A NEW Christmas Recipe ~ Nut Clusters

Kathie sent me a new recipe and said it was very good… Well, I had to give it a try and it was perfect timing, because this weekend is our Married Couples Christmas Party. I plan to put some of these Nut Clusters in my favor bags… They are super simple to make… IN A CROCK POT! It doesn’t get much easier than opening bags and dumping things in… giving it a stir every once in a while and VIOLA… out comes a wonderful candy treat! Thanks Kathie!!

I thought I’d show you how to make them…

NUT CLUSTERS

Here are the ingredients for them…

(My picture shows chocolate almond bark, but Kathie said she made hers with white almond bark….I guess you can make it whichever way you like best.)

In your slow cooker (mine was a 5 quart crockpot…) add all the ingredient and turn on LOW.

1 – 16 oz. jar dry roasted salted peanuts
1 – 16 oz. jar dry roasted unsalted peanuts
1 – 12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 – 12 oz. bag milk chocolate chips
2 – 12 oz. bags of peanut butter chips
1 – 24 oz. package of chocolate (or white) almond bark (I cut mine into pieces with a knife)

This is what it looks like when everything is added…

Stir occasionally until everything is melted….mine took just a little over an hour for everything to get all melty…

It sort of looks like chili here….

Spoon onto wax paper to cool and harden. My cookie scoop was a little over a TBSP size.

I let mine cool on the counter, but boy was it tempting to get into them…It made 140!

That’s a lot of little goodies to pack into favor bags…

Of course I had to taste them… and they were very good… I’m a big milk chocolate fan, so I might make it just like the recipe only change the semi sweet chocolate chips to another bag of milk chocolate. I think if you keep the measurements the same, just change the flavors, it would work. My hubby thought they would be good with caramel in them somehow… something like a praline… Kathie put 2 cups of toasted walnuts and 1/2 cup of slivered almonds in hers. Thank you for the recipe, Kathie… I just LOVE how easy it was to make!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Ooh, this sounds wonderful! We like cashews and macadamia nuts, so might try it with one of those!! My mouth is watering already…..

Thanks for sharing, and thanks to Kathie for sharing it with you!

    1. Glad you liked them! I think your idea of chocolate bark was good…and I didnt know almond bark came in chocolate!? …so I didn’t specify….sorry!
Next time use the white almond bark and it will cut the heavy chocolate a bit. I’m on my third batch ……they make a cookie tray extra special!

    2. Thanks Charlotte,
Chocolate or white, anyway you make it, it’s probably delicious. I have a recipe that’s similar, and I make it fairly often…it’s with white almond bark…yummy!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Yes, Jeanne, this sounds yummy! However, I have just bought everything I need for your Chocolate Mint Candy Bark, is that the name? I love that too, and am making a batch for giving out for little gifts. Everybody who eats it loves it!
I guess it’s always good to try something new, so maybe this will be the “new” recipe for this year. Thanks for sending, to Jeanne, Kathie!

Wow, your dress set is up to $177.00 already! I bet you are on cloud 9! Whoever is bidding knows what quality is and appreciates it!

    1. Hi Linda,
I’m making the mint cookie bark tonight too…it’s my very favorite!!! So glad it works for you too!!!
I AM on cloud nine…no doubt about that! I hope to “maybe” get another dress done…I don’t know how, but I really want to!!!
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Hi Paula,
The chocolate ones are good, but Kathie said she used white almond bark…I know that taste as I a similar recipe… it’s really good with the white!
I love how simple the recipe is and how much it makes!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. These certainly look worthy of the photos from Southern Living Magazine. Know someone here would be eating way too many. 🙂
    Back to the computer:
So far, the virus protection has talked to me as well as a number of other things and it’s only after 7:00am. Too many questions this early for me. I’m finding I have to enter all of my passwords again to get into most everything. I will also probably have to sign up again with you so I can respond. I’m doing this on the old one. So, it just said it wanted to shut down and restart. Ok go ahead. It seems to have a mind of its own. As to photos, I haven’t even dared to go there yet. Nothing transferred yet either. I have been using windows 10 on other persons computer upon occasion so it doesn’t seem all that much different. However, other than downloading photos on it, I haven’t done much. Time will tell…
And guess what? I heard from Geri Uribe yesterday and paid a deposit for one of her dollies. This one will be my little Hawaiian girl. So sometime in the future, another LD is coming to our house. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
The nut clusters are really addicting and I finally had to seal them up in containers!!!
You sound like you are way ahead of me on learning about the computer…I’m getting there, but I don’t have much time to fiddle with it right now…
Congrats on your new dolly coming!!! How exciting is that? …a sweet little Hawaiian girl…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Sounds delicious! I thought you might be able to use your green Search box at the upper right side of your blog to reconstruct picture files if you find you need to do that. I entered “white dresses” and all of the posts showed up. “Colonial Dresses,” “Molly pink dress,” “Felicity,” etc. Everything in that category shows up. All kind of entries worked. Aren’t you glad you have that function on your blog! I am. Maybe you already use this for your picture posts but other followers might be interested in trying it.

I mailed a package at 8:30 a.m. on Monday to WV and it is scheduled to be delivered at 10 a.m. this morning. Amazing! Hurray for the Post Office.

    1. HI Susette,
I guess I could use the search but I sometimes try and use different pictures instead of the same ones over and over. I am a little intrigued too….as my pictures were loading, I happened to see 2 pictures of a pink dress on Addy, that I don’t even remember and a burgundy one on Felicity that I wanted to get a better look at. They must not have a name and so I’m guessing they are something from my really early years. I’m hoping Kristoffer can find them for me…
I do use the “search box” fairly often and yes, I’m glad I added it. It saves me a lot of time when I’m searching for something… as I’m sure it does you…
Absolutely hurray for the post office! I sure have a couple of nice clerks who wait on me each time I’m in there…
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Dear Jeanne, I have one question and two computer suggestions.

Question: Do you still want us to send you Holiday photos of our dolls? How do we get them to you?

Suggestion 1: Have you thought of subscribing to Box to save your photos? Box is a cloud based storage option. Here is the link: https://www.box.com/home
You have to purchase the service but you can store large quantities of data.

Suggestion 2: Have you thought of purchasing an external hard drive? This is a device that attaches to your computer on which you simply store what you want. It’s kind of a back up for what you have on your computer. If your computer has a problem, the material on the external hard drive stays put. Here’s a link to some information:
    https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Electronics-External-Hard-Drives/zgbs/electronics/595048

I didn’t think about this until last night or I would have mentioned it earlier.

Thanks always for giving us a doll forum in which we can chat.

    1. HI Dorothy,
Yes, you may still send your dolly pictures in some Christmas fashions to me… my email address is jeannewiedlocher@gmail.com

My computer came with something where I have 26 G of storage for pictures. I may check into it… and I do have an external hard drive already.. which is almost full. Kristoffer said he’d get me all fixed up, but just didn’t have time to do it all on Saturday. He at least showed me how to do my pictures by removing the SD card from my camera… I’ll have to upgrade to a new camera eventually, but for now this works…
Thanks so much Dorothy, for your concern over the computer issues and for your kind encouragement. :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

With my current camera, I always remove my SD card and put it into the computer! However, my older digital camera had a different-sized card (which, of course, fit into my Old computer, that I no longer have! LOL), so I have to use a cable with that. Either way works, though, and doesn’t take too long. However, I have learned to label my photos on my computer AFTER I disconnect the camera or remove the card–otherwise I don’t see that picture in my camera! It’s still there–I still see it in a computer–but just not in my camera. Very weird….
