Meet my second Dianna Effner Little Darling doll… Janie

I have 3 Dianna Effner 13″ Little Darling dolls… Isabelle, whom you met a few days ago(here), Janie, whom you’ll meet today and Lian will be featured in the future.
Janie is a #1 sculpt from Dianna Effner, but was painted by Joyce Mathews. I bought her off Ebay a few years ago and this is how she looked the day she arrived. Sweet face… but not such a great head of hair.

I knew I could always change out her wig and add a new one so it didn’t bother me very much. You can see she modeled quite a few things for me before she ever got any new locks!

This little pink confection traveled all the way to Sweden…

I really liked the style of the wig she came with, but decided it was time to get a new one… so I ordered the exact same one. It’s a Monique Laura EX in a size 7/8.

After I got it, I decided, why just stick with one wig, so I ordered several more. The little blonde one was one I cut myself. She is my “changeable” Little Darling. I have never taken Isabelle’s wig off and Lian always wears her little black bob wig. Here’s Janie in a few other looks…

Of all the dresses I’ve made and sold for her, I think the peach and white dress is my all time favorite. It really brings out her peaches and cream complexion. Do you have a favorite on her?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Carolyn,
Thanks! That wig is the one from my Four Seasons 16″ Fall doll by Helen Kish. I just loved that wig and sold my doll bald to keep it. Janie does look pretty cute in it, doesn’t she?
      Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Hi Jeanne. As I was scrolling through your wonderful pictures I thought to myself that the peach dress with Janie in the long auburn curls is exceptionally pretty. You are so lucky to have three of these sweeties. I never tire of looking at them. Yes, I am at the other end of Illinois, as far north as you can get. The town north of me is in Wisconsin. (This is as far north as I’ve ever lived. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs.) I’m enjoying waking up to your posts every morning.

    1. HI Cindy,
Do you just have Gina? You NEED to get her a sister, like I did!
BBBRrrrrr, you are up there where it gets really cold… no thank you!
      Thanks for reading, blessings, Jeanne

  2. I love Janie with the red wig wearing the peach dress, but I have to say that I love the pink dress that went to Sweden.

    1. HI Regina,
The lady emailed me before the auction ended with the pink dress begging me to ship it to her. I don’t remember how much extra she paid for shipping but it was a lot! I guess she loved it!
      Thanks so much, Blessings, Jeanne

  3. I like them all. Isn’t it amazing how she looks so different in each style, even her personality seems to change.

I am looking for a new wig for my #3 sculpt, something sweet and upbeat, like her face. Would you mind telling us which wig Janie is wearing in the picture with the platinum-blonde pigtails and purple outfit (11th picture, if I counted correctly)? Thanks.

    1. Hi Joanne,
The wig you are talking about is one that I cut myself. I did a blog post on it back on August 31st. You can see that post here. Sorry it’s not just a wig you can buy for yourself… but hope this helps…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Hi Jeanne, Thanks for your very prompt reply. I will have to learn from your courageous example and practice with a wig on hand that I know my doll would never wear “as is.”
    Thanks again. Joanne
