Fourth of July Dresses for your viewing eyes…

I am just about out of Patriotic dresses for my dolls but wanted to show you a few more today…I think I can finish them up tomorrow. My sister (from PA) is visiting for a few days, so my sewing is on hold again… I DO remember how to do it though… in a few days I’ll be back to posting something I’ve made. In the meantime…

This is my 16″ Four Seasons “Winter” doll, by Helen Kish. I don’t have her anymore but she had the loveliest feet and hands! They were beautifully sculpted.

One of my favorite red, white and blue dresses was modeled by Janie, my 13″ Dianna Effner, Little Darling doll.

Isabelle wanted to show you one of her 4th of July outfits too…

Again, that’s all for today…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Thank you for all of your patriotic pics, Jeanne, and I have never seen any of these. They are getting me in the Fourth of July spirit. (I hate to admit this, but I am starting to think about fall dresses. Why or why?) Janie’s set is perfect, a bit vintage looking to me, so sweet. I can see why it is a favorite set of yours.
The Four Seasons dolls were yesterday’s hot doll by the time I started to sew for collector dolls. I always admired them though, and you have your Winter dressed beautifully.
    Have fun painting!!!

      HI Cindy,
You haven’t seen them because I was “saving” them for the 4th of July!
Fall dresses? Is that what comes next? Oh dear… I am way behind… or maybe you are just way ahead! You are probably right…
Thanks so much for your nice compliments on my dresses, Cindy.

  2. All so cute, Jeanne. Hoping for a progress photo of the painting job tomorrow! Have fun with your sister!
I had a Four Seasons Winter but I never sewed for her, just looked at her, she was so pretty! Then when I wanted an Ellowyne I sold her. When we sell dolls are there always some we wish we had kept? For me, they would be EW Plaid to Meet You, my Tuesday’s Child, and one of the Riley’s I had, wouldn’t care which one, and Winter.
Have you kept all the dolls you have sewed for?

    • Jeanne W says:

      HI Jevne,
The painting got done today so you’ll see it soon. It turned out wonderful! I hope you like it.
No, I’m sorry to say, I’ve sold many of my dolls too. When they no longer are popular or bring in a profit for me, it’s time for them to find a new home…sad but true.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. America the beautiful runs in my head looking at those dresses! Your Winter looks so sweet in the deep colors and the Little Darlings really are pretty in the red white and blue. My fav is the last one. I must get to sewing…our G-Sale is over.. it was fun but so much work!

    • Jeanne W says:

      Hi Kathie,
Thank you so much for your sweet comments. It’s hard when you get out of the rut of sewing, to get back in it. That’s why I try to do it everyday…it’s just easier to keep up with it if I do a little each day.
I hope you yard sale was a good one…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Jeannie B. in TX says:

Simply said – I love them all !!

  5. I love them all too! I think I love Isabelle’s the most!

    • Jeanne W says:

      Hi Regina,
Well, apparently Isabelle is the winner on this post!
Thanks so much for your compliments.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Linda Doyle says:

Those darling outfits have gotten me in the 4th of July spirit, and now I am going to fix my dolls up for the 4th. I see it is creeping up and it takes forever to get them all fixed and the clothes they have on now put away.

I just love that little Isabelle! She is so dainty and sweet looking! Does she have the same face as Janie? I see the eyes and hair are different, but both look just precious!

    • Jeanne W says:

      Hi Linda,
So glad I could put you in a patriotic mood!
Yes, Janie and Isabelle are the same sculpt… they are just painted differently and have different eyes and wigs. It’s like the classic mold for the AG dolls… they have the same sculpt but have different eyes and wigs and sometimes lip colors.
      thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne
