Rebecca’s 1900’s dress is on Ebay…so who’s up next?

Whether you have a Samantha, a Nellie or a Rebecca like me, this coral colored dress should look lovely on any of the dolls. I should have tried it on my dark haired Eden (#41) that I use as my 50’s girl. I bet she would look beautiful in it.

I took Linda’s cue and decided to go with flowers as her accessory. Fortunately I had some peachy/coral flowers that I thought looked pretty nice with the dress.

I didn’t have the right style basket to use as an Easter basket and the Easter Eggs I had that I could have put in it, were too “plastic” like…and besides, the dress is going to end on Thursday, so there is only Friday and Saturday to get it to someone’s house for Easter. I realized that probably wasn’t going to be the case, so I guess it’s just a “Spring” dress. It WILL be Spring by the time the auction ends. That’s a good thing! (What happened to my Easter sewing this year? I barely got anything made…) At this rate, I better start on Christmas dresses now…

I thought about making Rebecca a purse or giving her a stuffed animal, but when I found the flowers, I thought that was the best idea. She does look awfully pretty with them in her hand. I’ve used a little clear rubber band to hold them in place.

Remember I told you had a pair of cream dressy shoes that I thought would look nice with her lacy thigh highs…My sister in PA sent these to me last year and I think this is the first time I’ve used them. They aren’t included with the dress set but they sure do look awfully sweet with this dress.

If you’ve gotten to my blog post late this evening, you’ve probably already noticed I’ve changed the picture at the right sidebar to Rebecca’s dress. If you haven’t seen it, you can click on the Ebay link HERE.

So now that Rebecca’s dress is finished, it’s time to turn my attention to the next doll… It’s always hard for me to decide who should get the next dress…so how about if I ask you all again and we see what happens. I’ll list the dolls I have and everyone pick their top 2 choices! I’ll see what kind of response I get from the comments and my emails…

These are the dolls I have…so pick your 2 favorites!

Elizabeth – Colonial or Regency
Felicity – Colonial
Josefina – Mexican
Kit – 1930’s
Molly – 1940’s

Lily – my “modern” girl
Saige – western wear or just about anything
Addy – Civil War
Julie – 1970’s
Effner Little Darling – Isabelle
Effner Little Darling – Janie
Effner Little Darling – Lian
Ten Ping -whatever I feel like…

  1. Jeanne, I vote for Patsy, Haven’t seen you post to often. I like her size. I have two Patsy’s and one Soffie . Need to find some time to sew for these girls. I also would love to see something for Ellowyne she is also on my most favorite list………Lynne

    1. Hi Lynne,
Okay…it’s Patsy and Ellowyne for you…Ellowyne is your new best friend…she thanks you a lot. 🙂
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Marilyn Grotzky

My sister Susan made a blouse with the fabric with the peppers on it (see the cartoon).

You mentioned Eden and I think it’s time for Lily to have something new — so there are my two votes.

You have a lovely Sunday. The snow on the streets here is melting fast, though I think more is expected next week.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I think the last thing I made for Lily was that pink floral dress that I made for those little girls…it’s been a really long time for her…
I think it’s funny that you recognized the red pepper fabric as one your sister made a blouse from.
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. wonderful outfit – just in time for Easter, too! 🙂
I have a ‘new’ Patsy – she votes for *Patsy*!
(yes – in the midst of selling dolls, I adopted a new one!) sigh – I’m hopeless.

    1. Thank you Mary,
Those Patsy dolls are easy to love…and adopt. I check every night for a Trixie Tonner…the one with the lighter brown eyes and the big afro. I think she is so aforable. I keep watching for one with straight eyes…not wonky ones.
      Maybe someday I’ll find one…
      Blessings. Jeanne

  4. Good morning, Jeanne. I must say that Rebecca is one of sweetest old-fashioned girls around. When those tulips and poppies start blooming Rebecca will be ready to have her portrait taken in the garden. I can’t decide which shoes I like the best… they’re both cute. The addition of her little bouquet adds the perfect spring touch. BTW, I know that this is a spring dress, but it would look perfect for fall too, maybe even Christmas, even though it’s not a true red. What a great addition for a turn-of-the-century little miss’s closet!
    Enjoy your Sunday!

    1. Thank you Cindy,
Rebecca does look pretty old fashioned in this dress, doesn’t she? I think Rebecca would like to keep this one, but *alas” she knows that’s not the way it works around here. If I had a second pair of those shoes I’d probably just include them with the auction…
Thanks so much for your kind comments, Cindy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Rebecca looks gorgeous! I LOVE the little shoes!! How nice of your sister to get them for you. I think they’re perfect with her dress.

I’d love to see Eden in a fifties fashion or Julie in something from the seventies (my teenage era). Everything you sew is so inspiriting!

    1. Thank you Rebecca,
I appreciate your kind words about Rebecca’s dress and her new shoes. I need to find out if my sister can get any more of those shoes. They are awfully sweet with this dress.

It’s been a while since Eden modeled a dress and I actually have a dress made for Julie, but I have been trying to get her hat finished…so she might be up soon…even if she’s not chosen today…
      Thank you Karen,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Maybe a more modern outfit for one of the girls that is a little shorter in length. Knee length for Patsy or Ten Ping would be great.
Love your choice of flowers for Rebecca’s outfit.

    1. Thank you Joy,
Hmmmm…. Patsy or Ten Ping in a modern sort of outfit…I think I could do that!
      I appreciate your comments today…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Love the little nosegay of flowers, Jeanne! The whole outfit is just so sweet, and the shoes your sister sent go perfectly too! What brand are they, do you know? They would work so well with anything from the turn of the century, which is one of the ways I like to dress Cecile.

I really don’t have a big preference of who you sew for next. Several people are saying Patsy, but I have no idea who she is! That’s fine to sew something for her, and I think Josefina is due for something too. Her birthday was yesterday!

    1. I forgot to add that cartoon is soo funny! You mentioned something about both you and George being white haired someday, well, this cartoon also has George bald!! But yes, that DOES look something like what you two will be doing in the future! Still going strong with the doll clothes!

      1. HI again Linda,
Well, we both might get white headed, but going bald is something that will never happen to George. His hair is like carpeting on his head…thick as can be and hardly ever moves…even when he sleeps… He wakes up and it’s just like it was when he went to bed.
        Thanks for predicting our future!
        Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Thanks so much Linda,
I’m glad you suggested the flowers… I probably would have gone with something else, but as I look at the pictures of her with the bouquet, I think it was the perfect choice for this set.

I just found them on Ebay… by this seller…evereighteen…

      Cream shoes by evereighteen

I need to get out my list of all the dolls birthdays… I forget about that. So yesterday was Josefina’s birthday, huh?
      Thanks for reminding me…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Lovely job, Jeanne…the flowers are just the ticket for that ensemble.

I like the AG dolls so I’d vote for one of them…Elizabeth…Saige…whatever or whomever you choose, it will be a treat to see what you come up with.

    Take care.

    1. Thank you Becky,
I’m glad everyone is liking Rebecca’s bouquet. I think it suits her very much!
It’s always fun for me to see who wants what doll next… for you it’s Elizabeth or Saige…
      We’ll see…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. The flowers are exactly the right touch for this lovely dress. The little shoes are adorable. Wish I could find some like that. I only have Molly and Ten Ping of the dolls you have, so those are my votes this time. I love to see all of your doll dress creations, though, to get ideas and see techniques, so whoever gets the nod this time will be fine and she will be a lucky girl.

I am jumping forward to a dress for Fourth of July according to Riya’s suggested design. She knows exactly what she wants each time I ask and draws a picture and also knows to give me plenty of time, but I’ll be working on a couple of things at the same time. I finished the sandals to go with the Easter dress she designed yesterday. Have a nice peaceful Sunday.

    1. HI Susette,
Thanks for thinking the flowers were the right choice for Rebecca’s dress set.
I just found the shoes on Ebay… here’s the link to them… by the seller evereighteen

Boy, Riya is certainly keeping you busy with your sewing isn’t she? It’s fun for me to hear about what
she wants for her next dress…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Rebecca looks beautiful in her outfit. The little cream colored shoes are perfect for that dress even though they aren’t being sold with the dress. The style of the shoes is perfect for the Victorian era.
I’d love to see a dress for the Civil War girls. Something like those Little Women dresses you showed us the other day.
Second vote, would be an outfit for the 50’s girls. Thank you for letting us put our 2 cents in.

    Have a lovely, peaceful Sunday.

    1. HI Paula,
I was going back over my comments and I saw I had accidentally missed you…oops!
I did find the shoes on Ebay if the winner would like to have them… I put the link in a couple of the other comments.
I knew you and Laura would vote for the Civil War dresses and that’s fine with me! It has been a while since I did a 50’s dress…that would be fun too. I guess I’ll see what happens.
      Thanks for your choices, Paula,
I did have a nice Sunday…and even squeezed in a nap!
      Blessings to you,
      Jeanne

    1. Thank you Andrea,
I’m glad you added in your opinion of who you’d like to see next… Elizabeth is a favorite of mine, so we’ll have to see…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Rebecca’s dress is lovely. The cream shoes look very sweet as do the boots.
As far as who should be next… I vote for Felicity (Colonial) or a Civil War dress as those are two of my favorite eras besides Victorian/Edwardian. I enjoy seeing the Civil War dresses you create most of all!
Hope your having a lovely Sunday.

    1. HI Laura,
Well, you and I think alike on the Civil War dresses… I DO love making them… I never seem to tire of coming up with new dresses from that era.
I have had a lovely Sunday so far..and I hope it stays that way…
      Blessings to you Laura,
      ~ Jeanne

    1. Hi Kath,
I like that you were short and sweet with who you wanted… Nyssa or Hope, or Ellowyne.
It’s been a while for any of these dolls… too long in fact.
      Thanks for voicing your choice.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. The cream shoes seem worthy of the beautiful dress. I will choose PTsy this time. Have to spread the Beauty among your girls. No pinching allowed either.

    1. HI Jan,
I just found the shoes on Ebay from the seller evereighteen…. Here is the link to them…

      Cream embroidered shoes

So you chose Patsy, huh? She is a cutie and I think she’s in the lead now…
      Thanks for playing along…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  13. I just love that coral color, and that style of dress – it turned out beautifully! Love those cream colored shoes – don’t blame you for keeping them. 🙂

Love my LDs, so I have to vote for Isabelle or Janie, since Lian got to show off a new dress awhile back.

    1. HI Theresa,
I found the shoes on Ebay if anyone is interested.. they are from the seller… evereighteen

      Cream embroidered shoes

Awww…someone after my own heart… the Little Darlings… one of my favorites to sew for!
      Thank you Theresa,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Kathie,
Thanks for your vote for who should be next. I’ll give it a little while longer and then I’ll tally up the comments and the email choices… and then we’ll see who gets to stand in Rebecca’s place next!
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne
