Nyssa is teasing you today… sorry…

The plan was to get Nyssa’s new red dress finished and listed on Ebay tonight, but my hubby had an appointment this morning that lasted from 8:30 till 1:00 and then someone came over this evening, so there was no way I could get it finished. I did get all the snaps sewn on while in the waiting room. I worked on the set after our company left but it was 11:30 this evening, before I got it finished, so there was no time to get it listed. I took my pictures, but it must have been too dark in my room because most of my pictures didn’t turn out to suit me. I will have to take them over tomorrow.

Which brings me to today’s post… it will have to be a teaser one about Nyssa’s dress. It would be nice if I could say I’ll have this on Ebay on Thursday evening, but I’ve learned not to make such drastic statements because I never know what might happen in my world… :o)

So here are a few pieces of the puzzle for Nyssa’s dress. It’s really cute and I can’t wait to show you the whole thing in one picture…

I got to wondering as I was working on it… how many of you have a Nyssa doll? (There were only 87 made.) Perhaps you have another Kaye Wiggs Ball Jointed Doll?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Nyssa looks very lovely in her “puzzle” of an ensemble…can’t wait to see the whole thing.

I don’t have one of these dolls, but I do think she is very pretty. Great work, Jeanne.

    Blessings.

  2. Nyssa is going to be one pretty little doll in her Jeanne Marie outfit! Love what you did to the hat and that cute little purse! Fancy stockings to boot!

My goodness, they only made 97 of these dolls? How did you ever get one, Jeanne?

    1. HI Linda,
I’ve had a busy day and I’m just now getting back to your comments. I think Nyssa looks very sweet and I managed to get the Ebay listing scheduled for tonight.
Yes, there were only “87” of the Human Fair skinned Nyssa’s made. It’s an incredible story of how I got her. I might have to tell that story tomorrow…I’m still amazed.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. They are teaser pictures but they are also pictures of your incredibly fine detail work. I don’t have one of Nyssa’s sisters but I still very much enjoy reading about your creations. I learn and am inspired with every post.

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
I’m glad you aren’t interested in only one certain doll because I certainly have several that I like to sew for. I have all different customers who have lots of different tastes in dolls. I’m glad you enjoy my posts and hopefully get inspired by something I write.
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. The new decorations for the hat and that lovely cute purse are great additions to this very pretty outfit. I’m looking forward to tomorrow and seeing the complete outfit in its entirety.
The sun is shining here and the ice is gone. What could be nicer?

    1. HI Marilyn,
I’m glad you like Nyssa’s dress set…at least what you could see! You will see it soon enough.
I did get it listed and ready for Ebay this evening.
I bet you are truly enjoying the sunshine and non-icy walkways! It was pretty gloomy looking here today!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I have quite a few of Kaye’s dolls. I have Green Nelly Elf, Blue Koneko, Lilac Layla Elf, Light Tan Miki Elf, Annabella Elf, and several of her tinies, Lillie, Cinnamon, Raillie, and Tiny Nyssa Elf.

    1. HI Marti,
Oh my… you have LOTS of Kaye’s dolls. I used to have Millie too, but sold her. I never bonded with her “worried” looking eyebrows. I know that’s silly, but it’s true.
I bet you have lots of fun with your girls! Even though Nyssa and Hope stay in their box, they are still very special to me. I’ve always wanted to give Hope a faceup and change her lips.
Thanks for your comments and please chat with us again sometime… :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Wish I had a Nyssa. She is so expressive and fun.
    Her dress/hat/purse/thigh highs are perfect.
If anyone is interested, Jpop dolls has a Tiny Talyssa up for order. She is very tempting.

Hope all went well yesterday. Tell George the chickens in the yard on our walk now come to the side of the cage when I call chick, chick and stand there looking at us. There are five. I’m sure they would love some popcorn.

    1. HI Joy,
I shouldn’t have, but I looked at Tiny Talyssa… she’s a cutie. If I was getting one, I’m not sure if I’d do sunkissed or fair skinned… how about you? Which one do you like?
Thanks for the compliments on Nyssa’s dress set. I really like how it turned out… The next one should go even faster!
My hubby’s test was okay… they sent the results to his doctor at the cancer place and he wanted him to get a liter of fluids to wash everything out… he said the dye that goes into your bloodstream is sort of metallic and he didn’t want any particles left behind… That’s a scary thought, isn’t it?
I’m sure those chickens you see would LOVE some popcorn… they’d be your friends for life!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Glad tests were ok. We’ve been looking at metallic color cars the last few days. Interesting. I think more fun for sure.
As for Tiny Talyssa, I keep trying not to keep looking. Her cheeks seem a bit bright. I have a sunkissed Penny from Linda Macario, but I think I might go with the fair skinned. That is if I was going to decide by Feb 2nd. Must not look so often.
Magalie Dawson also has a lovely LD on her site for sale. At least it was there earlier. Check it out. $850.00 I think. She is an adorable dolly.

  7. Nyssa looks very nice in her dress and the matching decorated hat, cute purse and stockings really finish it off. Looking forward to seeing the entire outfit. Wow, with only 87 made you must have found her and gotten on the waiting list early.
No, I don’t have a Nyssa, in fact, I had never heard of some of the dolls you have including the BJ’s and Little Darlings before joining your blog. My “doll knowledge” beyond PC/AG is a cursory knowledge of Madame Alexander dolls since I had a few as a child and Kathe Kruse dolls as my great aunt brought two back to me as gifts when she visited our relatives in Germany. She had some of the Gotz dolls and other German dolls. That’s probably why I like the early PC made in Germany ones so much.
Hoping you received some good news at George’s appointment yesterday. Sending continued prayers his way.

    1. HI Laura,
Actually, I missed the debut of Nyssa completely. She came out in February for pre orders and I didn’t find out about her until August… I might tell the story of how I received her tomorrow.
I didn’t know much about dolls when I first started selling my things for them on Ebay. It was all about American Girl in the beginning. I think I got some Helen Kish dolls next, then a few Katie Effanbee dolls, then my sweet Isabelle, by Dianna Effner, followed by her sisters, then Ellowyne, Patsy, Elin and then Willa and Nahji and probably a few I missed.

I don’t know how you find out which dolls are going to be popular enough to invest in. I’ve always just gone with my gut…if I think she’s cute and there are lots of listings for her, I just might consider her. When their sales go south, it’s time to consider selling them.
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Your Nyssa was the first Kaye Wiggs doll I ever saw. I missed her and Annabella , but got the first Layla, then Hope, SK Layla, Tiny Tille, Maurice snd SK Gracie. I hope to order the new 14″ mini Laula when she is up for preorder.

Lovecthe snippets of Nyssa’s outfits.. cantvwsit yo see the photo shoot!

    1. Hi Shara,
I’m glad my Nyssa was your first look at Kaye’s dolls. She has made some really wonderful dolls, hasn’t she? You have a very nice collection of her dolls… how fun! I didn’t know about the new mini (I’m thinking you meant “Layla” not Laula?) I looked on jpop but only saw a pre order for Talyssa in the mini size.

You’ll get to see Nyssa’s dress tomorrow… all of it!
      Thanks Shara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Kaye bought s 3-D printer snd she is recreating her sculpts in different sizes.. tiny Talyssa is her first.:) Her “minis” will be 14″ sizes. Dhe previewed Mini Layla a few werks ago… she will be up from preorder in thr Spring after the sample comes back ftom her factory. Such a perfect size and she will be able to share patterns and footwear with Little Darlings. I yhink Grace said she will wear 6/7 wigs… same as the Kish Crysallis girls .

Nyssa looks so beautiful in her red drss. You did just a lovely creation! Best wishes for a successful auction ❤️

  9. Nyssa is my favorite of your dolls…well after the Little Darling painted by Joyce…what’s her name??? Oh my gosh…I love her so much and I’ve forgotten her name. The little oriental looking girl. I am so excited to see Nyssa’s dress finished…I LOVE her hat and that is an adorable dress pattern, by the way!!

    1. HI Bobi,
I’m glad you like Nyssa so much… I’ll have to see that she gets some extra modeling time this year…to make up for last year! :o(
Lian is my other doll that you must like…she’s painted by Joyce Mathews and sculpted by Dianna Effner. I love both of them…
I’m very happy with the way her dress set turned out… she is too!
      Thanks Bobi,
      Blessings, Jeanne
