Dress up your dolls in their Christmas dresses…

I was having trouble with my satellite quickly eating up all my data. I get 10 gigs each month and it reloads on the 16th. Well Sunday night at midnight it reloaded and I was a happy camper! Then when I woke up Monday morning, it was at 86%. I thought that was quite a lot to use up overnight, so I called and they had me do a 3 hour test to see why my data was being depleted so quickly. They couldn’t figure anything out, but they reloaded me back to the 10 gigs again! :o)

Then this morning it was at 80%… a few hours later it was at 72%… and then early afternoon it was at 58%!
Something was wrong so I called again and they wanted me to do another test, only this time overnight. I had to pull the plug on my internet service at home so I am currently sitting at a local pizza place writing this. I wasn’t going to let this stop me from having a post for you to read….
So I have to come up with something creative since I can’t load any pictures (they are on my desktop computer).

I had this idea…why doesn’t everyone take some pictures of their dolls dressed up for Christmas and I’ll showcase them in an upcoming post or two if I get enough pictures. I know lots of you are making special doll dresses and I would love to share everyone’s pictures! Won’t this be fun? It can be just one doll in her special dress or a group of your dolls. You can send more than one picture if you need to.

I will be waiting to see what all your dolls look like. You can send your pictures now but I will probably wait to post them sometime in early December…

Well , I guess I’ll go home now… I DROVE myself here tonight! That is something to celebrate!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings,Jeanne

  1. Hi Jeanne,

I had the same problem with my computer…had to take it and the laptop in to the Computer Doctor who said their were all kinds of bad stuff like malware and viruses etc. on the desktop, but particularly the laptop. I thought I had good protection on both, but not good enough, I guess. He fixed everything and put strong protection on them and I haven’t had that problem since. Hope you will be back in happy computer land soon!

    1. Hi Jane,
Well, I’m back and we’ll see what happens now. My satellite service gave me a few tips to try and see if the data usage slows down.. I hope so… I can’t load as many pictures if it doesn’t!
Thanks so much for reading Jane,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. You drove yourself! Congratulations! This is wonderful. Your computer news is not, but your health news is.
And you drove to a computer/pizza place just to send a message to us. That’s so nice of you. I hope you got some pizza as well. It would be nice if you had a nearby fabric store so you could do two-in-one shopping and go home with yards of new fabric.
Christmas outfits for dolls — I’ve been sorting and rearranging and condensing my AG collection. I have two new dolls this Christmas, making a total of 5, so I’ll have to so figure out how wardrobes for three will fit my five dolls, but I’m sure that somewhere in the dozen outfits you are making, I’ll find something to help solve the problem.
Good luck with your computer. At least we have those wonderful Nyssa photos from yesterday — they are worth admiring twice.

    1. HI Marilyn,
YES, I drove to the pizza place…all by myself! And no, I didn’t get pizza, although it’s my favorite pizza place in town… I just got a salad.
Oh dear , if there were a fabric store near me, I’d be in really big trouble. Fortunately the Joann’s and Hobby Lobby are on the other side of town… I do have a Wal Mart nearby but it was one of the stores that got stripped of their sewing department! :o(

Thanks so much for your compliments again on Nyssa’s dress. I have her laying on my cutting table and every once in a while I hold her up to look at her dress again. I guess I thought I might never see it completed as well as many of you! But it is and now I have to find the perfect props and accessories for her…
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. That happened to me with my phone and I-Pad. The technician said to go to settings and switch Mobile Data to Off. It solved the problem. I only turn on Mobile Data when I am at Joanne Fabrics or Hobby Lobby to download the coupons so the cashier can scan them. It may be using a lot of Mobile Data while you are at the Blog Class. I might try this before taking the computer in if it is working okay otherwise. I called Verizon and they were able to help me, but it took three calls and at least 2.5 hours on the phone before I got the person who correctly diagnosed the problem.

Yay! I felt guilty about sharing my little batch of dresses that I finished while you were unable to go at full speed. I have made only a few since I started sewing doll clothes and am thrilled that you asked us to share. Your Blog was the inspiration to get started and I’m also using it to lose a few pounds as I get so involved that I forget to snack (ha, ha) but am watching it otherwise also. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Hi Susette,
I have my phone off and don’t use it connected to my wi-fi at home. I certainly know about spending hours on the phone with Technical Support… this has been my week!!!

I welcome all and any dresses my readers have made for their dolls and it will be fun to see what everyone has come up with. I’m glad I inspired you enough to start sewing again! Wonderful news to me!
Sewing instead of Snacking… brilliant concept!
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. That was so nice of you to go somewhere so you could write you’re blog to us while having computer/internet problems. I recently went through pc/internet problems – my computer keeps freezing or not connecting. I had two computer services work on my computer and for the most part, it helped. The computer still freezes or disconnects so I need to have it looked at again. That is frustrating.
I think it would be neat to see a galley of doll pictures from your bloggers. That would be fun to share.
    Blessings!

    1. HI Paula,
I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone is working on for their doll’s Christmas dresses! I hope everyone enjoys it!
My son is a computer guru… too bad he doesn’t live at home anymore! I was just talking to him and asked him to do a few updates that the satellite people told me to do… I bribed him into looking at them on Thanksgiving and told him I’d send a Corn Casserole home with him if he did! He’ll do ANYTHING for this casserole!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Glad you are driving once again! I’m no help with the computer, but Staples fixed ours after the last Windows mess, for free.
I think sharing some pics would be fun. I, however, always behind, am still on Thanksgiving. Guess I should start on the green & red holiday soon.

    1. HI Joy,
If felt good to go somewhere by myself but I was a little nervous about driving… I had my left foot ready to hit the brake if I needed to. I’m not sure I could do the brakes with my right foot just yet…
I can’t wait to see everyone’s Christmas dresses…and don’t worry… I can spread out the dresses till later in December if need be…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. HI
Thanks for driving to the WiFi to send us your Daily blog…that was nice of you…and the will power to NOT have Pizza while there…My goodness!
Can we put dresses on our dolls that we haven’t made? I’ve received 2 through the Christmas Swap that are so cute!

    1. HI Kathie,
Absolutely add those dresses for the group to see! We’ll make this like a little Show and Tell… just give me the info about who they came from so they get credit…
Thanks Kathie… this is going to be fun…especially for me! I love looking at what everyone else is making…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Hiya Jeanne!
Great to get your blog no-matter-what!
Nice to have a computer savvy son who can check out your computer!
I have one of those too. lol
Sol is living 2 days drive away now. But we have Team Viewer (teamviewer.com) installed on both our computers so he can remotely work on mine, from his.
It’s a free program and it just takes a minute for me to text a number for a work session after we open the program. It’s very funny to watch my screen as Sol zips around (like they do) and sorts out my latest glitch.
Not sure if data problems are as easy for our gurus to fix up…
And your lad might just like the casserole promise at the next visit!
    Take care of yourself!
And I hope this data thing works out, because the photos are priceless!
    Jano 🙂

    1. HI Jano,
I’ve never heard of Team Viewer…what a neat thing to have… I might have to tell my son about it…if he hasn’t heard of it already. I need to have it installed on my mom’s computer to me or to my son…as we are always trying to help her solve something on her computer.
Thanks so much… I appreciate you telling all of us about this…
I don’t like to do a post without at least one picture, so it’s nice to be back up and running today!
      Thanks Jano,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. So glad to hear you are driving again, Jeanne! What an incredible sense of freedom, huh?!

Will have to see what pictures I might have…or I may need to take some. Certainly many of my dolls Do have Christmas outfits!!

Hope you get your computer issues straightened out. It’s no fun to have to do without. We just spent 17 hours without power (Tues/Wed.), and I was going thru serious computer withdrawal by the time the power came back on!! LOL (To say nothing of being incredibly cold…it got down to 52 in the house!)

    Charlotte

    1. HI Charlotte,
I’m SURE you have something in the way of Christmas doll dresses that you can share with us!
Once we had a power outage for 8 days and my hubby hooked up the generator so I could get on the computer… I had Ebay listings going on at the time.. It was a mess but I managed through it… but don’t want to do it again…
BBRRRRR… 52 in the house is pretty cold…
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne
