“Mommy says I get the next dress!” Ten Ping exclaimed!

Before I show you what I’m planning for Ten Ping’s next dress, she’s going to help me show you what came in the mail… (a box from Susette…Thank you so much!)

CIMG7945

“Oooooooooo….look at all these pretty ribbons! Maybe they’ll work on my dress…”

CIMG7947

“We’ll have to see…”

The ribbons are satin and they are very nice… I’m sure I will put them to good use.

CIMG7953

“Okay, now can I show everyone the fabric for my new dress and the things that we picked out to match it?”

“Sure, Ten Ping…why don’t you show everyone….”

CIMG7955

CIMG7957

“Well everyone…this is it… hot pink and black…I like hot pink and black! I know you don’t see very many Easter dresses in hot pink and black but that’s okay…I still want it.”

CIMG7959

“Mommy even spray painted a hot pink hat for me!”

CIMG7960

“Won’t I look cute in it?”

CIMG7967

“See how pretty this all goes together? I can’t wait for mommy to get started sewing on it…”

CIMG7969

“I’ll try and hurry Ten Ping…”

If you’re interested in your OWN little 8″ Ten Ping doll, you can find her at LONE STAR DOLLS in Texas. Ask for Dale and she’ll fix you right up!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Yes, Ten Ping, you are going to look very pretty in your new outfit.

This will be a fun dress, Jeanne…looking forward to seeing what you’ve come up with.

    Take care.

    1. HI Becky,
Thank you so much Becky… I hope whatever I do, Ten Ping approves…
I don’t know what I doing yet, but hope it comes to me pretty quickly!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh, you’re very welcome, Jeanne. Have fun with all that “dolly stuff.” Your choices for Ten Ping are, of course, perfect. She is so cute, and I did buy (adopt) a Ten Ping doll as soon as you posted her picture a while back. Dale was very helpful.

I certainly hadn’t thought about spray painting a hat, a great idea. I can’t believe how well the checked fabrics work as trim with prints.

For Joy: About finding a pleater, I won one at a good price on eBay that has 16 needles, two of which were missing and one was broken. No instructions, but it was an easy fix with the instructions on You Tube and one of the sellers is offering the needles separately for $1+ apiece, better than the $30 for a full set. I can’t wait to try to use it to make a net slip. If it works, it should be a lot easier than lining up those stitches in two rows so close to the edge. Thanks for all the tips, Jeanne.

    1. HI Susette,
Thank you again for the ribbons and the fabric. I haven’t had a chance to hold the black fabric up to anyone to see who’ll get it.
I’m glad you have a Ten Ping to sew for too… she is a little cutie, isn’t she?

Yes, spray painting hats is a great way to get a perfect match….although I’m trying to get one painted for Julie and so far strike 2 on both cans of paint… It’s easier to paint the hat and then match up the fabric to it.

Pretty soon, you’ll be an expert smocker…I can’t wait to see what you make first…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Thanks Susette! I think I want a 16. I appreciate your help. Maybe we have been bidding against each other. How funny.

  3. Happy Sunday to you, Jeanne. You are so good to Ten Ping; she looks absolutely thrilled with the fact that she’s getting a new dress! I have that same fabric that Susette sent you. The pinks in it are so pretty against the black. And, all of those pretty ribbons she sent to you, what a sweetheart she is.
I hope you get some dolly time today. I want to get a Little Darling sweater embroidered and maybe a dress for Pukipuki, we’ll see…

    1. Thank you Cindy,
We had a big Anniversary Dinner after church today…it’s our 28th Anniversary and since today is the 28th, I think Hallmark calls that your Golden Birthday… I went in yesterday to decorate the fellowship hall and today I helped with the food prep. I went in a 9:00 this morning and just now got home a little while ago… it’s 4:10 now! Long day with no sewing so far… hopefully, I’ll find time this evening.
I hope you got your sweaters embroidered…. They’ll be adorable, as always…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I read that email out loud and Strawberina about had a FIT! LOL!! I guess Ten Ping won’t be coming to live here…. LOL!!
I love pink and black together, too! will be fun to see what you come up with. 🙂

    1. HI Mary,
Well, I’ll keep Ten Ping happy here and you keep your Strawberina happy at your house.
I like Pink and Black mixed together too… I sort of swayed Ten Ping to lean in that direction…
Thanks so much Mary…I hope to get something started soon…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I can see why Ten Ping is so excited. Lovely colors and choices.
Get to see the grand kitties today. Yay.

    1. HI Joy,
I hope you had a fun day with your grands!! Ten Ping is excited to start trying on things… I’m anxious to figure out what I’m making for her!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Yay, Ten Ping gets a new dress! I love pink and the straw hat is too cute. Can’t wait to see what you create for her.

    1. Thanks Regina,
Ten Ping has been waiting patiently with the pale pink hat on her head for weeks… when I finally painted it last night, she was so excited thinking I was about ready to start on her dress… Little does she know, I don’t have a clue how I’m going to make it… don’t tell!!!

      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Those choices are perfect together. I love your outfits when done in pink and black/ and red and black. I’m sure little Ten Ping is excited about being the next model. My Asian AMG, Kei Kei would love that soon-to-be-dress in those choices only in a bigger size!
Going to a market this afternoon at one of the marina’s around here. Hope to find something special. You never know.
    Have a lovely Sunday, Jeanne.

    1. Thanks so much Paula,
I think Ten Ping will look pretty cute in these colors… now to just figure out the style.

Is it a Farmer’s market you’re going to, or a flea market kind of thing? Either sounds fun… If I lived closer we could go together!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. My Strawberina and I will be watching to see what kind of wonderful confection you create for Ten Ping!….and then ‘Rina will be driving this mommy crazy wanting a new outfit for herself. LOL

    1. Thank you Ellen…well, hopefully soon I will have a new dress ready to show…I’ve made some headway this evening…
      Blessings, Jeanne
