Only for my Subscribers….

I managed to get my “Let There be Lavender” Civil War dress set listed on Ebay and it’s ready for anyone to place a bid! *hint* *hint* You can see it by clicking on the picture of it on the right side bar or you can click HERE.

When I first showed you the dress a few days ago, Linda (a subscriber) said it would look sweet too, with a big straw hat. I have some wide brimmed straw hats so I decided to do something just for my subscribers. If anyone who is a subscriber to my blog, wins this dress, I will include this straw hat to go along with the dress set! That will make 7 pieces to the set! Remember you have to be a subscriber, and win the dress set, to get the hat! The hat isn’t being offered on Ebay…just here!
[Just let me know if you are a subscriber if you are the winner.] …and yes, you can subscribe any time between now and when the auction ends, but not afterwards…

Here is the dress with the first bonnet and then I’ll show you some shots of the straw hat. It can be tied in the front or the back…as they sometimes did. I like them tied in the back because it’s less “fussy” looking. It’s amazing how a hat can change the looks of the dress from a Civil War dress to possibly a Colonial Style dress. You can decide which era you like or forget the time period and just show off a pretty dress set! If one of my subscribers doesn’t win the auction, I’ll save the hat for another dress!

Just a little trivial thing to you, but to me, it’s big… If you’ve ever noticed those little numbers on the right side bar…that is a counter and it shows how many hits I’ve had since I started my blog. Most likely I’m going to hit the 20,000 mark today! YAY for me! Just doing a little early celebrating by myself!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Oh Jeanne, that dress looks just gorgeous with the straw hat! I can see Felicity in that very easily! I love the way you wrapped the ribbon around yhe top and put that beautiful big bow in the back! I also see how you tied another bow under her chin, or in the back, it changes the look. While I think the original hat is cute, this straw one is what I REALLY like!

I’m not sure what numbers you are talking about on the right side bar, I don’t see anything to that effect. Maybe you see things we don’t get?

I wonder how you did at the wedding shower. We had SO much rain, I thought we were living in biblical times and needed an ark! Hope you did better than us!

    1. HI Linda,
Glad you like the straw hat. It really changes the looks of the dress, doesn’t it?

I think you may be right…it’s set of little black numbers right above the “tags” and you all might not be able to see them. I did hit the 20,000 mark already this morning…YAY!

The bridal shower was held outside…NO RAIN… a few sprinkles when they were setting up but we just moved the food table into the gazebo and nothing hampered the fun. There were only 9 so it was just the right size… The rain you had sounds like what we had at the yard sale on Friday… it just came down in buckets…

      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I think you went with the right hat first time, Jeanne. I am fascinated by the trim on the bonnet, i have never seen anything like that….of course, there are a lot of things I haven’t seen. The bonnet and the belt make the outfit as far as I’m concerned although I do like the jewelry and the beads on her sleeves….nice touch.

    1. HI Jevne,
Well, I guess now anyone who wants the dress can have their choice of hats… you like the bonnet; Linda likes the straw hat! Again…to each her own!
I’ll see if I can find a source for it and let you know…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. OH my! That hat is spectacular! It’s a perfect look on her.
Makes me want to buy a AG doll LOL

    1. HI Kathie,
You don’t have any AG dolls, Kathie? I never would have guessed that…
      Thanks for your compliments…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Oh Jeanne, I agree with Linda that the dress with the straw hat looks MADE for Felicity. Her Pleasant Company summer gown with bonnet is one of my favorites, but PC/AG really needed to add more green and yellow to her wardrobe.
The dress as a Civil War style reminds me of all those gorgeous dresses Elizabeth Taylor wore in “Raintree County”. Have you ever seen that movie? My mom as a teen was enthralled by those dresses. The change from bonnet to hat totally changes the look/era of the dress.. I love the beading on the sleeves. Colonial, Civil War and Victorian/Edwardian are three of my favorite time periods and, to me, the clothes can’t have too many details. The necklace Rebecca made for it adds the perfect finishing touch.

    1. Thank you Laura,
It’s nice that everyone sees it differently and yet, it’s all the same dress. I loved that period in history too… I’ll have to check out that movie…Raintree County. I can’t remember it…
Thanks again for your sweet comments…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I see 1,030 for your numbers. I have to hold the tablet sideways to see the right side of your blog. Do I see ultra suede on the inside of the straw hat? No AG for me either. A nice size to sew for. I had no idea adults were big collectors of the doll until a few years ago.

    1. HI Jan,
I think my counter must be for me only… and I’m not sure what the 1,030 is that you are seeing…
No, there isn’t any Ultrasuede on the inside of the hat…just decorated on the outside.
Yes, adults probably collect the dolls almost more than the young girls… You should check out American Girl Playthings…it’s a fun AG doll forum…
      Thanks Jan,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I love the straw hat!! But I think I have mentioned before that I like them. ha! I can see that you have 20,042 hits. Congrats!

    1. HI Regina,
Okay… another taker for the straw hat! That’s weird that you can see the counter but others can’t. Thanks so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne
