Giveaway Number 4…

This first section is the same as yesterday…

It’s almost here…the anniversary of the day I started writing this blog. In honor of my 1st anniversary on August 1st, I am planning to have a week of giveaways. The way it will work is, each day this week, I will show you something either my daughter Rebecca or I have made. If it is something you might like to try and win, just LEAVE A COMMENT at the bottom of my blog on the day that item is featured. You can also send me an email and leave a comment too. It doesn’t have to be a long comment…just a comment. (Today’s post will run until 12:00 midnight Thursday night. (Central Time Zone, IL)

[I just did a post on how to navigate my website a few days ago. If you get my blog post through your email with the blue title, you can click on the blue title and it will take you straight to my website. The comments can be left at the bottom. That is actually the easiest way to read it or leave a comment.]

***!!!*** I have a new feature on my blog…a SEARCH box! You can type in whatever you like and if that word is mentioned in a post I wrote, it will pull up all the posts where it was mentioned. I think you’ll like this new feature…I had to try it out myself and it’s pretty fun!

~~~~~~~~
Yesterday’s Giveaway was for a pretty sparkly tulle slip for either your American Girl doll or your Dianna Effner 13″ Little Darling doll. I had lots of comments left for this giveaway, but sorry, there can only be one winner. I asked you to choose the slip for the American Girl doll or the Dianna Effner Little Darling doll.
As I did last night, I wrote everyone’s name who left a comment, on a piece of paper. There were 31 ladies who left comments or emailed me. Then I shuffled them…
I closed my eyes and drew out the winner…
Congratulations Theresa! I hope your dolls will be happy with the slip you won for them! If you’ll just email me with your address, I’ll get the slip out to you. Thank you for playing and thanks for reading my blog.
Today’s Giveaway will cater to those of you who sew! Many of you are probably like me… you sew for the dolls and aren’t really a “collector” so to speak. You make things to sell and your dolls stand naked on the shelf until it’s their turn to model something. Or maybe you are someone who sews for them and keeps your outfits. I sell everything I make and then move on to the next outfit. I know many of you sew and I picked out some of my favorite things and put together a little goodie packet that I hope you’ll enjoy. There are some yard lengths of lace and some half yard ones too. Everything is new (unless it’s vintage) and is from my smoke free, pet free sewing studio. There are buttons, “button brooches”, vintage baby rick rack, lace, trims, appliques, ribbons, felt flowers, etc. I did a post on “Embellishments” (HERE) and I thought I’d just help you out with a few embellishments of your own. I hope you like what I picked out…
Thanks for everyone who has been participating in the drawings all week. I like to keep you guessing and coming back each day, and hope you are enjoying it. Saturday is my One Year Anniversary of writing this blog and I’ll have something special that day! Hope you’ll keep checking in each day.
  12. What a scrumptious assortment!!!! I love to sew for my girls, though I rarely let them stand naked. LOL If my name was picked I would be “over the moon”!
    It has been so much fun to see the prizes each day, even though I have not commented each day. So glad I am not the only one who likes to play dress up with my dolls. 🙂
    1. Oh Kathleen, you can rest assured that you are NOT alone at all when you play dress up with your dolls. There is a whole world out there of ladies doing the same thing as you are!
      Glad you’re a part of my blog!
      Blessings, Jeanne
  13. What wonderful little goodies. Yes, I am a collector as well, but I am trying to hone my sewing skills. All those trims are simply gorgeous. I especially like the one you used most recently on the lavender Civil War dress that Rebecca modeled.
  14. Wow!!! You must have a lot of fellow sewing ladies to get such a response to this giveaway. Thanks again for sharing!
    1. HI Susette,
      Well, this is by far the most comments I’ve ever received, so I think I must have lots of ladies who are sewing for their dolls…
      Thanks for commenting…
      Blessings, Jeanne
  15. Cindy Parkhill, I am glad to see that I am not the only one who doesn’t post comments at 7 am! lol
    Jeanne, that’s a beautiful array of goodies and I recognize some from outfits you’ve made. The first one i noticed was the black ( I don’t know what to call it) on the far left in the second photo. I remember it on the bodice of an American Girl dress that I particularly liked. If you give away this one you won’t be able to make another dress like that! And I remember your showing us the black polka dot bows when you bought them. You are really becoming a part of our lives! Thank you.
    Hugs, Jevne
    1. HI Jevne,
      That black lace up thing is an applique and they are fun to use! They actually fit perfectly on the bodice of a Little Darling dress!
      Thanks for being a part of MY blog life, Jevne. I appreciate all the emails that we’ve shared back and forth over the last year!
      Blessings, Jeanne
  16. I have to comment on all the naked dolls ‘standing’ around. My dolls also are naked but not one of them is standing….of course, Jeanne, I don’t have a dozen or so AG dolls….mine are lying around, two of them ‘live’ on the pulled out drawer of my table, these are the two I use most often for fitting, and their sisters and playmates are in a dresser drawer where they don’t get dusty. I don’t think they like it in there, but I’m the boss. lol
    1. HI Jevne,
      I used to keep my Nyssa and Hope in a drawer too! But I was always afraid I’d conk their head getting them out so I transferred them to their box on a lower doll shelf and they sleep most of the time. :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne
  17. Whoo Hoo! What amazing treasurers! That would be SO much fun!
    Enjoy your week of sharing!
    1. HI Kathie,
      I’ve had a wonderful week of sharing and giving away things…only 2 more days to go!
      Blessings, Jeanne
  19. Diana Jenness
    Jeannie,
    You got lots of responses today! It should set some kind of a record. I would love to have the goodies you have picked out. I am going to write my name twice–maybe it will have extra weight!!
    Diana
    Diana
    1. HI Diana,
