Lian’s Big Reveal

Yesterday I showed you the first step in getting ready to make a doll dress for Lian…first by picking out the fabric and then gathering up all the things we thought we might need. Today I wanted to show you what became of that pile of stuff. Lian is very pleased, but I still can’t get a smile out of her…

Lian wanted a cool summer dress, so we opted to go with a sleeveless style and she wanted it to have the white Swiss lace that had the “circles” in it…The micro-check mini piping was used at the waist, and blue buttons were added to the back to cover the hidden snaps. A navy sheer bow was tied at the waist and dangles long.

Instead of the tulle with the white designs in it, Lian picked out the shimmer tulle because it was softer to touch. A few blue and white felt flowers were added to make this slip a little more special to this dress set.

We thought about a blue wool felt hat to go with this dress, but in the end, Lian just wanted a pretty hair bow. It fastens behind her neck with a snap.

I had 2 teddy bears; one blue and one white… Lian picked the white one and wanted a blue ribbon tied around his neck.

One more peek at it…

Well, that’s how I do it. I’m pleased, Lian is pleased and if you go to Ebay and become the winner of this sweet summer dress, I hope you’ll be pleased. (You can click on the “Current Auction” at the right to go straight to the listing.)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. This is just lovely Jeanne…I enjoyed reading about gathering all the materials and accessories BEFORE sewing…I tend to start the sewing and then scurry around for those extras…

You will have to keep working hard to get Lian to smile…some of these little girls are very serious about this dress business.
