It’s GIVEAWAY Week…

It’s almost here…the anniversary of the day I started writing this blog. In honor of my 1st anniversary on August 1st, I am planning to have a week of giveaways. The way it will work is, each day this week, I will show you something either myself or my daughter Rebecca has made. If it is something you might like to try and win, just LEAVE A COMMENT at the bottom of my blog on the day that item is featured. You can also send me an email and leave a comment too. It doesn’t have to be a long comment…just a comment. (Today’s post will run from 1:00 a.m. Monday morning until 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning) (central time zone, IL)

[I just did a post on how to navigate my website a few days ago. If you get my blog post through your email with the blue title, you can click on the blue title and it will take you straight to my website. The comments can be left at the bottom. That is actually the easiest way to read it or leave a comment.]

***!!!*** I have a new feature on my blog…a SEARCH box! You can type in whatever you like and if that word is mentioned in a post I wrote, it will pull up all the posts where it was mentioned. I think you’ll like this new feature…I had to try it out myself tonight and it’s pretty fun!

The first GIVEAWAY is for a pair of Fingerless Gloves for your American Girl dolls. These are made of white stretch lace and have 2 tiny pearls sewn on. They slip on your dolls hands and look extra special when your doll is all dressed up. I normally have several in stock in our Etsy shop but I’ve been very BAD lately and our store is almost empty. However, you can look at the sold things and see what we have sold in the past. Maybe if enough people asked me about them, I’d get on the stick and get some new ones made. Our Etsy shop can be seen HERE.

Okay, so let’s get those comments started… If you’d like to try and win them, just leave a comment on today’s post. I’ll let you know who the winner is tomorrow.

I hope you’ll come back tomorrow to see what the Giveaway for Tuesday will be!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Wow! Looks like I’m the first one to leave a comment, for a change!!

Congrats on almost a full year of daily blogs, Jeanne!!

    Charlotte

    1. HI Charlotte,
You are my “late night owl” I think…or maybe an early riser. Linda is usually my first to comment, but you beat her today by a little over an hour today.
Thank you for your congrats on my first year! I’d like to shout it to the whole world, but I guess I won’t! :o(
I have you down for the drawing…
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Jeanne, An early happy 1st anniversary! What an accomplishment! I was the lucky winner of your first giveaway of the beautiful gloves! Looking forward to your second year. Lisa Godaire

    1. HI Lisa,
Thank you for being a faithful reader this past year! I truly appreciate it!
It doesn’t matter that you won the first pair of gloves, you have just as much of a chance as anyone else….
Thanks so much for your hopes for a second year. I’m looking forward to it too!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. These are lovely and my girls would so enjoy them. The problem would be WHO would wear them first. Beautiful

    1. Thank you April,
I hope maybe your girls will learn to share if you win the gloves!
      Thank you so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Love those fingerless gloves, Jeanne! I’m a bit greedy, since I already have several pairs, but you can never have enough, especially if you have more than one doll and all are supposed to be wearing them!

    1. Thank you Linda,
There is nothing wrong with entering to win more even if you have some already. You just have a head start on some of the others…
Oh…one lady just emailed me and said she LOVED the pickle recipe and she cut the sugar down to 1 cup and said they were still sweet enough for her. That recipe is going round the world! I’m going to try and get mine made today too. (A double batch!)
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Jeanne, thank you for the kind words about the pickles, but it really isn’t my recipe. I found it on Facebook, and just thought I would try them. Glad I did! Oh, I know about the sugar, I thought they were good enough without 2 whole cups of sugar, and whatever it takes for someone to like it, that’s the way to go! By the way, some lazy people—like me— don’t even peel the cucumbers! Still good!

    1. Thank you Ila,
I’m so glad you like the gloves. As of now, you have a 1 in 9 chance of winning them, but it’s early in the morning, so we’ll see. Thanks for commenting.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I tried your search box, Jeanne, and it works great. I typed in brownie because I remember your brownies in a jar that you wrote about eons ago. It came right up! Did you add that by yourself? On my blog it is called a widget. Thanks for your encouraging words. I actually wrote a blog post yesterday that wasn’t just about a finished ensemble. You know I enjoy going back to read my posts. It’s like a diary of sorts. Do you do that?

    1. HI Cindy,
Yes, I added that Search Box all by myself!!! I was pretty proud. I just studied and googled how to do it, and yes, it’s a widget. I was actually trying to find the hits counter, but couldn’t get that one figured out. I stumbled across the search box and remembered what you just mentioned to me and thought I’d try it. It was pretty easy and it’s great. So now, if you have a search engine, do you still need the “tags” or are those there to help you think of what to search for. I guess they are.
I did see your post yesterday and it was wonderfully written. You take the best pictures. I loved the one with the apples all on the ground around the tree.
I do go back and read my posts too. It is like a diary to me too. I tell people all the time, if you want to know what’s going on, just read my blog posts.
      Thanks Cindy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Those fingerless gloves are SOO pretty! I never would have thought to add the pearls for that perfect touch! All my girls would love them, but especially the “older” girls, methinks.

    1. HI Diane,
Thanks for your compliments on the gloves. I’m glad you left a comment so you could be entered in the drawing.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Congratulations on the One Year Anniversary! I’ve enjoyed every one of your post and am glad you inspired me to make clothes for my Granddaughter’s American Girl Dolls. Love the little gloves that give such a great touch to the clothes.

    See you tomorrow, Susette

    1. Thank you Susette,
I’m glad you have a granddaughter to sew doll clothes for. It’s fun, isn’t it?
I’ve got your name in the drawing…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Awww Jevne,
So sorry you don’t have an AG doll…maybe some day?
I’m glad you told me, because I think I had forgotten…
      Have a wonderful day!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Fingerless is the way to go….can you imagine trying to get those fingers in a tiny glove?? 🙂

    1. HI Kathie,
I’ve tried making the gloves with fingers in them…not too much fun.
Fingerless is definitely the best option.
I’ve got your name in the drawing…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Oh well done, Jeanne – you haven’t missed a day! I am so glad I “discovered” your blog, which I did through looking at pictures on Google images. I love the way you embellish your outfits, and the gloves are so sweetly elegant.

    1. Thank you Louise,
I appreciate your comments and am so glad you have been enjoying the blog posts each day. Thank you for your kind comments…you’re in the drawing…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Mimi,
I’m so glad you are enjoying my blog. I hope you make lots of “pretties” for your dolls.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Hi Jeanne,
Those fingerless gloves are just beautiful. I would love to have a pair of those for my girls to wear. I think they would look stunning with felicity’s summer gown. Thank you for adding the search feature. Now it will be so easy to find pictures of Felicity. Congratulations on your ONE year anniversary. You have a lot of dedication and I enjoy reading your blog very much.

    1. Thank you Laura,
I appreciate your kind words about my doll gloves and how much you enjoy reading my blog posts each day. I hope I can keep it up…
      Blessings, Jeanne

I am happy to say that I won the first pair of fingerless gloves–in your first drawing. Has it really been a year? I wasn’t sure how to thank you for them, so thank you very much–my dolls love them and can often be seen and heard discussing who will get to wear them next. My rule is–don’t eat cake while you are wearing the gloves.
Jeannie, thank you for writing such an interesting blog. I have thought about writing one, but just never have been able to figure everything out. I love the dresses you make for the dolls–makes me want to sew more. I used to make the dresses for the dolls from Daisy Kingdom. I loved all of their cute designs. I found several of the dresses I cut out but never sewed.
    Hugs, Diana

    1. Thank you Diana,
I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of you this past year and I hope to make many more new friends this next year. I like your doll rule…don’t eat cake while you’re wearing the gloves! So cute!
Maybe someday when you find the time, you might pick those items up and get them sewn…who knows…it could happen.
      Thanks Diana,
      blessings, Jeanne

  12. Congratulations, Keeping up with a blog is hard and you have done an amazing job. I do not have an American Girl Doll, so please do not enter me in the drawing. I just wanted to wish you well and tell you how much I enjoy your creations and your blog. Cheers! Kathleen

    1. Hi Kathleen,
Thanks so much for your congrats on my first year of blogging. I hope I can keep it up the coming year. I’ve really had a lot of fun doing it and am so glad you’ve enjoyed it.
      Blessings, Jeanne
