Patsy Tonner’s Patriotic Pride…

I don’t have it finished yet, but I already have a name for it…Patriotic Pride! I’m determined to get ONE MORE DRESS FINISHED before the 4th of July and it will most likely be a Buy It Now or a one-day listing on Ebay. I had Patsy laid on my cutting table and when Jevne said something about possibly having time to do one more, I opted to sew this evening instead of doing my dishes… does anyone else ever do that???

If you didn’t know, Patsy is a 10″ doll from the Tonner Company and is the same size as her popular friend, Ann Estelle.

I only have the bodice constructed, and I think I know how it’s going to be put together, but not 100% positive. I had Patsy stand beside all of my patriotic fabrics so you could see what I had to choose from. I hope you think I picked the right one. (She does…) I’m hoping I can get it finished tomorrow, and then I’ll let you know when it goes on Ebay…

I know this isn’t much to go on, but it will give you an idea of where I’m going, and you’ll have to use your imagination again to see if you guess how I will finish it.

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Jeanne, I think that dress will be adorable, and I think I have a good idea what you will do with it. Oh yes, sewing doll clothes is WAY more fun than doing dishes, I will agree!

We are in the midst of getting new countertops in the kitchen and today the old ones come off and water turned off, meaning no dishwasher, no garbage disposal and of course, no water there in the kitchen. Not sure how this will work for 3 days, but I have a feeling we will be going out to eat quite a few times! My hubby has to build new supports inside to hold up the new granite countertops before the granite guys get here Monday. At least we will be having a great weekend weather-wise!

    1. HI Linda,
Now that I’ve gotten up and see all those dishes… maybe I should have split up my time and done half sewing and half dishes…Nah…

Ooooo… how fun getting new countertops! It will be worth 3 days of inconvenience when you see how they look in the end! I’m so jealous…send me some pics when you have them all in and your kitchen back in order! I thought your kitchen was beautiful before!

Ahhh, Jeanne, you and me both. I have my red, white and blues all piled up with two dresses cut out. The bodice of one was made last evening {the dishwasher is running} and today the skirt and under skirt will be made. I have not picked out any embellishment yet as that is the afternoon’s task. Hopefully, I will be energized to finish up the second dress for Molly. Unless I get the urge to take a nap !!!! It is not yet 9am and I am feeling the need to go back to the nice soft bed.
    Rainy and HOT here !

    1. HI Jeannie,
I’m glad I’m not the only one working to get another 4th of July dress finished! Send me a picture when you finish it… you’ll see mine here!
I stayed up late last night, so I, too, was quite the dead head this morning!
It’s sunny here, hot, and humid, but it beats the rain!

  3. Hi Jeanne,
Patsy’s dress is going to be adorable. Love all those little prints and the buttons. Too cute!
I don’t have a Patsy doll but she kind of reminds me of the larger Betsy McCall I’ve seen in the past.
There is a north eastern wind blowing through here. Very very windy. Trying to find a good project to work on here at home.
    Have a great day!!

    1. Thanks Paula,
I’m really hoping to get it finished today! Patsy is kind of like the Betsy McCall dolls… all eyes!
I have a few projects mulling over in my mind… I hope you figure out what you want to do. I’m going to try and get Patsy’s dress done and listed and then still have time to work on a project too! Let me know what you do.
      Blessings, Jeanne
