I’m back home now…just a few details…

Hi everyone,
I am back home now after being in Springfield, MO for our first ever “Girls Week” at my sister’s house. We had SOOOOO much fun and it was a real treat for all of us…my mom included. I wanted to share what all happened and what we did, but I think I’m going to have to pass or I’ll do a really crummy job of telling my stories.

My mom and I got up at 6:00 a.m. (reluctantly on my part) to get ready for the 6 1/2 hour drive home. About 10:30 this morning I was feeling so sleepy I thought there was no way I could keep driving. We stopped for a potty break and I checked my fitbit activity tracker sleep log for last night and saw why I felt as sluggish as I did. It showed I only got 3 hours and 37 minutes of sleep last night. Girls Week is HARD on the body when you try to cram as much fun in as we did.

Today was also my son’s birthday, so when I got home, I had to prop my eyelids open and go out to dinner with him. I planned on doing at least a small blog post about some of the stuff we did during the week, but sitting here on this computer chair, and reeling like I’m doing, the best thing I can do is go to bed and try again tomorrow…

I’m sorry, but this will most likely go down in history as my most pathetic post e-v-e-r! Sorry, my bed is calling my name…

But I did want to thank of all of you who read each day and commented and pretended like I was “behind the scenes” just like usual. I loved how you all talked to each other in the comments section and especially for the all the encouragement and kind thoughts you sent my way. I’m sorry I didn’t answer some of your comments like I wished I could have. There was just such little time to be “techie” when I was with my sisters… well, I guess there WAS time, but I chose not to be on my phone answering comments in order to make the most of my time with them.

I’m home and I’ll see you tomorrow but I’m off to bed! Cindy Rice….it’s 8:52 and I’m going to bed; aren’t you proud of me???
Nightie Night, ~ Jeanne

This is one of those things that a lot of us value about this blog. Life is life, not a pretended impossible standard of perfection. Sleep well. Spread out your Girls’ Week stories over several days. Enjoy being home again. All of us are glad you had a wonderful week, and we’re glad to have you back.

    1. HI Marilyn,
You got the “pretended impossible standard of perfection” part right! I did find out from my sister’s though, that those blogs which show perfectly arranged rooms with everything in place, are just “staged!” I looked at some and thought I could never live that way, and it was nice to find out they don’t live that way either. I’ve seen a few where they showed “reality” pictures as well as the “staged” ones. It was nice to know!

I did sleep well and got up at 9:00 this morning…and that felt wonderful!!!
Thanks so much for your kind words Marilyn…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh Jeanne, don’t feel bad about having some time off on your own with your mom and sisters! We perfectly understand and will wait patiently for you whenever you feel rested to divulge in your adventures in Springfield.

I hope you are well rested today, but don’t push yourself! As much fun as you had, isn’t is great to get back home and in your own bed? Just think of all the fun you will have sewing again and getting ready for the holidays!

Wow, an 8:30 bedtime—-that I could do! And a “Happy Birthday” to Kristoffer (or however you spell his name)!!

    1. Hi Linda,
It does feel good to be home, but I sure enjoyed my stay at Deb’s house too! I got some much needed ZZZZZ’s and feel like a human being again! It’s a good thing!

I am ready to hit the sewing machine and see what I can churn out for all of my readers to enjoy looking at…or better yet, bidding at! :o)

It was a nice birthday dinner last night with Kristoffer, but it sure made me sleepy… I got home, wrote my “pathetic” post and headed to bed! That was a great feeling too!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings to you,
      ~ Jeanne

    1. Thank you Christine,
Sister time with me is always a treat! Thanks so much for your kind thoughts…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Paula,
I’m glad you are a part of my group of ladies who read each day.
      Have a wonderful weekend…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Welcome home, Jeanne! I read your blog first thing every morning when I’m checking my emails. It is so inspiring. It will probably take a few days to get your water wings back — at least for me it would — so take it easy.

    1. HI Anna,
I feel pretty good today and would love to just jump back into my sewing and go whole hog with it, but I do need to take care of a few things here at home first…
Thanks for your sweet comments to me,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Yes, I am proud of you, Jeanne, Hopefully you are getting 8 hours of sleep (or more) and will wake up rested. I can’t believe you posted; I could feel your exhaustion through your words.

    1. HI Cindy,
Yes, my early bedtime was very welcomed and I woke up feeling much better than when I woke up yesterday morning… I’m going to try to make my bedtime earlier… Thanks “MOM” for the nudge in the right direction…
      Have a great weekend Cindy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Would love to see some thoughts from your mom’s perspective of the trip. Bet it was a great experience for her. Glad you’re back in one piece.

    1. HI Joy,
I know she had a really good time and at times I’m sure she had to just tell herself she could keep up with us girls… we can really pack a lot into each day when we’re together…
Thanks for the sweet welcome back, Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I know you just had the best time! When my sister and I and our Girls get together we have so much fun. You may need more than one night to catch up on your sleep!
Looking forward to the “Sister-Mom Week stories”
Spent the day trying got get my computer back in working order. Internet Explorer went down and would not stay connected…I bought a 2 year contract with MYTurbo PC and have had nothing but trouble since. I did get it up and running again…finally 🙂
Go to bed early tonight too!

    1. HI Kathie,
I’m glad I’m not the only one who has fun with her sisters! There’s nothing like it, is there?

I wrote tomorrow’s post, but I’ll have to do it in 2 posts…too much to say and too many pictures.
Oh dear, there’s nothing more frustrating than a computer that won’t cooperate! I’m glad you got it fixed.
I am going to go to bed early tonight…it was wonderful last night and I’m hoping it will be the same tonight!
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Welcome Home, Jeanne!

No one deserved that “Girl’s Week” more than you did! I’m sure it will give you inspiration not only for your blog posts, but for your sewing projects as well. Besides, there is nothing more important than nourishing our relationships with family and making memories together that will last forever. You are blessed to have had the opportunity!

Your blog posts were well planned and continued on seamlessly in your absence. I know I can speak for other readers too when I say we enjoyed them as much as ever! I especially loved the preview of the Blue Bell design as well as your announcement of Christmas dresses to come, and I’m so excited that you will begin with Patsy. I know your designs will have us in the Christmas Spirit in no time!

Again, welcome home again to your little family, your familiar bed, and your sewing projects. A belated Happy Birthday and Best Wishes to Kristoffer! I look forward to hearing about your fun adventures in MO, the show me state! Happy sewing!

    Blessings,
    Anne

    1. Thanks so much for your kind comments to me, Anne,
We had so much fun…it would be fun to have a “blog girl’s week”….hmmmm, I might have to figure out how to do that…I don’t know what we’d do, but maybe something fun…

I’m already getting a little anxious to get the Christmas dresses going myself… I hope I don’t disappoint anyone with the choices I make for each doll.

Tomorrow I share some of my weekly adventures… hope you’ll enjoy them…
      Blessings, Jeanne
