Have you tried these products?

I just received the newest Home Sew Sewing and Craft Supplies catalog today and as I was looking through it, a few items caught my attention.
I haven’t tried them but was wondering if any of you have?

The first product is CHIZIMI SHRINKNG THREAD: It implies that when it is stitched into the fabric and then exposed to steam, it shrinks up 30% causing a slight puckered or shirred look. If you use it in the bobbin as well, it puckers up a little more. It says it works best with light weight fabrics. Anyone out there tried this?

The second item is called LUTRADUR – The Miracle Material and it seems like it really could be used for lots of things. It can be sewn, printed on using your ink-jet printer, painted on plus more. It would be great for totes or wall hangings. Has anyone tried this stuff?
I think I’d like to give this a try…

And the last item isn’t a fun one, but one that might help out my aching back after a day of bending over my sewing machine. It’s called the BODY RITE -Posture Pleaser and it’s a kind of “strappy back pack” looking device that keeps you from slumping your shoulders as you sew or craft. There is a little pouch that holds weights and I’m assuming it holds your shoulders back and won’t allow you to hunch over. It’s quite pricey at $43.95 so I’d really like some feedback on this one… anyone have it?

That’s all for today. My dear hubby is whisking me away for an anniversary shopping trip today. There is a fabric store that I have on my radar and he’s got a Harbor Freight Tool store in mind for himself. We both should be very happy at the end of the day!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Jeanne, it’s amazing to see what is out there these days to make sewing unique and fun! No, I don’t see things like this, I leave it to the “experts”, such as yourself!

Happy belated anniversary to the two of you, and have a wonderful day!

  2. Thank you Linda,
We did have a wonderful day! I have got to get busy sewing though… I know what I’m going to be doing the next few days… right after I get my house straightened back up… SEWING!
    Thanks for reading Linda,
    Blessings, Jeanne

I haven’t tried or even seen any of these products but all look very interesting. I tend to slouch quite a lot when I’m sewing, and no matter how many times I try to correct my posture when I notice I’m doing it, so I do it again and again. I nearly always end up with a burning sensation in my neck and aching shoulders.
I’d be really interested to know what you find out about the posture correcting device.
I hope you had a great anniversary weekend!
