The last of my 2016 Doll Dresses… Day 5

We have finally come to the end of the dresses for 2016. It looks like a lot but was actually only 37 dresses…that’s only 3 dresses a month… I wish I could do more. I’ll show you the last 6 dresses today and then you can vote on your favorite in the comments below or send me an email through “Contact Me.” I will tabulate all the votes for each day and on Monday I’ll show the winner(s) from each day. (Some days already have dresses that are a tie unless someone goes back and votes) You can vote on Monday and I’ll show you “The Dress of the Year for 2016” on Tuesday. I hope you have enjoyed this little game I turned this into… I thought it would be more fun than just looking at dresses and telling me which one was your favorite.

If you missed any of the last 4 days and want to go back and vote, you can do so… I’ll put the links to each day below.

DAY 1

DAY 2

DAY 3

DAY 4

Okay… last day… Day 5!

Today we are going to start out with Ellowne’s blue and lavender flower dress. I called this one “Romantic Charm.” I had a little trouble with my camera right when I was trying to get this one listed so I had to relist it twice.

Moving into November, Willa got another turn at modeling… Nahji too! This time it was for a nightgown. This was a no-brainer for a title… “Nightie Night!”

It’s Rebecca’s turn again and this time, she’s jumped into the Regency Era for this lovely dress set called “Christmas Rose.”

There are 3 dresses to go and there’ll be no more 2016 dresses to look at. These dresses were similar but not quite… I tried to coordinate 3 different Christmas prints so they could be used together if someone bought more than one. They all went to different homes… I hope you’ll enjoy them…

First up was Lian, in “Christmas Joy.” It was the “red” one! :o) (and Betsy McCall too…)

Janie was next in the gold dress. I called it “Christmas Hope.” I had just cut a new little blonde wig for her and thought she looked pretty cute in this color.

The very last dress I made for the year was for Isabelle… dear, sweet, Isabelle. She got the green dress, which I called “Christmas Peace.”

So that’s it for “A Year in the Life of Jeanne Marie’s Doll Dresses.” I hope you have enjoyed seeing them all again so please go ahead and vote for your favorite from today’s showing and any days you missed. I can’t wait to see who you all vote for as the “Dress of the Year 2016!”

Since I won’t see you until next year, (Monday), I wanted to wish all of you a very Happy New Year and hope you are blessed beyond your wildest imaginations this coming year!

Every year I try to bless the top 3 customers who have bought from me. I’m tallying up those dress totals and will send a gift to those ladies…
Thank you, EVERYONE, who has bid, won, commented, encouraged, sent gifts, cards, pictures, and just smiled through the computer at me each day. I can’t thank you enough for being on the other side of my monitor! I hope you’ll be back next year!

See you Monday, (be ready to VOTE)
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Rebecca’s dress is just SO beautiful, and Christmassy, there is no contest here for my favorite! Not to say I don’t like the others, no, not at all! It’s just that you made a very, one of a kind outfit, complete with such exquisite trimmings, the lace and beading, the sweet little hat and purse, the lace and ribbons, the pantalettes, just the whole ensemble is top notch and perfect! I love the pattern of the fabric too, and while this dress would be just as pretty in another pattern or even a pretty silk, the rose pattern is really what makes this dress pop. I just love it!

I also can’t forget sweet little Betsy McCall in that darling red dress! She has such a pixie smile and looks adorable in it!

    1. Thanks Linda,
As I looked back at all my dresses I tealized just how versatile Rebecca is. She looks pretty in any era!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. For me, this is a contest between Willa’s soft, warm nightgown that is so nice and comfortable that she’s looking forward to going to bed, if only she didn’t have to take off her slippers, and Christmas Hope, which received the largest number of bids of the three dresses, all of which did well. I think the gold petticoat is going to be the thing that tips the balance. OK, I’m voting for Christmas Hope.

Jeanne, is your computer back to working at full capacity, or are you still working around problems?

    1. HI Marilyn,
First off, YES.. my computer is back up and running. I can load pictures again. I got a hold of Sarah in Kenya and before she could do anything it started working again. She seems to think the site was down for maintenance…
But I think all should be fine now…
Oh, goody, another vote for Christmas Rose… you thought of that name didn’t you? I wanted to mention that, but didn’t have the time right then to go back and check.
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. I vote “Romantic Charm.” It may not be the most elaborate but both the dress and the overall staging touched me.

    1. Thank you Charlotte A,
Oh good, Ellowyne is thrilled to get a vote in the line up with Rebecca’s dress.
Thanks so much for playing along!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Well here we are about to set off for a new year! Congratulations on a year of absolutely lovely outfits for the dollies.
Although I love the other dresses, Rebecca’s rose outfit is my favorite. Love the colors as well as the lace overlay and beading. The little cap is the perfect addition. Lovely outfit that can be worn for many occasions.
See you in the new year.
    Joy

    1. Thank you Joy,
      I can’t believe tomorrow starts a new year…
Thank you so much for all your kind compliments this past year. I truly appreciate them.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Rebecca’s “Christmas Rose” ensemble! I love everything about it…the colors, the print, the era, and the accessories. Well done!

  6. My vote has to go to Lian in “Christmas Joy” mostly because I bought this dress! And I was so excited when I won the auction! 🙂 I posted a photo on the “Our Little Darlings” website of my Tessa wearing the dress, so if you missed it, you can see her here.

This has been fun, Jeanne. I wish you and all your readers a blessed, safe, happy, and healthy 2017, and look forward to many wonderful new dresses for our special girls. I hope to even buy maybe one or two… 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Theresa,
I looked at your sweet Tessa in her dress and she was darling in it. Thanks for sharing the link so we could all see it.
I’m glad you have enjoyed this year’s dolls dresses. I hope to see you next year..
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Rebecca’s ‘Christmas Rose’ has SO much detailing to it – it absolutely gets my vote today.
I think I’d ‘hate’ to see you try to ‘increase production’ – I fear that the ‘attention to detail’ would suffer if you tried to produce ‘more’. Thank you for a ‘year of dresses’! I do enjoy looking at what you’re ‘up to’ each day. I know it takes a LOT of energy – and grateful that you’re willing to include us!

    1. Hi Mary,
I’m so glad you were “okay” with just 37 dresses. It’s the best I can do for now and maybe some day I’ll be able to make more. I remember one year several several years ago I made over a hundred.
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. I’m voting for Christmas Rose, although Najhi is so cute with the little, and I mean little, slippers. How do you do it? Love the purse with the beading and the hair ornament, such perfect accessories. Happy New Year and thanks again for all you do for us.

    1. Hi Susette,
Thanks for your vote for Rebecca’s dress. She has the biggest smile on her face today… I think she just might be the winner today.
Thank you for your kind comments all year Susette…and all your pictures…and I’m so glad to be able to inspire tou! That’s my favorite part.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. I think I missed out on the Christmas Rose…must have been when we were recovering from the accident. It is for sure my favorite. Love roses, ribbons and prints and hats!
Happy New Years to you and your family too!

    1. Hi Kathie,
Thank you so much for all your sweet comments on Rebecca’s dress. I love roses, ribbons and hats too. I’m so glad you are all on the mend.
      Thank you,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Oh Jeanne, what a fabulous final week of the year you have given us with your 2016 fashion parade! We followed along with interest and excitement as you made each little dress, but has been such a final treat to review them all again together. Thank you for that gift!

For everything that has been said about it, and more, my favorite for today, and for the year, must be the exquisite “Christmas Rose.” From the charming rose print, to the lovely lace bodice, to the beautiful bead work, to the sweet Juliet cap, to the elegant embellished reticule, every detail is perfection. It is a stunning masterpiece!

Nevertheless, every single dolly design is impeccably made and a testament to your amazing skill, Jeanne. God has given you a special gift with your sewing, and you have used it well. With 37 delightful one-of-a-kind dolly designs, I hope you feel very proud of all you’ve accomplished this past year!

You’ve also given us more than “A Year in the Life of Jeanne Marie’s Doll Dresses.” Through your blog, you’ve shared with us “A Year in the Life of Jeanne Marie,” and it has been an honor and a privilege to witness how you have navigated the waters of life with such grace and aplomb. You are an inspiration, Jeanne Marie!

For 2017, I wish you and all your readers beautiful moments, treasured memories, and all the happiness your hearts can hold. In all you do, may God’s bounteous blessings be with you throughout the new year!

    1. Hi Anne,
Thanks so much for making me think this was okay to show all the dresses and have everyone vote on their favorites. Sometimes the “kid” in me comes out and I find myself suggesting something too “childish” for grownups.I’ve been told I should have been an art teacher for gradeschooler. They call me the Game Queen at church. Maybe I just have an over active mind!
I better not tell Rebecca you called her dress a masterpiece. She’ll get such a big head, she might get booted off the dolly shelf.
What sweet thoughts you have shared about this past year Anne. I never dreamed when I started this blog, that I would be so touched by so many wonderful ladies. It is amazing how I feel knowing you are all out there.
Thank you so much Anne, for your very eloquent words. I am humbled by them.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. This has been so much fun, seeing all the dresses of the year again. Today is another no contest one for me. Christmas Rose is just lovely, everything about it is so sweet and perfect, from the beaded lace bonnet to the trailing ribbons.
I love the dainty little Juliet cap and the reticule is the ideal finishing touch.
Can’t wait to see all your creative dresses for next year. Felicity gets my vote to be first one up especially since she is coming out of the archives. I don’t care for the leaked pictures and I couldn’t top my own Felicity anyway, but I am interested to see her new collection and I’m delighted that those who haven’t seen her will be introduced to my favorite girl.
Happy New Year to you, Jeanne and to your family. God’s richest blessing for the year ahead to you and all your readers.

    1. Hi Laura,
I don’t care for the leaked pictures of the new Felicity either…I think she looks so plain and ordinary. But…she just might revive the interest in Colonial doll dresses and that’s good news for me!
I wish you the richest blessings from the Lord as well…
Thanks for all your “knowledge” about so many things pertaining to the AG dolls this past year. I ALWAYS learn something from you!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. Hi Jeanne,

My vote today is for Rebecca’s “Christmas Rose”….although again, they are all magnificent. Thank you for taking time to show them all to us again. It’s been delightful.

And, I will be back, next year, 2017, to enjoy more times with you in your sewing room and out.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you Becky,
I have appreciated your encouraging words and those special emails we have sometimes shared.
I’m glad you’ll be back and hope I have lots of “in my sewing room” times ahead.
      Thanks Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  13. This one was the easiest of all for me, it’s “Christmas Rose”! I just love that rose fabric. Happy New Year to you and yours!! May God Bless us all in 2017.

    1. Thanks Ali,
I think it’s pretty safe to say that Christmas Rose will be in the running…
Happy New Year to you too!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  14. Hi Jeanne,
Happy New Year! I’ve been away for a bit. I spent 3 days traveling back and forth to the hospital. We welcomed my newest grand baby December 29th at 7pm on the dot. Hopefully he’ll be going home today 🙂
What a fun blog… five days of 2016 dresses. I loved looking at them all. Seeing the ones that sadly got away nuts!…but also the one I won yeah for me! I really love Rebecca’s “Christmas Rose” it is one of my top favorites you made this year.
All the very best to you and your sweet family for a happy, healthy and blessed New Year!
    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. Thanks Ingrid,
Well, you certainly got the most wonderful gift of all this Christmas… a new grandson! Congratulations!
I’m so glad you’ve joined in on the fun of guessing which dress might make it as the top one of 2016!
I’ve got your vote counted so now it’s just a matter of time to see which dress will win!
      Blessings, Jeanne
