Dianna Effner 13″ Little Darlings Easter Dresses FINISHED!!!

Well, the dresses are all done, and are scheduled to go on Ebay this evening, Illinois time, at 8:46, 8:50 and 8:54…at 4 minutes apart. I hope you’ll take a peek…

Trying to get all the little pieces to these sets done all at the same time was no small feat. After I got the hats all done, I had to find felt flowers that would work for the color of each dress. I had to get the 9 sets of snaps all sewn on the dresses, then the 21 tiny decorative buttons on the waist of all the dresses, plus the 42 tiny leaves beside each tiny button. There were 12 buttons to be sewn on the backs of the dresses. I made 3 new pairs of thigh highs for each dress and just when I thought I was almost done, I realized I still needed one more slip to make it a total of 3. Needless to say, my right middle finger looks like a hole has been punched in it from all the stitching and pushing the needle through.

Then getting the girls all dressed, without any hairs dangling in their faces and their hats on straight and making sure their dresses were fluffed out with their slips, making sure there were no “loose threads” in my pictures, and then having them all stand in a row without knocking each other over was a bit tedious. It was like dressing triplets and then having a photographer come in and take their pictures.

It’s been a few years since I did a “sister” set or a “best friends” set, but it was a fun one to do. I love looking at them on my table and hope you enjoy seeing these pictures of them.

If you click on any picture, it will enlarge.

  1. Oh, so very pretty and springlike, Jeanne! I love what you did to each dress to make it stand out, but as far as which one is my favorite, there is no rhyme or reason as to why I would like one more than the other! I think you picked the right color for each doll. I had no idea you made stockings! They are adorable!

I am ready for some sun today after a dreary, rainy day yesterday! I bet those pretty little dresses helped all the clouds go away! Hope you can get the dresses listed today.

    1. Hi Linda,
Thank you so much for your compliments on the Easter dresses. I have to admit they look awfully sweet on my cutting table, just standing there so pretty like.

I am ready for the sunshine too! Spring come quickly!!!
I did manage to get them listed after a call to Ebay…
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. They look precious in their Easter gowns. The thigh highs are so cute. Hope you can get Ebay figured out. Wish I could help you, but I don’t sell on Ebay.

    1. Hi Christine,
All is well… I got it figured out and the dresses will go on Ebay this evening.
Thanks so much for your kind words about the dresses.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Your girls look adorable. I didn’t realize you made stockings either. Wow, those must be challenging. My favorite is the blue dress. I remember you used that fabric for one for Elizabeth because that dress is how I found you on EBay and then AGPT and then this blog.
I love the tiny teddy bears each girl is holding. Wherever do you find bears that are jointed and that small?

    1. Hi Laura,
Good eye, remembering that Regency dress on Elizabeth from the blue fabric. I just saw a listing on Ebay from a turquoise fabric like this and it was so adorable. Yes, I make stockings too…not very often, but these dresses needed some new ones.

I find those little bears at variety stores, ebay, etsy, yard sales (if they’re new)…all over the place. I just keep my eyes open and they pop up when I least expect it.
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I love them all but the green is so pretty and not as often used as pink and blue. Is the fabric a quilting fabric? I like it a lot. Do you make your own felt flowers or buy them somewhere?

    1. Hi Mary,
I think the green looks very pretty on Lian too! I did just see an aqua/turquoise print in the fabric and it was very pretty too. It’s a fabric that came from JoAnn Fabrics.
I have been known to cut out a felt flower or two, but generally I just search on Ebay and Etsy for die-cut wool felt flowers and there are lots to pick from in all different colors and shapes.
Thanks for your compliments on the dresses.
      Blessings, Jeanne

So happy you were able to finish all the dresses with all the details ie} snaps, buttons, leaves, felt flowers, Thigh highs !! and have such excellent pictures taken. No small feat.
Too bad eBay was being difficult. I have had that happen to me once so I do understand how frustrating that can be. Hopefully, this evening you will have success with your auctions.
We are very cloudy here today but no rain is expected – happy dance !!!

    1. Hi Jeannie,
Yes, no one is happier than I am to have them all done and just able to look at them. It really is fun to see them in person…in 3-D and look them over. I wish everyone could see them the way I do, with the clarity and the close up details so easily seen.
I did get the Ebay problem solved and they are scheduled to go on this evening. I’ve checked and double checked them to make sure I didn’t have the wrong color listed for the wrong dress. I bet I’ve proofread them 10 times each… *sigh*

The sun is shining here… I do think my Spring dresses caused the sun to come out today! Maybe you’ll have sunshine tomorrow,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Hope the Auctions go well!
Your finishing touches really set them of…and yes, sewing ion all the buttons and snaps seem to take SO MUCH Time! The thigh highs are too cute for words!

  7. Cute, cute, cute! As far as choosing a favorite, it will always be pink, and those stockings are amazing. Good job!
