I told you I had more in the archives for American Girl Kit and Molly…

Just when I think I’ve used my last picture from the archives, I find a few more…I showed you some of my past creations for Kit the other day (HERE) and mentioned I might have some more to share. Here are several more I found straight from the 1930’s…

This was a gorgeous fabric… probably too pretty for the Depression years, and it probably used a bit too much fabric during those hard times, but Kit wanted a ruffle, so I obliged and made it for her the way she wanted…

Now this one is pretty drab… but still pretty… I’m guessing it may have been the perfect 1930’s Easter dress!

Here’s a fun black and white sundress…

Last is a typical 1930’s pleated frock for Kit. It’s made from a pretty strawberry print.

I showed most of Molly’s dresses from the archives (HERE) the other day, but I found one more picture of Molly that I don’t think I’ve shown you. It’s a pretty mint green and white dress and it looked wonderful on Molly… Hope you agree.

  1. Jeanne, I love these little print dresses from way back! Reminds me of the ones I used to wear! Kit looks especially pretty in that first, blue and white one, depression or notf!

    1. HI Linda,
Thank you so much for your nice comments. You should have seen that fabric in person…it was gorgeous. I don’t have a scrap of it left and can’t even remember where I got it.
      Have a wonderful weekend… I plan to.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Boy, Jeanne, you have quite a collection of little beauties. I enjoy waking up to your eye candy. Your dresses are all so cute (as usual). I remember the strawberry print on things made for Riley. Did you ever use it for Riley? Yes, Molly looks beautiful in green. This dress reminds me of spring wherever it is.

    1. Hi Cindy and thank you. Yes, I did make a little dress for Riley out of the strawberries print. I’ve still got some of that fabric left. I used to buy my fabric pieces in 4 yard lengths when I was making little girls dresses and this was one of those prints. Now sewing for dolls, I don’t buy nearly as much of one piece anymore.
The sun is out today and I’m hoping for lots of melting…how about up north?
      Blessings, Jeanne

Jeanne, I seriously hope you never run out of AG dresses to show us. I just love the group you found for today!! Coffee and Jeannie Marie in the morning !!
I have a large stash of fabric in my workroom but now I want to get out to the store this afternoon and find some strawberry fabric. I am crazy nuts over the darling dress on Kit. Adding the little bit of gingham is the perfect touch. Just love it !!!

    1. Hi Jeannie,
What will I do when I DO run out of all my dress pictures, Jeannie? Start over again? I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Have fun at the fabric store looking for little strawberry prints. It’s fun when you find one you like. Have a great time shopping!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I just find myself repeating, “How cute, how cute,” over and over again. Wonderfully creative and detailed little dresses. Thanks again for sharing with us.

    1. Hi Susette,
Thank you very much for your kind words about my doll dresses. I really appreciate them. It’s very fun for me to be able to share them with all of you.
Have a wonderful weekend doing something you like.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Good morning Jeanne!

These dresses are adorable. Again the artistic detail – wonderful.
I love seeing these dresses because I have Kit and Kit has several girlfriends and now Ruthie is joining that group – she is on her way to my house right now. Mmmm….I guess they will need DRESSES!!
Perhaps we will see some in the future?
The green dress on Molly is so sweet and refreshing with Spring coming next. About the time I should be getting home.
    Enjoying Ventura and the whales!!

    1. Thank you Paula for your kind words about my doll dresses. I am thrilled that you have a new girl, Ruthie coming to join your girls. She is very pretty and will fit in perfectly with her new sisters!
I always liked that green dress on Molly too. It is a breath of freshness and Spring like so maybe it’s not too far off that we’ll all be wearing clothes like this instead of coats! I know I’m ready for lightweight clothing!
      Enjoy your last few days!
      Blessings, Jeanne
