Giveaway Number 5…

Well, I’m just about out of Giveaways! Tomorrow will be the last one as it will be my “One Year Anniversary” of the day I started writing this blog. I hope you all have enjoyed the fun this week. Each day I showed something either my daughter Rebecca or I made. If it was something you might like to try and win, you just had to LEAVE A COMMENT at the bottom of my blog on the day that item was featured. You could also send me an email and leave a comment too. It didn’t have to be a long comment…just a comment. (Today’s post will run until 12:00 midnight Friday night. (Central Time Zone, IL)

[I just did a post on how to navigate my website a few days ago. If you get my blog post through your email with the blue title, you can click on the blue title and it will take you straight to my website. The comments can be left at the bottom. That is actually the easiest way to read it or leave a comment.]

***!!!*** I have a new feature on my blog…a SEARCH box! You can type in whatever you like and if that word is mentioned in a post I wrote, it will pull up all the posts where it was mentioned. I think you’ll like this new feature…I had to try it out myself and it’s pretty fun!

Yesterday’s Giveaway was for a box of goodies I picked out from my stash… believe me, you can’t even tell I gave those things up… I thought it might be a fun giveaway for all of my subscribers and readers who like to sew for their dolls. There was quite a variety of things and I got PLENTY of comments… 35 in fact and several emails.
Just as I’ve done all week…I wrote everyone’s name down on a little slip of paper, flipped them all face side down and then I shuffled them around…

Then I closed my eyes and drew out the winner….

Congratulations Betty! I hope you’ll enjoy all these trinkets and let me know if you make something pretty for your doll. Maybe I’ll show everyone what you did. Please email me so I can get your address and send these off to you.
Thanks to everyone else who participated…but missed out… :o(

Today’s Giveaway is for something my daughter, Rebecca made again. This time it’s for a pretty necklace for your American Girl doll. She does a really nice job and has sold over 900 doll necklaces on Etsy to lots of ladies. Sometimes she’ll sell a half dozen at a time. (Each sale counts as one transaction, not each necklace…) Of course if you go look in our Etsy shop now, you’ll find it’s pretty bare… she’s had a busy semester at college this year, but she’s made a few today and you can pick the one you like best.
Again, you must leave a comment at the bottom of this post, before midnight tonight, (Central Time, IL) or send me an email, letting me know which color necklace you would pick if you are the winner.

Here are your choices… Plum, Lavender or Red. They are all made of glass beads and glass pearls and have a magnetic clasp in the back for easy on and off.

[If you click on any picture it will enlarge.]

  1. What pretty necklaces, Jeanne! I know that everything Rebecca makes is very nice and I have several of her necklaces already that are just perfect for my dolls! I can always use a few more, so here’s hoping I can get some more!

    1. Whoops! Forgot to tell you which one I would pick! The first one will go perfectly for a few things for Felicity that I have, so here’s hoping I win it!

    2. HI Linda,
Thanks for your compliments on Rebecca’s necklaces. Could you let me know which one you’d like if you are the winner?
      Thanks, Jeanne

      1. Jeanne, didn’t you see my reply? I picked the first one, and I think we wrote at the same time! I think it’s the plum one.

    1. HI Susette,
Thanks so much… yes, they are all unique! Could you pick one out so I’ll know which one you’d like if you are chosen as the winner?
      Thanks and blessings, Jeanne

  2. They all are beautiful! Purple seems to be the favorite from my girls! This has been much fun and Thanks so much for doing it. Hard to believe that it has been a year. You make it so interesting that
I don’t miss a day. Looking forward to each and every day for your second year.
    Thanks again, Sylvia

    1. HI Sylvia,
Yes, little girls and purple just go together, don’t they? I’m glad you enjoyed the giveaways this week.
      I can’t believe it’s been a year already… it’s just flown by!
Thanks for being a loyal reader…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Oh wow!. These are lovely. I have a daughter who makes jewelry too!. Hmmmm if I don’t win I will have to show her these and see what she can make for her old momma. My dolly girls saw them and they are saying “write, fast, we want these, please!”… lol so I did. This has been a fun week.

    1. HI April,
I’m glad you like the necklaces, but you forgot to pick your favorite… could you?
Thanks so much and I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the week.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I’ve admired Rebecca’s necklaces, and I have a beautiful green one she made. That plum necklace is calling to me – really unique. You passed on your creative genes to your daughter. Thanks for all the giveaways!

    1. Hi Karen,
That plum necklace didn’t show up very well in my pictures, but in person it is just beautiful. There are very subtle sort of clearish/aqua sparkly beads with it and the gold isn’t nearly as bright as the pictures make it look…. Good choice!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. They are all very pretty, I would choose the red necklace for my granddaughter’s AG doll. Her birthday is in Oct. and I could make her doll a dress to go with..if I won. Thanks for the week of giveaways!!

    1. Thanks Regina,
What a great gift that would be for your granddaughter’s birthday. There’s probably nothing she’d like more!
Thanks for choosing the red one.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Those are all pretty–hard to coose just one. I think if I were to win I would choose the lavender to go with some fabric I want to use for Elizabbeth or Felicity. Tell Rebecca thank you for playing along with us!

    1. Hi Carolyn,
The lavender necklace is very pretty and would be great for Felicity or Elizabeth. You better get started on that lavender dress, because you might be the winner! Who knows…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Kudos to you Jeanne for persevering and making it to the one year anniversary of your blog (well almost ;o) )!
Rebecca’s necklaces are very nice, and the plum/lavender is my favorite of this group.
Thanks to you both for the giveaways!

    1. Thanks Connie, for participating in the necklace giveaway. I have you down for the plum or the lavender one… is that right?
Or did you just mean the plum one?
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Hi Mary,
Thanks for your kind words about Rebecca’s doll necklaces. Plum it is for you!
      Blessings, Jeann

  8. All those necklaces are lovely, Jeanne. Rebecca does a wonderful job creating them to go with the outfits you sew.
I would like the lavender one. I know it would go nicely with her summer gown and some other fabric I have to make her something else.
Thank you for the week of giveaways. It has been fun.

    1. HI Laura,
Yes, I’d be the first to admit I like her style… she’s got a few more made and I’ll get those in our Etsy shop as soon as I can.
I’ve got you down for the lavender one should you be the winner.
Thanks for participating all week, Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Jeannie B. in TX

Good Morning, Jeanne! I hope you are enjoying the beautiful summer weather in your area. Certainly has to be better than this hot, hot, hot temps we are dealing with. 104 is predicted for today. yikes !!! But it is summer in Texas.
Today’s post showing Rebecca’s jewelry is a great finale’ to your celebration week! Her designs are very creative and well made. A very talented young woman. She is following with the family traits.
    Have a wonderful weekend !!

    1. Hi Jeannie,
Thanks so much for all your sweet compliments on the blog and my daughter’s talents. She is very talented…so much so, I’ve told her I thought she could make as much selling her jewelry as doing the job she’s at right now… but *alas” no benefits… *sigh*

Don’t forget to let me know which one you’d pick if you are the winner…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Marilyn Grotzky

Everyone loves these so much that we forget to tell you which one we want. I’ve really enjoyed reading the posts, followed by your requests for a necklace color.

I’ll choose lavender. Will the others be for sale on Etsy later or will you make outfits to go with them? I’m for the outfits.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Thanks so much for enjoying the posts all week long. It’s been fun for me too.
I’ve got you down for Lavender if you win and as far as the necklaces go, I will probably list them on Etsy by themselves first. Then if they don’t sell, I’ll do a little “shopping” and make something to go with them… at least that’s the plan.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Good afternoon Jeanne,

I am late getting on here…
Hard to believe you’ve been writing your blog for a year. I am so glad to have found it and I believe it was after I bought a dress from you, I think. Like everyone else, I have enjoyed you, your blog and all those nice gals on your blog. Looking forward to more reading every morning.
I love all three necklaces but I like the plum one the most.
    Have a great day.
    Blessings!

    1. Thanks Paula,
I’m so glad you found me too!!! It’s been a blessing meeting you and chatting. I’ve enjoyed your words of encouragement as well.
I’ve got you down for the Plum necklace should you win!
      blessings, Jeanne

  12. HI
Just home from the County Fair…Wow I’ve never seen such yummy looking veggies!
Quilts to knock you socks off and Hardanger ( I think that’s how it’s spelled) hand work pieces that were out of this world. It’s so pretty…maybe it’s making a comeback? The note on one piece that had a huge purple ruffly ribbon on it said it took 1.5 YEARS to complete!
I think Rebecca”s red necklace would be my favorite and would make my Granddaughter Elizabeth’s heart go pitter patter. she doesn’t go anywhere without her AG doll Kelsey.

    1. Thanks Kathie,
Oh I wish I could have gone with you!!! Going to the Exhibition Building at our DuQuoin State Fair was always my favorite thing. I loved looking at the cases full of sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, applique, sewing, tailoring, etc. A few times I entered and a few times I won blue ribbons…I loved it all! One year I got 9 blue ribbons!
Well, I’ve got your name on the red necklace should you happen to win!
      blessings, Jeanne

  13. Hi Jeanne,
They are all beautiful, but I would choose the lavender one.
It’s hard to believe you’ve been posting for a whole year without missing a day! That’s quite an accomplishment, not to mention all the beautiful clothes you’ve made. I was reading randomly at the beginning, but now I read your posts everyday, I really look forward to them. I really enjoy seeing how you put your outfits together, but I also like the posts where you post about where you live and what you are doing.
    Congratulations!
    Carol

    1. Thanks so much Carol,
I’m glad you are enjoying the posts each day… you never know what might pop up on any given day! It has been a fun year and I can hardly believe it’s been that long.

I’ve got you down for lavender should you happen to win…
      blessings, Jeanne
