I think Parades are always on Saturdays, aren’t they?

I’m sure parades are always on Saturday and my girls decided they wanted to have one in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. I told them I was busy because my sister was visiting and they told me they would take care of everything…I just needed to get the pictures together and they would get “in line” all by themselves. So here we go with the 2017 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, brought to you by the girls who live with me… I hope you enjoy them… and be sure and hoot and holler when your favorite goes by!!!

If you click on any picture it will enlarge.

  1. And we’re supposed to pick a favorite?? Well, if I absolutely HAD to, I would pick the 12th one down, the one of Felicity in the beautiful green and white print, with the ruffled lace and hat with the big bow on the side! Just beautiful! Then too, I love that last dress with the blue and green plaid. I see that Molly has one in that same fabric too, and I love that color combination. But they ALL are winners, because they are in YOUR parade, Jeanne!
The sun will be shining here today—yay!! Have fun with your sister! I’m going to my sister’s 50th wedding anniversary party this evening. I was her matron of honor. How did we get this old??

    1. Hi Linda,
Felicity’s dress was called Colonial Charm and she was very pretty in it.
I hope you had fun at your sisters party.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. That was a wonderful Saint Patrick’s Day Parade! I cannot possibly pick one favorite! One of my favorites though is Addy’s beautiful dress with the tiny rick-rack (15th down if I counted correctly). It isn’t the fanciest, but something about it spoke to me (probably the rick-rack). I’m off to visit my daughter and son in law’s house today and celebrate a grandson’s birthday. He is three. I hope everyone has a great day!
    Take care.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I liked that dress on Addy very much too. I had just gotten that pattern and loved it.
I hope you had fun at your grandsons birthday today!

  3. Wow! Thirty-Six Irish lassies! I can’t believe how many green dresses you’ve made and all so detailed and beautiful. Thanks for arranging the winning St. Patrick’s Day parade. I’m off to the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show today and a visit with my son’s family today.

    1. Hi Susette,
I wondered if anyone would count the girls…yes there were 36! That’s a lot of green, isn’t it…
I hope you had fun at the Orchid show today.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. That was quite a parade. Very impressive! Of course Molly’s green daisy jumper is one of my favorites. I have lots of favorites, but I’ve never before seen Felicity’s green and yellow dress and I like it a lot. I also especially liked the tiny doll standing in the chair wearing blue and green plaid. I would happily take — and even pay for — any of the colonial dresses — somehow they all make Felicity and Elizabeth look full of energy and ready to take on the creation of a new country. I also like Samantha’s dress because it’s so unlike most that I’ve seen.
Enjoy your day, and I hope tomorrow is just as good.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I can’t believe you haven’t seen Elizabeth dress before, but yes, it’s been in the archives all this time.
That’s Millie in the chair. She’s a little 11″ Kate wigs doll.
I have enjoyed my day and hope you have too.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Been up since 5:00AM staking out a good spot on the parade route. And boy was it worth it. So many wonderful dresses to see. I especially like the AG, name always escapes me and I have her too, in the green velvet like and black with the black gloves. I’m sure she will be doing a jig down the street. She must be in a dance troop.
The two dresses with the roses have that background color I’ve been trying to locate. Only fabric I’ve seen is lighter with more of a mint tone. So hard to match colors on line too.
Leftover corned beef sandwiches here today. Can’t wait.
Hope you are enjoying time with family.

    1. Hi Joy,
I LOVED your first line about being up so early so you could get a good seat for the parade. I laughed out loud.
That’s Nellie in the crushed velvet green dress.
I am enjoying being with my sister today. We always have so much fun together!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. What fun getting to see such a pretty group of girls in their lovely outfits. They are all so beautiful. Some of those colonial outfits are just gorgeous. I love Molly’s jumper and the other dress she’s in. Isabelle and Lian’s dresses too. Oh then there is the dress on Addy…IOh my, I think it’s really hard to pick and choose. My goodness!

Have a good time with your sister!

  7. Hi Paula,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the parade too, Paula…u sure enjoyed dressing the girls for it! :o)
    Blessings, Jeanne
