and may the Lord bless you many times over for how sweet you have been to me and my hubby. If I left anyone’s out… please forgive me… sometimes I get something and I know right where I want it to go… so I put it away… and may have missed it…

Well, I finished my alterations…(which I don’t really do…)…it took me 8 hours to fix this dress and now I’m wondering about her bill… my least favorite part of the whole thing… (well, maybe not this time… it was a big job!)
Anyway, I’m done with it and will deliver it to her and then it will be back to dolly dresses! YAY!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. What a wonderful collection of cards, gifts and pictures, Jeanne! It’s almost like Christmas in April! I thoroughly loved to see Susette’s pictures, what lovely table settings she has, the darling grandchildren and flowers! And thank you for showing my “girls”!

The hankie card reminds me of the kind I used to get as a little girl. I still even have a few with the hankies! Yours would make a darling apron for a little someone!
That chick is just adorable! Yes, it looks so lifelike, and could almost pass as a real one! How big is it?
Gosh, the pin cushion and pillow! Wish I had the skills to do things like that—-or the time! Yes, you are very blessed in the friendships you have, and so are we to have you for a friend!

    1. Hi Linda,
I’m so glad you enjoyed today’s post and I’m so glad you contributed some pictures for me to use. Your dolls and the setup you used for them is just the cutest thing ever. So very sweet.
I have made the best friends since I started writing this blog. You are my “closest” friend…distance wise, that is! I’m so glad we found each other!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Filed under: My Life, Uncategorized. I’m sure that’s 2 categories, but I love it as one — it certainly describes my life right now.

There should be a category for shared pictures and even one for gifts — you have received some lovely ones. I love the rabbit’s dress and even a cape, like some you’ve made recently. The chick does look real. It will be nice to have one that stays little and fuzzy. If you use the handkerchief, you can make the girl on the card a new skirt from scraps and lace — it will be just as pretty and fun to make.

I love the way Linda dresses dolls. AG should hire her to dress theirs — sometimes I see one of her dolls in a dress I’ve seen in the AG catalog and passed up because it wasn’t pretty enough — on Linda’s dolls, it’s suddenly a whole lot cuter. I love Susette’s tablecloth, but I love her houses even better. There are a lot on Ebay, some at reasonable prices, under Heather Goldminc Blue Sky Clayworks. I’ve ordered my first one already. If you want something similar but more Eastern European, check Ebay or Etsy under “Lithuania house.” I think these are the ones that may have inspired Heather Goldminc — or, of course, perhaps not. I didn’t find her on Wikipedia, but I did find her on Google — she’s a Canadian artist who discovered working with clay when she was five. No mention of Lithuanian influence or heritage.

Both the Heather Goldminc houses and the Lithuanian houses were designed to hold candles or tea lights — placing candles in windows was a political statement in Lithuania — Susette’s use of the houses in fairy gardens is original and wonderful.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I probably do need to think of a few more categories…I’m not sure how many I can have on WordPress…
I do plan on using that hankie for an apron, probably for Kirsten. The colors will pick up her blue eyes!
Thanks for your info on the houses…I always love to learn from you…

I enjoy it very much when someone shares pictures with me and I can then share them with everyone. You are very right about AG needing to take lessons from Linda on how to dress the dolls and make them look appealing.
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Each one brought something special and heartfelt.
Congratulations on finishing the gown alterations. It sounds like it was a big job.
So many aspects of spring. It must really be here!
    Have a good day.
    Take care.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
Yes, all the goodies shared and shown were wonderful to see!
I am going to deliver that dress I altered to the girl in just a little bit…I can’t wait for it to be gone…
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Thanks to Linda and Susette for sharing their photos with us. They are very creative in how they’ve put their goodies together. And Jeanne, thank you for sharing your goodies with us too. I’m glad you were feted. You have brought a sweetness, inspiration and sincerity to our lives that only you could fill. I appreciate your remembrances to many of us in so many ways. Thank you for being our “friend”, despite the distance.

    Blessings.

    1. Hi Becky,
I am truly the blessed one…with all of you ladies…and one gentleman who has introduced himself to me recently. It’s wonderful to share my love of sewing and dolly talk with so many like minded friends.
I have the best job ever…it’s not really even work because I love to sew!
      Thank you Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. It was so much fun viewing all the pictures!! Linda and Susette set their dolls up so sweetly. I like seeing their dolls dressed up for the different occasions. What fun!
Also, the cards and gifts you received are so thoughtful and sweet. What wonderful followers and friends. The glittery card and the card with the handkerchief, the little chick pictures and the fuzzy chick are really neat.
Can’t forget those two little darlings with their Easter baskets…Riya and Krish!!
Thank you for sharing all the pictures. It’s was fun seeing them and the Easter outfits you showed us the other day!

    1. Hi Paula,
We need to see some pictures from your dolly vignettes…I know you love to put things together for them!!! *hint* hint*
I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing the pictures of my “Easter leftovers!” I was very happy to share them with everyone.
      Thank you Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. They are all Linda’s dolls dressed up in their Easter finery and are just wonderful. I see more details every time I look at the pictures. Love the Easter baskets, especially the wire one with the pink ruffles, and Addy’s basket with the little black bunny is adorable. Linda is truly The Champ of doll dressing and accessorizing the scenes. What a wonderful collection!

Thanks, Marilyn, for more info about the little houses. The iris was transplanted from my Mother’s garden and grows all by itself with little help from me. The children were leaving on vacation very early Sunday morning, long before the Easter Bunny gets up to hide eggs, so I sent the eggs for a Saturday hunt. The cards are all darling and I seem to vaguely remember the handkerchief cards. That’s a really pretty one.

The bunny pincushion has the smallest stuffed animals I’ve ever seen and the cape is just “too much!” Lovely! The Hansa chick is marvelous and a “must have,” so realistic. What a thoughtful gift for George. The pillow will be a treasure forever. It’s so beautifully executed with so much thought put into the selection of each of the miniature charms.

This post is such a gift from you to all of us. Thanks for sharing the love that goes into every one of your posts.

    1. Hi Susette,
I have to agree with you, about looking at Linda’s pictures of her dolls. The set ups are always fun to scrutinize and look for every little detail.
I love all my gifts and just wanted to share them with everyone!
I’m going to put the “Garden prayer” pillow in my blue cabinet to keep it dust free…I can see it everytime I walk past it too…so can everyone else!
Thanks for your sweet thoughts, Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. A big thank you for sharing the photos. So fun.
Linda’s girls all look so nicely dressed. Love the table setting with the eggs and chocolate bunny in the bowl. Now that I have a table/chairs for my group, maybe I can do something for next year.
Love Susette’s robin egg blue tableware and the beautiful decorations. What an adorable photo of the grands with their eggs. And what a lovely iris. Mine are not quite ready to bloom. Like hers, mine are from my grandmother also.
I want some Hansa chicks. All of their animals are amazing.
And thanks Marilyn, now that I know the little house maker, I may have to indulge and pick up one too. They are so sweet.
Great presents Jeanne. Thanks for sharing. Glad your alterations are done and you can perhaps get on to something a lot more fun.
More rain here today. Getting a little old.

    1. Hi Joy,
I am delivering the altered dress in just a few minutes. Now I remember why I don’t like alterations…I just don’t!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing all the treasures I shared today and next year well expect to see your girls around that table!
Thanks for your sweet comments, Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. I laughed at your alteration story… I hate doing them too ,but like you I will do it for special people…like the bridal dress I altered and that was her wedding gift. I always tell them When I do give in and do it I say ” don’t you dare tell anyone” ? Seems like bridal nd formats are really constructed differently and take forever to rip apart..
Such a cute variety of Easter pics too. Love that realistic little chick and the doll settings.
All of our g kids were here..gosh..most are teens already but still fun and nice kids.
    (hugs)

    1. HI Kathie,
Oh good, I’m not alone in my alteration woes. It does take longer to take somethings apart than it does to put them together… I delivered the dress to her and it fit wonderfully. She was thrilled, but not half as thrilled as I was. The last thing I wanted to do was bring that thing home with me and work on it some more! Thank the Lord it fit!
I did see your grand kids on facebook and they are growing up fast! You’re right… mostly teens! They look sweet and well mannered… you can just tell sometimes!
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne
