Another Auction Reminder…

I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, so far. We missed the worst of the storms that went through yesterday afternoon and evening. The worst of the storms went south of us… I hope everyone is okay… we are, just very, very wet!

If you needed something to cheer up your weekend, how about this picture of Linda’s girls enjoying some ice cream… Aren’t they adorable? It looks like Molly is buying! Linda, I LOVE Ivy’s light aqua set… I want one just like it!

If you click on the picture it will enlarge.

If you want to spend some money, there’s always Addy’s dress that you can bid on… (that has to be the most shameless plug I’ve ever done…)

Still, if you want, here’s the link to the auction on Ebay, that ends this evening.

“Southern Charm”

My brother and his family will be here this evening, so I’ll try my best to see you in the morning!

Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Ha!Ha! Ha! Jeanne if you take play money for Addy’s outfit, I’m buying!!! I was so surprised to see my dolls on your blog today and thank you for that! Still eating ice cream here and will for the next week or so.
That is the AG outfit that Ivy is wearing, called Summer Breeze. I saw it in person at the AG store and loved it immediately, although it won’t do for the 40’s dolls, but at least I have Ivy to wear it. It is actually a 3 piece outfit, the leggings, a knit dress and a lace overlay one, along with the cute shoes and a headband.

We had a storm yesterday too, but not as bad as advertised. I thought you had it worse than we did, since it went farther south. Yes, it is wet here too, but we will take a day without all that drama with the weather! Happy Sunday to you!!

  2. Thanks for sharing the Ice Cream Cart pictures. What a wonderful collection you have! Perfect for a holiday. I really like seeing the pictures of other collectors dolls all dressed up. Glad the storms didn’t cause damage where you are. Have a great time with family today, Jeanne, and best of luck with the wonderful Southern Charm ensemble.

  3. The pictures are wonderful. Maybe, Jeanne, all your girls should have an outfit each to stand around in. The summer outfits are very cute and Betsy’s summer dress is darling. My AGs are dressed for rain, which may hold off today.
Happy Sunday and Happy Auction. I hope this one is very exciting. I love watching good endings to your auctions.

  4. Love Linda’s ice cream cart pictures. Looks like they are having a great time. It was nice the big girls brought along alittle Betsy too.
We thought we had the shower leak problem fixed. But, no, now the entire side of the house is backed up. And it’s Sunday on Memorial Day weekend. Go figure.
Oh well, I’ve got a lovely new dolly to play with. 🙂

  5. Linda, your girls look adorable. The ice cream cart is so cute and appropriate for the 1940’s. Love Melody’s outfit on your #21 (Susan?, right). I hope someone shared with the doggies. 🙂
Yes, Jeanne, if monopoly money were an option for your lovely Southern Charm it would be mine as well as a number of your other charming creations. Actually, your dresses are very reasonably priced considering the amount of work that goes into each one, just unfortunately out of budget for me for dolly things. I’ll catch the end of your auction, I love to see what your Colonial and Civil War ones go for and live vicariously through the winner. Maybe if I had found you before I bought my PC collections I would have bid on your dresses instead of some of the PC/AG clothes (the accessories would still have been must haves). My birthday was Tuesday and I treated myself to Addy’s slide whistle from her Church Fair Fun set. I had been wanting it and it finally came up as a single item. I have a few bits of sets deliberately. I figure I can improvise and make the stage as I’ve already made the spool puppets, but the whistle would be impossible. It really makes a sound as the others do. Now I have all the whistles I wanted- Felicity’s, Kirsten’s, Samantha’s, and now, Addy’s. I have a couple maybes left on my second tier of PC wants, but nothing that can’t wait.
Hope you have a lovely Memorial Day with your brother and wishing everyone else here a great day also.

First of all, congrats, Jeanne, on a successful auction! Someone’s AG is going to love being all dressed up in it!!

Linda, I liked the picture of your dolls! I also have Molly and Betsy Mc Call, as well as the blond in the diagonally striped top (I named her April Eleanor). Love them all!

I never got Ivy, as I already have the Asian “Girl of Today” and I’m so very happy with her; got her when she first came out, maybe 15-20 years ago? (I named her AbbyRose Lian–well, SHE picked the Abby part, I did the rest! LOL)

  7. Charlotte, I too, love the Asian Girl of Today, but she was retired when I started collecting, so I got Ivy just in the nick of time, right when she retired. You must mean Susan, #21 with the diagonal striped top on? I just love her, so cute!

Yes, Linda, that’s the one I mean. When I got her, I got out about 4 of that particular doll and set them side by side in the store (we have an AG Place about 10 minutes from our house!) and compared them. The one I chose had eyes that were a somewhat deeper green than the others, and her cheeks seem to be a little less “poochy” than those of the other girls.

Even though AG dolls seem to look alike within each type, if you put several of the same one side by side, and look carefully, you will probably see some differences.
