Are your dolls dressed in Green? Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

My sister is visiting this weekend, so once again Susette’s and Linda’s pictures had perfect timing! I hope you enjoy today’s post!

If you girls aren’t dressed in green, there still might be time to find them something. Even if you have a green sock, cut it off and make them a sock dress. Make a “troll dress”… you know where you take a rectangle and cut 2 holes for the arms and use a safety pin in the back.

Some of you have gone all out… Susette might get the prize, but I don’t know what everyone else did, so I can’t be sure. Here are 2 of her creations…

She wanted to make a slip after my slip tutorial, so here’s her fun polka dotted tulle slip…look at those cute green panties too!

Here’s a white one for Kit and shown on Molly too…

I had to laugh; she said she had to buy a whole pack of white feathers just to get the 2 or 3 three she needed for the hat!

She made a green coat to go over the white dress and look how pretty it is with her slip underneath!

Now look closely at the fabric with Kit modeling… Susette is in California…

…and Linda is in St. Louis…she found her dress for Betsy, ready made at a little shop in Missouri…

I guess it might be the most popular Shamrock green fabric of the year…

Okay…now it’s my turn.. I don’t have any green dresses, but Kathie sent a box of goodies and this green hat was in it… Janie said she wanted to show it to everyone so they could see her new red wig again…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you, Jeanne, and all of your readers, whom I consider my friends! I just loved the little “fashion show” of green dresses,! Susette is quite a seamstress, I must say! So funny that Susette and I live so far away, yet have the same material for a doll dress!
Thanks to Kathie, you have a cute little leprechaun too!!

  2. Glad Linda and I could contribute today. My granddaughter, Riya, designed the white dress, requesting a high waist with flared skirt, puffy sleeves, ruffles and three shamrock buttons on the front. It was fun creating the outfits. Jeanne has made a dress of this fabric, too, I believe. Linda is so creative with her hat and lovely Betsy. My Mary Hoyer doll came back yesterday all in one piece with a hat like Janie’s after Kathy did a beautiful job of restringing her. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!

  3. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to everyone!
The fashion show was very fun. I knew we had some talented ladies out there, and I bet there are even more too! The fabric duplication just shows what good taste the ladies have. I think all the outfits were just beautiful.
Your little green hat is so cute on Janie.
Hope everyone has a great day filled with blessings.
    Take care.

  4. Oh how fun! Love Susette’s mix and match outfits and Linda’s Betsy dress and hat are sweet. Janie will be leading the parade today.
Corned beef is in the crockpot. All is good.
    Have wonderful green day!

  5. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to all! Loved the little Irish parade of pretty green fashions today! It must be so much fun for Susette to make Riya’s design ideas come to life so beautifully, and Linda’s Betsy is a real charmer in her darling shamrock dress that compliments her eyes so well. But leading the parade, or finishing with a flourish, Janie is the sweetest little Irish lassie ever with her new red “bob” and cute leprecaun hat! Adorable! Thank you for the lovely lead-in to St. Paddy’s Day weekend.

“For each petal on the shamrock, this brings a wish your way.
Good health, good luck, and happiness for today and everyday!”

  6. St Patrick’s Day has always been a favorite of mine. My mom was 100% Irish so we were always tuned into
Irish stories. After a Mardi Gras dance in college with my friends brother as date I sent him a St Pats day card. I guess he liked it because he called for another date….humm that was 52 years ago so I guess you can say St Patrick has been a big part of our memories. Tonight is the traditional Corned beef, potato and cabbage dinner….can’t wait.
Glad Janie likes her Irish hat!

  7. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone. Love to see the little Irish lassies on parade. Love the dresses Susette has especially the one on Felicity and Kit. She even has green shoes for some of them. Linda’s little Betsy is too cute in her little dress and hat. How funny the same fabric on both.
The closest I can come to St. Pat’s clothes for my dolls this year is Felicity in her Riding Habit with Nellie’s Irish dance shoes, but I didn’t even mange that. I’ll get it together hopefully next year.
Janie looks darling in the little top hat.
I’m a quarter Irish. We don’t eat beef , but I’ve made colcannon, and Irish soda bread and I want to make barmbrack.
and I’ll add an Irish blessing, too.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
    And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

  8. Thanks everyone, for everything from your Irish blessings to your menu for tonight. It’s always interesting to see everyone’s differences.
I’m glad you enjoyed the “showing of the green” today. This has been a super busy week and it still looks to be busy through Sunday.
2 of you sent an e-card for George and Reuben’s birthdays, but I haven’t even had a spare moment to sit down with him and show him…maybe in a little while. Thank you in advance…
Thanks everyone, for your patience even when I’m busy…
    Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Before it’s over, Happy St. Patrick’s day to everyone.
I’ve always found Kit a little tricky to dress because mine always seems to look happier in the things she likes so I hate for her to wear something she is not as happy with. I didn’t know if my Kit was unusual, but you can see that Susette’s Kit does the same thing. Look at Susette’s Kit on the stairs. There’s someone who knows what she likes and is wearing it. I do think Riya has a future in fashion.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I think you are right about Kit… she does look awfully happy in those pictures! I think ALL dolls who get new dresses smile just a little bit, even if they don’t want to.
      Blessings, Jeanne
