Hairstyles for a few of my dolls…

I love dolls with long hair because it’s so much fun fixing different styles to go with the outfits they are wearing. I would have to say my American Girl, Elizabeth doll, has probably had more hairstyles than any of my other dolls. Her hair is luscious and so thick and VERY long! She is a dreamboat when it comes to Regency dresses and the hairdo’s that I come up with. I thought I might share some of my favorite hairstyles on a few of my dolls. I have LOTS more, but I just narrowed it down to these as they are a bit more elaborate than some of my others.

This is a wig I tried to make from Tibetan lambswool. I got my pieces laid out wrong… as you can clearly see! There is a nap to wool just like there is on some fabrics! I tried again and got it a little better….

I hope you enjoyed the “hairstyles” today! See why I like dolls with LONG hair! So many possibilities…so little time!

See you tomorrow,

  1. Jeanne, I told myself I would NOT comment on your blog while you were away, so as to not have you try to answer me, so you could enjoy the wedding festivities. But those pictures of Elizabeth are just stunning! I myself could never have the patience to fix doll hair like that! My dolls have rather simple hairdos because they are supposed to be little girls—-that’s my excuse! That last hairdo—-out of this world and into another!!LOL

Hope you are having a wonderful time and that the wedding goes smoothly!

    1. I just found out last night that I’m going to be fixing Hannah’s hair and maybe Nora’s… guess all that dolly “do’s” will come in handy! Gotta run, but thanks for commenting Linda!

  2. I didn’t realize that hair styling was among your many talents, Jeanne. I’ve worked with Tibetan lambswool so I know what you mean about the nap. It was fun dying it, I used Rit. What did you use?
PLEASE don’t answer until you get home! Have fun.

    1. Hi Jevne,
You are too funny…hair styling is just fun to me…
My Tibetan lambswool came the color is it…I don’t remember the name…maybe auburn?
I’m home and it’s back to normal now…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thanks so much Pom! I’m glad you liked my “girl’s” hairstyles!
      Blessings, Jeanne
