A few odds and ends…

First of all, yesterday was pretty exciting for me. My post (HERE) was about a little doll named Ten Ping, manufactured by the Ruby Red Galleria company. I asked them a question about the Four Kindergarten dolls (which are adorable too…) and the next thing I know, they had my blog post up on their facebook page. Talk about fun for me to see… I was shouting about it to my hubby and he didn’t have a clue what I was talking about….but he SOON learned!
Thanks so much Ruby Red Galleria… you more than Made My Day!

You can click HERE to see their facebook page. It’s the second entry down on the right hand side.

Next up… remember the two little girls I made “prototype” dresses for? These were just my trial “flower girl” dresses to get the patterns to fit perfectly before I cut into the wedding fabric. They decided to use the dresses for Easter. I wanted to show you how sweet they looked in them. I just have to make a tiny shoulder tweak on the littlest girls dress.

Aren’t they going to make adorable little flower girls?

I was working on a dress tonight, but my satellite is down to 1% (ugh!) so my pictures aren’t loading quick enough to post anything else. My data gets reloaded on Thursday, so it will be slim pickins till then.

But, I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. What adorable little girls to sew for, Jeanne! They look so much alike, except for the hair color! Those dresses look adorable and comfortable, at the same time! I think keeping them simple is the rule of the day when dressing little girls, so as to let their personalities shine through those pretty smiles!

About Ruby Red Galleria, I thought that company was just a wig company! They do make adorable dolls, and Ten Ping is so cute! While I don’t collect other kinds of dolls besides AG, I did get Ivy, the now discontinued Chinese friend of Julie, and love how she looks in everything I put her in. It’s fun to have different kinds of dolls to dress! Some days I feel like 1800’s and then some days more like now.

Congrats for being featured in the Ruby Red website! You are getting the recognition you deserve!

    1. HI Linda,
The older girl is my niece’s daughter and the tiny little girl is my nephew’s daughter. Now that I’ve seen pictures of them, and have my seat secured in my brother’s van to ride to PA, I am anxious to get the “real” flower girl dresses made.

I know not everyone wants a little doll like Ten Ping, but I thought I’d give her a try and see how things go. I’ve had a few Asian dolls… 8″ little An Mei, 14″ Song, and now my Lian. I think Ten Ping will be a great little sister for Lian.

      Thanks so much Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Christine… It was a wonderful thing for them to do…
Yes, the girls do look awfully sweet… I can’t wait to get the Flower Girl dresses done and see them in the “real thing.”
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. How exciting! It’s amazing how things spread around; sometimes even to places we don’t want them to though. But, this is good, no GREAT!!!
Those little girls in your dresses are as sweet as can be!!! Your dresses fit them so well. It is crazy that you didn’t even have the girls nearby for fittings. They will be adorable in their flower girl dresses and they just might steal some of the limelight away from the bride.

    1. HI Cindy,
Well, I never woke up yesterday morning expecting that to happen, but it was sort of fun!!!
Thanks for your compliments on the girls dresses. Now that I know they are almost right, I’m ready to tackle the wedding fabric!
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. How exciting to be on Red Galleria’s website! And the little girls look absolutely adorable in your dresses. What cuties. They look so sweet modeling them. Great job on the dresses. I agree with Cindy- you made the dresses without the girls being nearby and they fit so well.
Have a great and progressive day! Blessings!

    1. Thank you Paula,
I have to admit it…it was fun to see my blog post on their site!
Well, it took me 2 tries for Nora’s dress, but I guess that’s not too bad.
I’m hoping to get some sewing done today… I don’t have any errands to run and so it’s time to just sew! YAY!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I got really excited when I saw your blog on Ruby Red! I am very proud of you!

Love the girls in their dresses, so cute!

I hate it when my satellite allowance runs dry…very very slow…

    1. HI Jane and thank you for leaving a comment on their facebook page too! That was very nice of you to do! I had 103 hits yesterday on my post and 5 were from Hong Kong… all different and all first timers. That was fun to see.
Yes, I can’t wait till tomorrow night at midnight when my satellite data gets refilled. It’s like dial up when it all runs out…
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. So adorable, Jeanne, even without a ‘shoulder tweak’. Yes, they will be the perfect flower girls.
Of course I wend to RRG on Facebook and left you a message. What an honor for you and well deserved! I hope the mention of your blog on their website brings lots more readers!
    And buyers!

    1. Hi Jevne,
Thanks so much for your comments on RRG too. I do appreciate it! I know one thing… I need to get busy sewing so I have something to show you all!
      Thanks again, Blessings, Jeanne

  6. HI Jeanne,
The Floral dresses turned out so sweet! Isn’t it cute how little girls just brighten up when they know they look especially nice? The wedding should be super fun for them!
    You are a special Aunt!
    Take care!

    1. Hi Kathie,
My sister told me when Hannah got her dress, (the blue one) she wouldn’t stop twirling… I’m sure they’ll both be twirling at the wedding too…
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Looked forward to see the nieces in their dresses. They will be a great addition to the wedding. Congratulations for the RRG mention and your new readers. How nice for you!

    1. Thank you Jan,
It was fun for me to see my blog post on RRG… I have to admit it!
…and yes, don’t they adorable? I’m spurred on to get their “real” dresses made now.
      Blessings, Jeanne
