First day of Fall ~ Fashionable with Flowers

I saw lots and lots of leaves falling today, so that can only mean one thing… Fall is coming… I mean Fall IS HERE… Today is the first day of Fall. (It actually starts at 4:02 p.m. Eastern time) I thought I’d celebrate it with you by showing flowers instead of leaves! I have some fun pictures of my girls holding flowers and hope you enjoy this slideshow! Pretty quickly the flowers will all disappear.

If you click on the pictures they will enlarge.

After seeing all those pretty flowers in the girls hands… WHO’S READY TO GO RAKE SOME LEAVES? :o)

See you tomorrow,

  1. Gosh Jeanne, I don’t think I ever finished raking from LAST year! There is always something to rake up here in my yard, and with all this exceptionally hot and dry weather we have had, the leaves are really coming down fast. I think in the last several days, it really has started, and I am getting ready for the big deluge of leaves soon. I’m wondering if we will have as much pretty fall colors as we have in the past, due to the dryness.
And yes, the flowers are starting to look a bid sad now. I’m replacing them with mums, which look so much better! Your dress/flower parade is wonderful! I was hoping you would NOT ask which we liked better, because I have a lot to do today!! I can never decide what I like best when I see all the dresses and combinations you make. It takes all day!!! But oh my goodness, you have made some gorgeous dresses! Just think of what you would have today if you had made them all for yourself! There are quite a few I have not seen, like Felicity’s white gown, that is beautiful!

Have a good Sunday, and try to stay cool!

  2. I’m with Linda, I never finished raking last year! Maybe I will do better this year. The calendar may say autumn but the temperatures are saying summer. It’s supposed to be in the 90s today. It isn’t autumnal weather at all!!
Loved the parade of beautiful dresses! I don’t think I could choose a favorite but I especially liked Nyssa’s purple dress. I’m not sure why; there are plenty that are more complicated or fancy. I think I liked the contrast of the dark hair with the purple though, and the multi-tiered skirt reminds me of one I had long long ago.
Hope you have a good day. Stay cool.
    Take care.

  3. Nice to see some flowers as all we appear to have now are leaves. Very chilly this morning, but supposed to be up in the high eighties next week. Usually warmer at this time of year. I need to clean the furnace filters and prepare for those monster heating bills. 🙁
Pixie Faire’s has some cute Halloween costumes in two sizes for their free pattern today. Very cute. Looks pretty easy too.

  4. Whenever you do a fashion show, I think there can’t possibly be ones I haven’t seen before, but I count at least four that are new to me. Your creativity is amazing to see. So many variations of design, color and size of dresses. Thanks for once again sharing a great show.

  5. Like Linda, I’m finding a lot of unfamiliar outfits in that impressive list of lovely clothes. Just when I choose a favorite, I find a different favorite. No one wears clothes like Wren — it’s always good to see her.

Only a few of the leaves here have started changing. In spite of the dryness, there are a lot of them and my yard is going to be deep in leaves soon enough. Time to find everyone’s leaf-raking clothes.

  6. Always beautiful, always a joy to view your work, Jeanne. Thank you for sharing these lovely dresses with us today.

    Blessings.

  7. I know you didn’t ask but I automatically look to see which one is my favorite. Kirsten in her hot pink vest and aqua skirt and eyelet blouse and apron..followed closely by all the ones with Hankie Aprons….that is such a great way to use those pretty hankies
    Have a good weekend☺️

  8. Add me to the list of not finishing raking last year. I’m always finding stray leaves around. Those dresses are really lovely and there are quite a few I haven’t ever seen.-Felicity’s ivory gown and all except the May Day one of Kirsten. Interesting to see that you used that you used the exact same fabric on the “Springtime in the South” (NO, I never forget the ones I name) and on your Kish doll both with beautiful results.
Yes, fall is coming and although I love leaves changing and Indian summer I always miss the true summer with all the flowers. Summer never seems long enough.
