Almost finished with Christmas Dress pictures for my dolls…

As I’ve been searching all my files for pictures of my dolls in Christmas dresses to share with you, I’ve found some that I had forgotten about. I have enough to share for 2 days, so today and tomorrow will be the last of the Christmas dresses. :o( I hope you have been inspired and blessed by seeing all of them. I actually counted how many pictures I have shared over the course of the last few weeks and there were 52 dresses to look at. That’s a lot of Christmas fabrics, laces, buttons and trims. Now I guess it’s time to think about Valentine’s Day dresses…

Up first is Kit, modeling another velvet burnout dress, this time in a dark navy. She looks very pretty in this color, don’t you think?

How about this cute little number on Isabelle… I LOVED this one and thought she looked so adorable in it…

Here is a real favorite of mine on Addy. It’s another one of those dresses that I loved and I seriously wanted to keep this one. I don’t think Addy ever looked prettier than she did in this dress.

This is Nyssa when she was very new to me. Her wig is a long Christine, by Monique, and I thought she looked so sweet…

Millie, by Kaye Wiggs, loved her photo shoot with me when we did this one. She told me it was “almost like real snow!”…

Last up is a set of 3 dresses that one lady bought from me… She wanted something like “Little Women” and this is what I came up with.
They truly were one of my favorites of all time… and I’m not just saying that this time. My pictures are just the ones I took for her so they aren’t posed like they would be in an auction…

  1. Gorgeous dresses…all of them. Beautiful work. There must be so many happy dollies out there wearing your fashions!! The Little Women dresses are beautiful.

    Have a blessed day, Jeanne!

    1. Paula,
Thank you so much for your very kind words to me about my doll dresses. I’m so glad to have you as a subscriber…(and friend)…

Jeanne, you have really taken me back to my favorite period in history. I always wanted the complete set of Little Women dolls. Your client was so very blessed to have you create these dresses for the AG dolls. So beautiful.
I have seen the green floral fabric shown on the blonde, green eyed AG a few times on your posts. I absolutely love it!! I have imagined it coordinated with navy or burgundy as shown on Nyssa. To me that is a perfect touch of color. Love it.

    1. HI Jeannie,
I love that time period too and whenever a movie is on that shows those pretty dresses, the plot of the movie goes out the window…I grab a pencil and start sketching ideas for dresses. Now my hubby is even in on it…whenever he sees fancy dresses on TV, he’ll call me and ask if these are the right styles for any of my dolls… I have him trained well, don’t I??
      Thanks Jeannie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. I agree. The Little Women dresses are stunning! I love the one on Rebecca especially. The sleeves remind me of my daughter’s Nellie’s meet dress.
Addy’s dress is lovely, too. Jeanne, you said you really wanted to keep that one. Do you EVER keep any dresses you sew because you can’t part with them? Or do you ever make anything for your dolls with the intent of keeping it? I don’t think I could sew and not have at least one pretty dress for each doll to wear always.
    God’s blessings,
    Laura

    1. HI Laura,
Rebecca’s dress has been the one that always got the compliments… It must just be her coloring or something…
No, I never keep anything for myself… I always sell them. Sometimes it is hard, but I’m a seller of dolly dresses, not a collector of them. However I do like to collect dolls…but I have to remind myself I don’t need them all. Last year I think I sold 14 dolls trying to narrow down who I really needed and didn’t need. I know seamstressses who always have something pretty on their dolls… unfortunately my dolls stand naked on the dolly shelf till it’s their time to model… such is the fate at my house…

  4. hi
The way you used the lace on the collars of those dresses is perfect for the dress styles and that period!. Just Beautiful.

    1. Thank you Kathie,
Two of those lace pieces were vintage and I’d love to find more just like them. I did see the collar on Ebay that Rebecca’s dress is trimmed with, but the collar on Ebay has a starting bid of $55! A bit steep for me…
Thanks so much for your compliments.
      Blessings, Jeanne
