New, shorter lace fingerless gloves for the American Girl dolls…

UPDATE: I was at Joann Fabrics today and happened to see another fat quarter just like the girls dresses. It wasn’t there last week… I know some of my customers like to have matching dresses, especially with these smaller dolls. I have enough now to make another “sister” dress if you win and happen to want one! Just thought I’d let you know!

If you haven’t been keeping track, my “Spring Fever” dresses for both Noel and Ten Ping are ending this evening. My girls are still wearing them and I think “secretly” hoping they get to keep them. I’ve already had a talk with them and they understand… but they still don’t want to get undressed.

If you want to see the listings on Ebay, you can click on the pictures at the right side bar, or you can click on the links below…

Here the girls are together in a sweet picture.

While my hubby was getting treatment yesterday, I was busy finishing some new lace fingerless gloves. I found a shorter white stretch lace and think these make the sweetest, dressiest gloves! I’ll show them on here first and if anyone wants them, I’ll go by the time on your comment or email to see who gets first dibs on them. I do have more lace so don’t worry if the pair you like disappears. They will be $8.00 a pair, plus $1.00 shipping. If they haven’t sold by the afternoon or early evening, I’ll probably list them in my Etsy shop. The price will be the same…

Here’s what I came up with…

Yes, I see it… the pink buttons are not the same on both gloves…one set of buttons is slightly farther apart than the other…I’ll fix it before sending them out!

Well, that’s my big contribution to today’s post!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. I hope your spa stay was easy and comfortable and that George feels better than usual today. Chemo does deplete energy progressively. Fortunately you both started with a lot.
The new gloves, like the earlier ones, are darling. You’ll send invoices so we can pay with PayPal, or are checks easier? I think I’d like the pair with the blue bows.
Speaking of buying, Z Yang is out today on American Girl. I wanted her filming equipment for my goddaughter, and it’s only $28, though if you want the editing and production station, that’s $125. I’ll be interested in the reaction to this doll. So far there are a lot of unfavorable comments about the fabric part of the sin and the dreaded perma-panties. I’ve seen threats to send the dolls in for a body change or to substitute one of the similar dolls for Z and buy her meet outfit on Ebay. People are being quite creative about how to get what they want. I’m surprised at finding fewer complaints about the “lipstick” look on the new dolls. Mattel’s sales are down and the changes they are making don’t seem very popular, but perhaps people tend to write about things they don’t like but buy the things they do like.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
George had an okay day yesterday…he slept through most of the treatment, except when our pastor came by to visit. Rhe chemo seemed to wire him and he didn’t sleep last night. I found him slumped over his desk this morning, asleep, so I had him go back to bed. He’s sleeping now.
If you like you can just send a check for the gloves, Marilyn,. I’ll get them out to you today.

I went to the American Girl site and looked at Z. I saw her on my phone, but will have to look her up on my computer so I can see her details.
I know lots of people are frustrated with the company and they “really” need to listen to their customers if they want to stay in business….cause if you don’t have customers you don’t have a business! Even I know that much!!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Insomnia is a big problem for a lot of people on chemo. My sister, who has had a lot of problems with insomnia, recommends Power to Sleep, which she gets at the Vitamin Cottage. It takes several days for it to start working and is the size capsule that George would have fed to the cows at SIU. It has the same natural ingredient as the medicine recommended to my friend Donna, who walks in her sleep, which wouldn’t be too bad except that she fights with what she meets when she walks — things like doors and bureaus and walls — they are vicious fighters. It does work and I don’t recall any side effects.

  2. I like the new gloves! You always do such wonderful tiny work. You have such a good eye for details. I noticed, for instance, that even the thread color matched those tiny buttons. You are continually inspiring to me.
I hope you have a good day today. The weather looks like it might get a little wet. I hope the storms don’t get severe and create damage.
    Take care.

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
I’m glad you like the new gloves. I wish I had had them in my Etsy shop for Easter. Oh well…
We had storms go through last night and got lots of rain, but we are still here and I haven’t noticed any tree branches down, so I think we fared okay…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Your work is so immaculate, Jeanne. It’s a great refreshment to view your lovelies today.

May your day be filled with refreshment.

    Blessings.

    1. Hi Becky,
Refreshment…that’s a nice blessing for my day today…and I’ll take it!
      Thank you so much!
      Blessings to you,
      ~Jeanne

  4. Great gloves. Amazed at how much you accomplish.
Lots of sun coming our way.
Hope you have time for some fun today.

    1. Hi Joy,
I wish I had taken more gloves with me yesterday…I could have gotten a lot more done in the 6 hours we wete there.I guess I’ll do more in my sewing room…
Thanks again for the chicken booklets. He read them for a little bit but was overcome with a bad case of “the sleepies!”
It’s overcast here but no rain since early this morning.
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Well, what happened to my post I wrote this morning? I’m sure I wrote one, but it’s not here, so I will write again! Those are darling gloves, Jeanne, and I was wondering if the bows are smaller on these smaller gloves. It looks like it!
We did have a storm yesterday early, and a huge tree branch came crashing down. That same gust of wind must have also sent our next door neighbor’s tree branch down. Today is a better day but awfully chilly and windy here. Are you ready for all the rain we are supposed to be having this weekend? At least the flowers will be growing, if they don’t drown first!

    1. HI Linda,
Thanks for your compliments on the gloves, Linda. The bows are the size of the ones I use on the slips. I think I’ve used these before, but they are pretty dainty. I picked up some sheer ones when I was out today.
I hope the branch that fell, didn’t hit your house!
It was chilly here this morning too, but now it’s really pretty out and I love the sunshine!
More rain… I guess the flowers and the weeds will love it! Not so much me!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne
