I’ve been seeing LOTS of orange & black lately…

Everywhere I look there is orange and black… in the clothing stores, at Hobby Lobby, in Kroger, down town in the windows… everywhere EXCEPT my closet. I do have LOTS of black but I looked and I only have ONE tank top in orange… that’s it. I’m not an orange person! :o) Are you?

I have received a few favorite “orange and black” pictures and thought I’d share them… and then I’ll share “my” favorite orange and black photos.

Susette sent me this picture of a (ceramic, I think) pumpkin she made years ago and also she knitted (her ONE AND ONLY knitted item) the pumpkin head scarecrow. They make cute table decorations, don’t they?

If you click on the pictures, they will enlarge.

She also grows these long stemmed pumpkins… aren’t they the neatest looking things?

Molly is lookinq quite casual as she waits for some pizza!

I can’t remember if she told me this was Molly or Samantha… (I think it’s Samantha) dressed up as a witch. She doesn’t look very scary to me…

Thanks Susette!

Linda’s girls have been raiding the costume trunk, I think… look at the costumes they came up with… (I’m sure Linda had nothing to do with dressing them! Ha!)

Can you guess who is behind these beautiful green eyes?

How about this angel?

Here are a couple more…

Here is also a doll house Linda decorated…

Linda also sent me a picture of her hutch decorated for Fall…

I don’t have one orange thing out for a decoration… Oh wait, yes I do….

Okay, now it’s my turn to share my favorite orange and black doll dress… How many of you already know which one I’m referring to?

Yes, it’s this one… modeled by my 13″ Dianna Effner, Little Darling, Lian… I don’t think she EVER looked so sweet as she did for these pictures… (sorry for the picture overload, but I just LOVED them all!)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What fun pictures, Jeanne–thanks for sharing, and thanks to the ladies who sent pictures of their decorations to you, so we could all enjoy them, too!!

I’m definitely Not an “orange person”–I don’t think I own anything orange! I do have one Halloween-print scarf that has some orange in it, does that count?! LOL

Seeing Linda’s girls in their costumes reminds me, I need to figure out what April Eleanor (my #21 AG doll) is going to wear on Halloween when we go and have lunch with my friend Marika at the mall. (I have never made April a costume, so she may have to borrow something from AbbyRose or Molly this time–and then maybe I’d better get on the stick and sew for her!) Last year we had lunch at the AG Place Bistro, but it won’t be open for lunch that day this year, so we’ll go look around the store, and then go to the food court for lunch. She’ll bring her Annie (or perhaps one of her other girls) and I’ll bring April (since it’s her turn to go–my girls take turns going to lunch with us).

    1. HI Charlotte,
*sigh* Well….. I guess we’ll let your scarf count…..*sigh* Just kidding. I was just at Joann’s and there really aren’t that many orange fabrics either… it’s a lost color I guess.

I hope you have fun at your lunch… let us know what April ends up wearing… (inquiring minds want to know!)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. A fun post today, Jeanne! And I’m another “no orange” person! I can’t think of the last time I wore orange, if ever! I think it looks better on darker complexioned people, but little Lian looks absolutely darling in that dress! One of my favorites too! Oh, how I wish you were my personal seamstress!
Susette’s pumpkins are adorable! I love those pumpkins on a stick, so original and even a bit spooky looking, just perfect for the season. Molly looks like she is going to have a lot of fun on Halloween night! Love the costume with the black lace skirt too!

Scrolling down, I thought I saw that hutch somewhere! Ha! And I really enjoy dressing my dolls in their costumes. I have too many, if you can tell, but I try to change it up every year. By the way, Charlotte, that’s my #21, Susan, in the blue Grecian Princess costume. Thank you so much, Jeanne, for showing my dolls!

I guess it’s time to get-a-packing! We leave for Branson tomorrow, and hope to also get in a drive to Arkansas to see Crystal Bridges in Bentonville too. Have you ever been there? I may not get to comment much until the weekend, but I’ll be reading for sure!

    1. HI Linda,
I’m glad you enjoyed the post today… thank you for your contributions! :o)

I think those pumkins on a stick would be fun with decorate with too! I wonder if my sister, Cindy, saw them…

It’s nice when everyone gets to see what others have going on in their houses with their dolls…
I hope you have fun in Branson… we have some friends who just got back from there. They were supposed to go to Florida, but where they were staying was condemned… so they ended up in Branson…still had fun, but no swimming…
No I’ve never been to see Crystal Bridges in AR… take a picture and share it with me so I can pass it along to everyone when you get back… :o)
Thanks Linda… Have fun and be safe!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Another big surprise! And Lian is the best and cutest thing in the whole post! Love how the bow peeks up above the neckline. Before the questions come, the pumpkins are actually a relative of eggplant and came from Trader Joe’s and sometimes Costco. I made Samantha’s costume after a lady who designed and sold them on eBay was kind enough to let me know where she got the lace for the skirt. It was a Halloween door curtain from Kohl’s and eBay that she cut up and used for the skirt. Linda is a wonderful decorator and costumer. Thanks for sharing as hardly anyone gets to see my decorations and I love decorating for Halloween, or did you guess?

    1. Hi Susette,
Thanks for your kind compliments on Lian’s dress. I truly think this is one of my very favorites… not too fancy, but just right! IMHO… :o)

I think everyone on here is a wonderful decorator…and it’s fun to get to see what everyone does with their “stuff” and their dolls! I’m glad you shared… my weekend was too busy to get anything done in my sewing room…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. How funny. Only orange in my closet is a Giants shirt.
Wonderful seeing all of the exciting decorations since we don’t have any. Such creativity. The dolly costumes are adorable too. That dress for Lian is such a winner in many ways. Maybe another one similar should be in the works for next year.
    Happy Monday.

    1. HI Joy,
Well, it seems out of the 5 of us, there’s not much orange for any of us, is there?
I had to go to Joann’s today and I looked at the orange fabrics, believe it or not… I didn’t see anything I needed so I passed. I did see a nice weight black and orange check that was 70% off that was very nice to the touch… I just didn’t see me making a dress out of it in the next day or 2 so I decided I’d wait…
Happy Monday back to you too… I saw a wood cut out in Joann’s that said JOY and I instantly thought of you! I’m really glad you and your home (and your dolly’s ) were okay!
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Very sweet of you. Our Joann’s is still closed because of the fire. Have no idea when it will reopen. It was right by Kmart that burned to the ground. 🙁 I painted a couple of small spaces today at the other house. We’re about done with the major fix ups there. Just need a garage/estate sale and then hopefully get it on the market. Been a long haul.
Dollys are looking pretty happy now that they are out of that pillowcase. Someone needs to fix their hair a bit though. Maybe soon.

        1. Hi Joy,
I bet your dolls are really glad to be out of that pillow case too!
Maybe your Joann’s will have a “fire sale” and you’ll find all kinds of bargains!!!
          Blessings, Jeanne
