Hip Hoppity Happy Easter Dress for Effner 13″ Little Darling finished…

As much as it pains me to say it, this will have to be my last dress for Easter. I had just enough time to do one more dress and since I had already mentioned the pink bunny fabric, I thought I should follow through with it. I don’t know how I got so far behind and didn’t make it to the rest of my girls. I guess now I’ll just turn my thoughts to sewing for summer! That’s a pretty long season, so I should be able to get lots of dresses in. I’ll probably stop sometime in June and do a few for the Fourth of July, but then it’s back to Summer!

I finished my pink bunny dress and wanted to show you a few pictures of it that I didn’t use for my listing… Isabelle asked if I could take some more pictures of her… so we had another photo shoot. I hope you’ll click on the right side bar and look it up on Ebay. I scheduled it for a 3 day auction and it will end on Sunday night, just 4 minutes after the yellow and black one.

Just pretty darn cute ! All those crazy bunnies !!!

I’m off to ABQ to see the Butterflies for Easter. We have lots of AG plans, more sewing lessons, a trip to Toonaroona, a visit to the Zoo and maybe a train ride to Santa Fe {Grandma’s favorite place}. An overnight in the mountains will do us all some good!

    1. Thank you Jeannie,
I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time with your “Butterflies”…. tell them hi for me!
It sounds like you have something planned for every hour you’ll be gone! Enjoy yourself…

  2. Very pretty, Jeanne. I love the photo of the bunny in the hat. I read your blog every day and just today became aware of the gray background in your photos. Do you always use gray? It makes every thing stand out, especially your cute little white fence. Is it felt?

    1. HI Jevne,
First of all, thank you for reading everyday! That makes me smile!
My background is a gray suede cloth…or a doe suede. It’s nice because no lights reflect off it like they would if it was a glossy background. I do have a white one that I use if I make something that clashes with it. I have it up on a dowel rod and can just let it down when I do my photo shoots.
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you so much Regina… Isabelle is happy that everyone likes her dress! She doesn’t know it’s not for her…eep!!!

  3. LOVE the finished dress, slip, hat and especially love the bunny sitting in her hat in your ebay ad! Hysterical! Your creative abilities sure flow over to the photography too!
    Have a good weekend!

    1. Thanks Kathie,
I’m glad you like my silly pictures that I take some times… I actually had an idea written down for a post called “Bloopers” but couldn’t for the life of me think of anything that would be a blooper for my dolls except to maybe have one sock down and one up or a dress on backwards… that would just be goofy….oh well, I’ll keep thinking on it.

  4. Hello Jeanne,

The two Easter dresses are adorable beyond belief!! If I were a mean person, I’d bid on them without even having a Little Darlings doll – they are so cute! I am so tempted but that is just so selfish. : (
I’m fighting it but will look forward to summer AMG dresses.
    Jeanne, they are just darling!!

    1. HI Paula,
Thanks so much for your kind words about my 2 Easter dresses! I’ve actually had ladies buy my dresses first before they even had a doll, and then they’d email me and ask me where they could find one like them. That seems like an okay thing to do, but the waiting list is so long for a doll to be painted… I mean like 12 – 18 months to get one…

There will be lots of AG summer dresses so just hold one… I bought 3 new pieces of fabric today for the AG’s…
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I know I am late in responding, but I had to tell you that this dress is adorable. It is so fresh and “Eastery”. The pink looks like a lavender pink, so very pretty. The fabric you chose for the bodice adds texture and makes the dress extra special. The little “toys” you add with your outfits are so sweet. The Little Darlings who receive your dresses must be so thrilled to get a new friend with their new ensemble. I would have loved an Easter dress like this when I was a little girl.

    1. HI Cindy,
It is much prettier in person too, as you can see the very clear print of the bunnies on the fabric. It’s a really nice print as the bunnies are almost printed out laser perfect! I’m hoping the winners of these two dresses are as thrilled with them as I was making them.
I need to raid my mom’s pictures and see some of my old Easter dresses…and hats…we always wore hats it seemed.
      Thanks Cindy,
      Blessings, Jeanne
