It was a tie on the green and blue fabric…

It was a tie and I was ready to wake Rebecca up and have her decide which fabric should be used for Janie’s dress. (Not a good idea since she has to get up early for school tomorrow…) I had already talked to her earlier when it was still a tie and she gave me her thoughts but never actually picked one over the other. I was getting ready to write my post and let you know I was going to put the colors in a hat and draw out the winner, when I checked my email one last time…at 11:15 p.m. and lo, and behold, Shannon, had sent me an email with her thoughts on the fabrics and she chose the blue! So Shannon broke the tie and Janie’s dress will be made from the blue. I hope all you “green” people won’t be too sad. I promise I’ll make the blue dress pretty! You might even like it…

I know several of you suggested an Anne of Green Gables dress and that would be lovely, but I don’t have a straw hat and to do Anne’s dress properly I really need that hat. I will keep my eyes open for one and will make a dress in the Green Gables style one of these days.

Thank you everyone for voting and voicing your opinions on the fabric choices…because of all the traffic to my post, I broke my record of hits in a single day by just 1 hit! I know that means nothing to you, but it’s kind of exciting to me… and Janie thinks it’s ALL because of her! I had 341 hits yesterday… so thank you all so much!

I also received a nice email today from Dale Ohl at Lonestar Dolls in Texas. She has the shop where I bought my sweet Ten Ping from. There is a new edition of Ten Ping’s best friend, Gigi and a new Miki coming to her shop and she is taking pre orders right now and said the dolls would ship in approximately 30 days. The dolls runs $229. Dale is very nice to talk to and would welcome anyone calling her to get the perfect doll. If you’d like to check out Lone Star Dolls, here is the link to her shop… LONE STAR DOLLS

Here is a picture of the latest Gigi…

Well, I hate it when I can’t post more pictures, but my internet is crawling along like a turtle right now until my data is loaded again on Thursday. These 2 pictures will have to hold you over for now…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. I suspect that Janie will be pleased with a new blue party dress…. that means she’s being invited to a *party* – and what could be more fun – a party or a new dress? 🙂 Have fun with your creation!
We were too busy, yesterday, to ponder over fabrics for Gigi – but, hoping today we can get to it. She discovered what the internet was yesterday, to – when she saw me ‘shopping’ for new shoes and a hair salon (aka, additional wig). 🙂 I made her a little dolly to play with, tho – so, she’s content for the moment.

    1. HI Mary,
I think Janie will be really happy because the BLUE was the fabric SHE picked out! I picked out the green…
I think a pretty party dress might be just the thing…
Have fun with your Gigi! She is so sweet…
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Well, after finishing her first outfit today….I have a renewed admiration for the outfits you’ve made for this *small* dolly! 🙂

        1. HI Mary,
After your first couple of outfits you’ll get the hang of it and sewing for Gigi won’t be hard at all… you’ll have to send me a picture of your first outfit for her…
          Blessings, Jeanne

  2. No matter what fabric was chosen, the outfit will be lovely…can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Hope you’re having sunny weather…it’s getting nicer up here, a bit north of you.

    Take care.

    1. Thank you Becky,
I hope I can deliver on this blue fabric making it into something beautiful…
We are sunny today…a bit of clouds but nice!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Oh, my, you did get a lot of comments yesterday, Jeanne! Sorry I missed out on voting. I like them both! Ha! How’s that for a decision? As with everything you make, either will make a very sweet outfit. I do like how the blue fabric brings out her eye color though.
    Have a beautiful day!

    1. HI Cindy,
Yes, the comments just kept coming and coming and I can’t believe it ended in a tie vote.
I think the blue will be pretty on her…and we might have to take her braids down and give her a really pretty hairstyle with a pretty bow…
We did have a beautiful day here… hope you did too!
      Thanks Cindy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Hope you have time to get started soon on the new dress for Janie. Looking forward to seeing it progress.

    1. Hi Joy,
I worked at the Food Pantry today and when I got home my son was here, so I visited with him. Now it’s time to start dinner so I hope to get started on Janie’s new dress after that… Surely just a pretty little girl’s dress will go together quickly… I hope so…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Anne,
Yes, it’s nice to see a new number on my dashboard page… I had been looking at that 340 since I think July!
      Thank you,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Kathie,
I’m hoping to get started on it tonight… I worked at the Food Pantry today and then when I got home Kristoffer was here. So after visiting with him and talking a few “tech” things like phones and cameras, I realized it was time to start dinner…
The plan is to get started as soon as dinner is finished… surely it will go together smoothly… lets hope so!
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. So Jeanne, what exactly did YOU pick out and what did Janie pick out? I don’t really know what time frame Janie is from, so that’s another thing to consider with fabrics and colors. I am happy that the blue got chosen though. Can’t wait to see what you come up with, and I am sure it will be adorable! That’s the only kind you seem to be able to do!

Have to get outside in the sunshine, what a pretty day!

    1. HI Linda,
Janie picked the BLUE and I picked the GREEN… so she won and she’s been rubbing it in all day long! Silly little girl! She will look very pretty in the blue with the red wig. I can’t wait to see what I come up with TOO!
It’s sunny outside today here too… a tiny bit cool but not really anything to worry about. My hubby mowed our grass for the first time yesterday and the yard is so pretty today!
Hope you had a good day in your yard too.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Marilyn Grotzky

Congratulations on your record number of hits. It’s so nice to see that much interest.
I mowed the backyard yesterday too — I let someone else to the front because it’s more difficult and I can’t afford to wreck either of my knees — the one that’s metal or the one that’s bone. The front yard also has the crab apple, with dark pink blossoms that will grow lighter as the season goes on. It’s one of the nicest things about spring.
Nell is wearing Samantha’s birthday dress — I guess that’s the reason I keep picturing Janie in something with a pinafore. I guess we’ll find out what direction you’ll choose tomorrow. I am so glad you didn’t wake Rebecca up.

    1. HI Marilyn and thanks for the congrats on my new hits number. I know it’s silly, but it’s something I gage my success by…
I guess yesterday was “grass mowing day!” I see the crab apple trees all in bloom around her and just love their color…

I did look at some Anne of Green Gables dresses last night and might do one of those someday. A pinafore is definitely something that will be included with her dress when I do.

I got a lot done on Janie’s dress this evening and even though it’s not done, it’s looking pretty cute on her…I think.
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne
