Patriotic Bracelets and Purple for Lian…

Rebecca finished the bracelets for the Sister Set and they turned out so adorable. I didn’t turn on my photo lights so they aren’t as sparkly as they look in a better light, but I think you can get the idea.

They are on a stretchy cord and just slide over your dolls hand.

Someone also mentioned flags for the girls and I just happened to have a couple of extra ones, so I put them with the girls and will include them. I wish they could be shown in the Ebay listing…oh well…

Did you notice anything about the dresses? I switched them around on the girls… now Eden is in the blue one and Lily has on the red one… What a couple of cuties!

A few weeks ago, when I first got my hat mold for the Dianna Effner Little Darlings, I couldn’t resist making another hat one Sunday afternoon. We were watching an old movie and I wanted to do “double duty” so I sat at the table and made a sweet lavender hat.

I didn’t know what I was going to make to go with it, but it didn’t take long to figure it out. I was at Hobby Lobby today and found these tiny paper roses and couldn’t resist as they were half price. The purple roses are just sitting on the hat with a tiny bit of sticky back that came on them. I just stuck them on there so you could see them…

Then when I got home and held them up to some purple fabrics, I found the perfect one… so that’s how Lian’s dress was “born.”

I don’t have very much done on it, but probably the hardest part… the sleeves with added lace… The sides aren’t sewn yet, so it looks a little loose on her.

So that’s it for today.. I was busy and didn’t have much time to sew…
I hope you had a wonderful day…

See you tomorrow,

  1. What cute bracelets for the sisters, Jeanne! I love that they are easy to put on, especially since AG does have a few that have a clasp, and it is a bear to get those on! They sure do give the outfits a little “extra” and Rebecca did a great job!

Oh, I LOVE the lavender hat and dress so far! I really do love the color lavender, especially in the spring. While I would never paint a room lavender, I think it makes a wonderful accent color, and love it paired up with green. I love the way you have the front yolk centered on the two doves—perfect! The white lace is so very pretty! I can’t wait to see what else happens with this dress!

    1. Thank you Linda,
I think the bracelets and the flags are the icing on the cake for this set. I really like seeing 2 of the same…well, almost same… dress in the same lot!

Lian looks pretty in most any color but I think she’ll be a little doll in this set… the lavender color is so soft and just the right size print for her tiny size. I hope to get some more done on it today…
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Judy,
Oh, I DO plan on putting the flags and the bracelets in this lot for the winner, it’s just that I can’t put the “PICTURES” of the flags and the bracelets in the listing… but rest assured, they WILL be included…
      Thanks Judy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. We were so busy admiring the sister outfits yesterday than none of us asked the usual “What’s up next?” question. And here you are, nearly halfway done with it. What a nice surprise! The fabric is exactly right for Lian — the doves fit perfectly and the color is lovely on her. It’s going to be a very nice beginning of summer cool-looking dress.

Is Linda ever right about the bracelets. The AG bracelets are cute and add a lot to the outfits, but putting them on is no fun at all. Rebecca must have a huge bead stash — those stars make these bracelets perfect for those outfits.

You’ve given us a lovely start to the day. Many thanks, and I hope your day is super.

    1. HI Marilyn,
Yes, surprise, surprise… I have been staring at that lavender shell of a hat for about 2 weeks now and thought it might be next but not positive. When I found those little paper roses, I was thinking of another lavender print I had at home, but totally forgot about the one I ended up using. I think it will be really sweet on Lian.

Oh, my goodness, does Rebecca have a bead stash… she’s wanting to weed them out too, sometime. But she’s like me, she has a nice inventory and can make something most times when I ask for something because she’s got so much to choose from.

      Thank you Marilyn,
I hope you have a lovely day too.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Love the birdie fabric! So cute how you centered them perfectly. Would be delightful to see you make a hat in a video post. Guess I’m not getting how glue alone can hold it together. Maybe it is the special glue. Anyway, it is perfect. I like lilac in small doses. I can remember in the 50’s a friend painted her room lavender. She picked the color and had help painting. I loved it. My mother, however, thought it was tasteless. My room was always pale yellow. I really don’t like yellow much to this day. Couldn’t wait to paint my own walls white! I love white as a background for everything else. Good thing we all have different tastes. Keeps the world moving.

    1. Hi Joy,
Yes, I did a little “fussy cutting” to get those love birds centered… it just makes it prettier!
When my webmaster gets back from Africa, in less than 2 weeks (YAY) I want her to help me figure out how I can do videos on here… that will be nice…

Speaking of bedroom walls, I’m wanting to repaint mine too. Mine are called Brick Dust but in reality they look like rose. My hubby picked out the fabric. I think he did that for me… :o) I think I’m going to do a neutral color like a soft white… that way, I can change up the accent pieces and make it lovely whatever color I put with it.
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne
