Hello pretty dolls and goodbye blue dresses…

Now if you’ll go back and read that last sentence of mine from yesterday, I never actually said the doll was “mine,” just that I had a new doll to share. You all jumped to the conclusion that I had bought a new doll…but it wasn’t me… it was Ingrid! Let me introduce you to Danielle, painted by Magalie Dawson. She is a cutie and Ingrid must surely be awestruck by her. She has the prettiest blue eyes and if you click on the pictures, you can see them even better! These 2 pictures were the “proof” pictures sent to Ingrid to make sure she was okay to send.

Well done, Magalie and WELL DONE Ingrid! You picked a really sweet girl!

As I was writing this post, I also received a picture from the winner of the Springtime in the South dress… She put it on her Cecile doll and doesn’t she look fabulous in this lavender color next to her dark skin? I think you’ll agree! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Do you remember a while back I showed you the black velvet and white lace dress that was my “boo boo” dress?

The woman who bought this dress from me, put it on her doll and the doll became stained somehow from the velvet or the lining or the thread… we aren’t sure. You can see that post HERE. Well, VERY fortunately, that customer was so kind and patient with me; more than I ever could have hoped for. She loved the dress and wanted it fixed if possible… so I added a lining in white, all stitched in place by hand and mailed it back to her. You can see how I fixed it HERE if you missed it.

Well, I told the woman if she’d like, I would also make her an additional dress to make up for the headache and just down right scariness of her doll being damaged. She mentioned she’d love to have a little Spring dress in a pretty blue. SO… when Noel’s dress went up on Ebay,

…this woman emailed me and asked if I had any more of the blue fabric? I said I did and told her if she was the winner of the dress, I’d make her that blue dress to match Noel’s… Well, I’m sorry for those other bidders, but it was too good of a deal for this lady and apparently she was “determined” to win this one… and she did.

I worked for a few days and finally got them finished… Wanna see the girls together? I took these pictures late at night, so they aren’t super good, but I think you can get an idea of what they look like together.

My first “sister set” and nobody got to see it, so that’s why I decided to share it with you! As I packed it up, I was thinking about how those black stains on her favorite Little Darling doll could have turned out so differently. I’m so thankful for Removes Zit and my wonderful customers!

Good bye sweet blue dresses…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. What a fun blog today, Jeanne! I did think you were getting a new LD doll, because you said you were on the list, and should have it soon. But oh, Ingrid, what a little DOLL you have! You are so lucky and will have so much fun dressing up Danielle! Lucky you!

Yes, that Springtime in the South looks enchanting on Cecile! My Cecile is jealous!

So Jeanne, you HAVE been busy sewing after all, and we didn’t know it! That lucky lady got a two for one deal from you!!! How lucky can a person get? That set turned out so cute and pretty and everything else! So nice of you to offer a deal like that, and I’ m glad she won.

Well, this weather is again changing my plans of planting pansies! Too cold and windy for that, but maybe tomorrow?? Up and down, up and down!!

    1. Hi Linda,
I’m glad you enjoyed this hodge podge of things today. Danielle is very sweet isn’t she?
Seeing Cecile in that picture makes me wonder why I ever sold my Doll. She wears that so well.
It’s pretty chilly here too, but at least the sun is shining!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. What a wonderful post today! Ingrid’s doll is beautiful. I think she may be the person, or was it you or Marilyn, who mentioned that Magalie was painting dolls and that she had ordered one. I hesitated a day before ordering one myself. I will be forever grateful to whoever it was. I received a picture from Magalie of my finished Riya doll on Monday, so I must have ordered right after Ingrid did. I was going to wait until I received the doll to take a picture, but I know I couldn’t have taken one as good as Magalie did, so I’m sharing it with you today. I sent pictures of Riya and asked Magalie to match the hair color, and she picked up the color in Riya’s brown eyes perfectly. Eagerly awaiting the mail delivery today.

What a wonderful set you’ve made for your Best Buyer. What a lot of work, too. She is very lucky, indeed. I’m lucky for finding your blog and the many friends who contribute their knowledge to it. Thanks again, Everyone.

    1. Hi Susette,
I hope your mail has come by now and you are enjoying your new girl. I know you are excited!!
I’ll be happy to show off your sweetie soon!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Today could be titled “A day of good fortune” since everyone connected had good fortune. Ingrid’s little one is just lovely. At first glance, I thought it was a picture of a human child. The “Springtime in the South” dress winner certainly had good fortune. Her Cecile looks just beautiful. You had good fortune with the “boo-boo” dress. That must have been a scary experience for everyone. Next, the “boo-boo” dress owner received a beautiful two for one with your Noel dress and companion sister dress. Last, we your readers got so many fun stories all in one post!
Hope you have a good day!
    Take care.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
Thank you summarizing the post as “a day of good fortune.” It really was…for everyone involved… I’m glad you enjoyed it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Springtime in the South is so pretty on Cecile, who is one of my favorite dolls ever, even though I don’t have one. Your beautiful dress looks even more beautiful on Cecile, and I always think that no one can out-model Rebecca.

Pixie Faire has a new “Who Models It Best” contest today, and Rebecca is one of the models. Since I think she’s wonderful in anything, I chose her, but many people chose the Truly Me competitor. It’s so nice that we all vary in what we like.

Except that surely everyone loves Janie and Noel in their pretty blue spring dresses. I am glad you had enough material for both. The dresses look so pretty ready to go off to their new dolls. I do love and appreciate your packaging. The dresses will look just like that when they arrive.

You said, “…those other bidders.” I’m so pleased that there were other bidders on a dress for a relatively rare doll. That means we’ll see more of Noel, which will be a pleasure. Speaking of models, who’s next for a pretty spring dress?

It looks like snow here, but the weather report says it will be nearly 60 today — it will be nice but look a bit gloomy. I can live with that. I remember when I wore coats all winter. Now I seldom need one, though since I retired, it’s true that I don’t have to go out in bad weather unless I have to. Retirement is a lovely thing.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I have yet to check out Pixie Fire today, but will have to soon.
I’m glad I had enough blue fabric to make that dress for my customer who wanted a Spring dress. It really did work out well.
I decided last night who will be next and you’ll get a peek at it hopefully tomorrow.
The sun is shining here but it’s only 29 degrees…but at least we don’t have snow!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I went back to yesterday’s comment section. I am so glad you liked link to the pictures of darling little Lola Jones — doesn’t she look like a Little Darling? — dressed as some of her heroines. Her mother did a great job on the outfits and Lola did a great job of “making the faces.”

And speaking of Little Darlings and great jobs, isn’t Magalie a wonderful Little Darling painter?

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I think I might have to share that link…it’s just so well done and I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying it…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Ingrid’s, Danielle, is such a vision of loveliness this morning. So much fun seeing her.
Cecile looks so perfect in the springtime dress. Love it.
And the sister dresses, so cute. They really do look like sisters.
So happy that Susette is getting her new girl hopefully today. Can’t wait to see the picture. The orders must have rolled in quickly for Magalie as I ordered right away and received my Bessie Bell in October. My girl loves to see her new friends emerge.
After a few days of drying out, we’re due for rain again over the weekend. I heard Hawaii had a big snow storm and that is what is headed our way.

    1. Hi Joy,
Yes, pretty dolls from everyone today…and more to come soon! I’m glad you liked them…I did too.
A snow storm in Hawaii? I hadn’t heard that…I’m ready for Spring and now that everything is budding out, it might be disastrous around here.
      Thanks Joy!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. I love, love, love Danielle. I’m so happy Ingrid sent you a picture of her. Magalie paints the most beautiful dolls, and I’m really impressed with her talent.
It’s nice that your customer sent you a picture of Cecile wearing her pretty new outfit. You really do have wonderful customers!

    1. HI Carolyn,
I truly do have great customers AND friends! It’s so nice that I get to share all my pictures with everyone! I love doing it! Glad you enjoyed seeing everything today!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. What a wonderful post of beautiful dolls, doll dresses, and dolly news! Did you ever imagine that your blog would be such a blessing to so many people, Jeanne? Your dolls and clothes are always a delight, but your posts are so much more than that! From recipes to home decorating, and gardening to travel, you share so many of life’s pleasures with your readers, and we all respond with enthusiasm. I just love everything about your blog, even the weather and forecast details from the ladies in various parts of the country! Reading your post is a highlight of my day, and I hurry to catch up whenever I fall behind. Thank you for uniting us in a love of dolls, Jeanne. You and your musings are a joy and an inspiration, and I hope your blog blesses you as much as it blesses others!

    1. HI Anne,
Oh, my goodness, what sweet things you have shared today! I feel the same way, only in reverse… I love seeing and being able to share what all of you are doing and how things are with your dolls and your lives and yes, even the weather! I had no idea there was snow in Hawaii until Joy mentioned it!
Reading my post might be the highlight of your day, but writing it is pretty high up on my list of favorite daily things with me too!
I’m so glad you enjoy it…all of it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Hi Jeanne,
What a nice surprise to see my little Danielle in your blog post today. Thank you I feel special LOL. Also thank you ladies for all the sweet words. Magalie is a very talented lady, I can’t say enough about her talent. Also if anyone is interested she is more than a month ahead in her painting. Even though I’d love a doll painted by Dianna herself 2 plus years is to long for this impatient lady to wait.
I’m thrilled that the booboo dress has had such a happy outcome. We have all learned that only lined dresses should touch dolly skin for any length of time. Cecile looks so very pretty in her Jeanne Marie Original!
    hugs
    Ingrid

    1. HI Ingrid,
I bet you are really enjoying your sweet Danielle, aren’t you? I remember when I first received Isabelle, I would go back in my sewing room and look at her again and again, just to make sure she was still as pretty as I remembered! She always was! I’m sure you are doing the same.
Maybe Danielle will need a sister at some time in the future? It sounds like it might be a possibility! :o) …just saying….
      Blessings, Jeanne
