Lian LOVES to model pretty “undies”…

If you want to see a HAM… look at these pictures of Lian as she was modeling the slip and thigh highs for her new dress set! She was really hamming it up… I took 56 pictures and whittled it down to these few… She didn’t want me to delete any of them…

I hope you enjoy seeing her as she was enjoying herself! I’m getting there everyone!!!

Well, did she brighten your day? I hope so…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Look at the first picture of Lian with her teddy bear. With very little alteration, this would make a great Christmas dress. Making underclothes to go under underclothes would be interesting. Lian is perfect in white.

You were right the other day that Emmie would make a splendid model for the red dress and pinafore so that people could see a second doll in that outfit. There is a famous Renoir of two little girls in dark blue with white lace and red hats, if I remember correctly. That would also make a pretty outfit for Emmie with the longer brown curls.

We need to add two more weeks to Advent for more sewing time. For now, how is your mother in her pretty new home?

    1. I’m late, Marilyn, but finally here! Long day…
Thanks for the nice compliments on Lian’s slip… She loves fluttering around in it! I think she’s so sweet in white too! I know of that painting you are referring to… adorable girls!
I was going to use another doll to model this dress, but just between you and me, I had to buy a new computer and this Windows 10 has done me in… I feel like everything I know about computers is kaput! I know nothing! My camera is too outdated for the newness of the computer so it won’t connect the way it should… Somehow miraculously, I got Lian’s dress loaded on Ebay.. but don’t ask me how I did it. It will be all new the next time I do it again… It was all I could do to just get these pictures on, let alone take more and add them to the lot… I don’t even know where my pictures are on my computer… They just popped up and I snagged them in the moment.
I think all my pictures loaded… all 65,850, but there are no dates and titles on them. So I can’t go in and type “Addy” and all her Civil War dresses pop up…That’s what I’m most frustrated about… and the camera thing…
I’ve just been playing with it for 2 days, so maybe in a week, I’ll be over it… Let’s hope so!

      And… yes, I could really use 2 more weeks…
My mom seems to be doing okay…. she has her ups and downs and asks me frequently why we had to put her in there… that’s hard to answer… kindly!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Marilyn is exactly right about that first outfit with her holding her teddy bear! I certainly would feel terrible about covering that pretty slip up! Have you ever made an all white dress for any of your dolls, Jeanne? They are so pretty and crisp looking and I think you would do a wonderful job of it! I love white dresses for any time of the year!

    1. HI Linda,
Yes, I have made a few all white dresses for my dolls… a couple Regency dresses, one for Felicity, and probably a few I’m forgetting. I did buy that white vintage Victorian looking slip/skirt at an antique mall back in the summer… with all that beautiful white lace on it… maybe I’ll make something from it for Spring! I love white dresses too!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Well, what little girl doesn’t love to have a twirly petticoat like that!! Dressed as she is, Lian can pretend she’s a ballerina, too!! Or perhaps a bride…..if you have a spare piece of lace she can use it as a veil!!

So nice to see you got a chance to get in the sewing room! I need to get into mine, too–I have a swap gift to finish, something for our ASG Christmas party to make, finish my husband’s jacket, and hopefully make pillowcases for the 5 grands for Christmas!! Phew!

    1. HI Charlotte,
I’ve never done a brides dress…. for a doll. I see lots of ladies who make them, but I never have. You mention your Christmas to-do list today and it was daunting… I almost wish I hadn’t made it… It’s longer than a piece of paper… ugh! I hope you get your sewing all finished…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. If you make that petticoat for your Etsy Store, I want to be first on the list to buy one. Love it. Yes, Jeanne has made several all-white dresses, one for Elisabeth, one for Felicity and a couple of others. I copy them and put them under Jeanne in my photo files so they pop up on my Screen Saver and I can enjoy them along with all of my other pictures. They all have pearl necklaces made by Rebecca. The dress I made with three rows of ruffles for Riya goes in the mail this morning to wear with the pearls Rebecca made for her.

I entered “Renoir and two sisters” in search and the Renoir is called “Two Sisters on a Terrace” and the hat does look remarkably like the one you made, Jeanne. Maybe blue dresses for sisters should be in your future. So glad you are sewing again.

    1. Thanks Susette,
I know I should make some slips… I get requests for them all the time… the problem is my time! I need someone to manage my time for me… I don’t think I’m doing a very good job of it myself… :o(
It will be nice that Riya’s dress will arrive with very few wrinkles…since it’s made from that velvet fabric that is very forgiving! I hope they take a picture of her in the dress…There is a new Simplicity pattern from AG that has a 3 tiered skirt. It’s a pretty cute pattern and similar to Riya’s… I thought of your dress the instant I saw it.

Thanks Susette, I’m hoping to make it through my list of things to do before Christmas… Sister dresses will have to probably wait till Spring… :o(
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Lian looks so darling! The slip is so feminine and dainty and I love it. Now the thigh highs for me are over the top. LOVE, LOVE your thigh highs. PLEASE put them in your Etsy Shop. I assure you that they will fly out of your shop. If I was not able to purchase at least one pair, I would CRY. They are simply perfect in every way.

Great photography and it seems like Lian comes to life.

    1. HI Laureen,
Believe it or not, I did pick up some tights to use for thigh highs…now to find time to make them… I know how much you like them…
Thanks so much Laureen… you are always such an encourager…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Yes, indeed, Lian looks adorable in white. The second picture reminds me of Lian in a ballet class practicing her move. The way you have her posed looks like she is quite proud of the one to be modeling all that white netting.
Can’t wait to see her whole outfit.

    1. HI Paula,
When I put that slip on Lian, she just sort of did her own thing… she is very photogenic so that really helps… and what little girls don’t look adorable in a tulle slip? I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures…
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. What a cute “outfit!” I agree, the slip could be a dress. Lian reminded me of one of the women on the show “Say Yes To The Dress.” It looks like she is saying yes to the underdress. Lian is a real character. You may have to get her an agent! (smile)

    1. HI Dorothy,
I have never heard of the show, “Say Yes to the Dress” but it sounds like something fun! When was it on the air? I might have to google it and see what it was all about…
Lian is quite a character… you got that one right…
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the adorable Lian was please add one to your shoppe! And then I saw that Susette and Laureen had also made the request. I would love to purchase some thigh highs and a similar slip. So cute. And what about a slip in pale pink. I can just see one of your girls wearing one and carrying her ballet slippers. Maybe have the slips in a couple of lengths too. You know, just whip them up in all of that spare time you seem to have. 🙂
Hope the week ahead is calm and bright.

    1. HI Joy,
I guess I know what I need to do in my spare time… sew slips and thigh highs! Lots of them!
I think a pale pink slip would be adorable… thanks for the idea…
Yep…now to “FIND” that spare time… I made a list today of what I need to do over the next 2 weeks or so, and found it to be a little overwhelming…. yikes. I’ve run out of time… but it wasn’t entirely my fault… :o(
Oh, I’d LOVE a calm and bright week… I’m ordering one! Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Good Morning Jeanne,
Such a pretty slip and those thigh highs… adorable! I agree with Laureen you should add these sweet little under things to your etsy shop. I know they would sell. I hope you are feeling better and perhaps you got some rest over the weekend.
    Enjoy your Monday
    Hugs
    Ingrid
    PS love the hair bow

    1. Hello Ingrid,
Thanks for your sweet compliments on Lian’s slip! I’m glad you like it. It’s obvious she does!!! Maybe one of these days, in my free time, I’ll get some slips and thigh highs made…
No extra rest over the weekend, but I’m hoping to get to bed earlier tonight…
      Thanks so much Ingrid,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Well Lian is certainly a pretty girl. She is a great model , and the slip and thigh highs are gorgeous! I’m so glad you’re back in the sewing room getting some to do what you enjoy!

    1. Thank you Carolyn,
It’s nice to sew for dolls that everyone thinks are pretty… Lian is certainly a little cutie…at least to me, she is… it’s not just anyone who can wear a slip and look beautiful in it! :o)
It felt right at home to be in my sewing room again…
      Thanks Carolyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne
