A couple of clues for who’s getting the next Easter dress…

So here’s the thing… I was busy today… I updated my “My Dolls” page. It took me a long time as I hadn’t updated it since 2014! YIKES! I almost forgot how to do it. I deleted all the pictures of the dolls I’ve sold and only have the ones shown that are standing on my doll shelf. If you want to check out my dolls you can see them HERE. You can also click on the “My Girls” tab just under my header and it will take you there too.

I have some plans to update my Gallery too…but couldn’t today. I want to show all of the dresses I made by the year… sort of like the posts I did where I showed you everything in 2015 and 2016. It will take some time too, so don’t look for it tomorrow… I’ll let you know when I finish it.

Now, don’t look at my pictures today and say, “What was she thinking?”…it’s my lighting. I wouldn’t have gone to all the trouble of making one of these little hats if it didn’t match the fabric. It’s a pretty light colored lavender or maybe lilac… It’s 11:00 at night and I only turned on one light over my cutting table… big mistake… You’ll see more in a day or two and see what I mean.

So these are your hints… the fabric; you’ve seen this before on Eden.

Here is Eden modeling her dress made from this fabric.

This is your second clue… a sweet little handmade straw hat, decorated in the colors of the fabric… You’ve seen this color hat braid on a set for Lian…

This is Lian in her hat made from this braid…

(I took this picture again so you could see the color a little better.) The third clue is a sweet resin Easter basket that’s sure to please any little girl.

The last clue is the white Swiss batiste lace I plan to use on this dress. I’m 95% sure this is the one I’m using…

Well, I hope these clues will hold you over till tomorrow..and if you want to guess who’s next, be my guest!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. I was rooting for Addy, but she usually doesn’t wear lavender, but she’d look nice in it, I think. The flowers would suit Willa, another of my choices. Of course, I could just name all of your dolls — then I’d be sure of being right.

Looking again at the Previous Auction dress — I wonder if that waist and sash might be really nice on a Victorian dress. I do like your Victorian headpieces — I think everyone else seems to too. Perhaps not in this fabric — you have a design chosen for it — but another, maybe in summer, or with long sleeves, in early fall. And a layered slip, like Janie’s, under it.

No snow here yet, but it could still happen. The commuters will be happier with later rather than sooner.

    1. HI Marilyn,
It’s not Addy… but that was a good guess. It is time for another Civil War dress…but then again…it’s “always” time for a Civil War dress to me! :o)
I like that sash on my last dress too and think I’ll use that again sometime. It made the dress very flattering.
Oh, I hope the snow holds off and you get the best early Spring ever!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      blessings, Jeanne

  2. I was going to guess Elizabeth but I’m not confident in my choice. I’ll just have to be surprised when you announce who the dress is for. I will say that I think the fabric is lovely — so springy. And I am in love with the little basket with the bunny. I am quite taken with the hat too. The flowers coordinate so nicely with the pattern on the dress.
    Have a good day!
    Take care.

    1. HI Charlotte,
Thanks for the compliments on the few hints I gave you. Not much to go on, but you’ll know soon enough. The fabric is very springy and very lightweight…almost like a lawn and it’s a dream to work with!
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. I’m guessing a Wellie! Because the basket may be too big for Ten Ping. Love this print so it will look fabulous on any dolly.
Lots of rain here again. We’re breaking a record I think with this storm. Enough, please.

    1. HI Joy,
Thanks for your guess…but I can’t spill the beans just yet, so you’ll have to wait…
I like this fabric very much too…it’s wonderful to work with.
I hope your stormy weather and rain come to an end soon.. I’m sure you aren’t alone in hoping it’s over sooner than later…
      Thank you Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. What pretty material and knowing a hat will go with it and the adorable basket, I want to say Molly or maybe whichever doll stands in for Kit. I was thinking of Kirsten’s dirndl outfits but it’s a little too modern and bold for that. Also maybe the Wellie doll.
Whoever it’s for, it will be adorable. Can’t wait to see what you get done for the preview.

    1. HI Paula,
I was just sitting here debating about what to do. I need to take my mom to Walmart, I just got an email letting me watch more of those business and blogging videos, I need to work on ________’s dress, I need to put a color on my hair, I wanted to try out a new paint for my living and dining room, and I need to do dishes… such a dilemma…what to do…

I’m glad you can see some kind of beauty in those pictures I posted in today’s blog. I need add… take new pictures…to my list of things to do too!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Boy, Jeanne, do I feel your pain, about what to do!! I have an awful lot on my plate this weekend, and can’t begin to think of who you are making this adorable outfit for! The hat does look different in most all pictures, so I wonder what color it really is. Is it tan? I love the print fabric, for some reason, I think of jelly beans when I see it! Crazy!

OK, I’m off to frost cupcakes for our church fish fry tonight, and to get them up there. Also preparing for our son and his family of 3 boys to spend the next week here on spring break. Of course with them, no dolly talk, and no visit to American Girl!!

    1. Hi Linda,
Busy, busy, busy…it’s hard to find someone who’s not.
I hope your cupcakes turned out perfect and I bet you wouldn’t have to do much to welcome your family…I’ve seen your kitchen before and I know you are a neat freak…don’t take that wrong…it’s just that I’m sure you could teach me a thing or two.
Thanks Linda, the sun still isn’t out here…hope it’s still shining there…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Cute, colorful clues. Can’t wait to see who will be adorned in the pretties you’ve shown us.

    Blessings.

    1. Hi Becky,
I need to add “take better pictures” to my to do list. They look pretty pathetic., but thanks anyway…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Whoever gets this dress will be ready for Easter . Since the last one was for a LD and her sweet fiend it will probably be for an AG (?) ?
The fabric, trim, hat and flowers look lovely together so it will be a knockout!
    Enjoy your weekend!

    1. HI Kathie,
Well, I am just getting ready to write my post for tomorrow, so you’ll soon see who the dress is for…
Thank you so much for your kind words…and those little velvet flowers… they are on her hat… did you see them? Thanks so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne
