A Box, a Bluebird, and Blessings…

Thank you to my 4 new subscribers… Glenda, Eula Mae, Lynn and Kate! I’m so glad you have joined and hope you’ll make yourself right at home… my readers are wonderful and they’ll make you feel special…

I received a box in the mail… and I’m not sure how or WHO instigated it, but I LOVE it… Somehow, several of you must have gotten together and conspired to make me feel better by sending me this little gift… IT WORKED! I’m much better now and hope I’m almost back to normal.

This is what came… the sweetest box and I didn’t have a clue what was inside… It was about the size of a coffee mug, so I guessed that’s what it was… NOPE… not even close…

…a sweet little ceramic bluebird was inside.

He had a paper scroll rolled up that fit just under his feet in a slot. When unrolled, this is what it said…

There was a sweet card too…

Awwww…thank you ALL so much! I truly have the kindest readers and feel so blessed to know you all. You are such a part of my life now, I’m not sure I’d know what to do if I didn’t have this blog to talk to everyone! I’m going to put my birdie in my kitchen window, and think of everyone while I’m doing my dishes and cooking. When I see him, it will remind me of you and I’ll whisper a blessing over you all when I think of your name! Thank you for your sweet love to me!

Now, I have 3 “picture hints” for you… I thought I was completely done with Molly’s dress, but I forgot… I still need to make a slip!

I hope those 3 hints give you enough to go on till you see the final pictures!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Molly’s Easter outfit is going to be beautiful! Her little hat looks like it will be especially sweet–love the trim you used on it!!

What a lovely surprise from you readers/friends! I’d call that a “bluebird of happiness”, since it did make you happy!! Glad you are feeling better, too!

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
I’m glad you like Molly’s set so far…
Yes, that little bird IS my bluebird of happiness!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. My goodness, Jeanne, what a sweet little surprise from those wonderful ladies! Doesn’t it make you feel loved and appreciated? You are a blessing to all of us, and it’s nice that you get to know how we feel about you!
Oh, Molly’s Easter outfit is going to be darling! The hat is so pretty with the pink trim and flowers, and the collar, just so perfectly embellished, and the little lace gloves, so elegant for Molly! Count me in as one who can’t wait to see the finished outfit!

    1. Hi Linda,
Yes, oh, yes, my new little bird really does make me feel loved and so special! I am quite humbled at the thoughtfulness!!!
Oh, I wish I had had time to get it all finished, but I had to split my time between the kitchen at church and my kitchen. I’m baking cookies for little favor bags for my mom to pass out at the place she now lives. I tried but couldn’t get it all done…
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. What a wonderful surprise! We don’t know what we would do without you too!

    Take care.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
…and what would I do without all of you????
I’ll try to hurry and get it finished…

  5. Can’t wait to see the rest of the hat. Looks to be a perfect match for the dress.
Monday already and Valentine’s Day Wednesday. A beautiful week ahead. Now, if we could have some rain thrown in, but it looks like another 10 days without. 🙁

    1. Hi Joy,
I’ll try my best to get this finished as soon as I can… it’s really cute and sweet on Molly…
I’m working on Valentine bags for my mom to hand out at Liberty Village….hopefully tomorrow.
      Thanks Joy,

  6. Good Monday Morning Jeanne!
What a sweet little bluebird and such thoughtful readers/friends too. You are loved and missed when you take a break that certainly is clear!
An other gorgeous outfit… I love the peeks you gave us. I see a hint of a lacy vest.. so sweet. That cute little bonnet matches and looks just perfect with the dress. Those gloves are the sweetest! Well done

    1. Hi Ingrid,
I don’t deserve the sweetness of my readers, but it sure feels wonderful…
I’m glad the tiny little *hints* I gave you were enough to keep you interested!
      Thanks Ingrid,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. You can keep your bluebird companion in your sewing room, or your bedroom, or in your wonderful new kitchen (once it’s wonderful and new). It will make you feel good every time you see it.

You made Molly an Easter bonnet! I’ll bet she loves it almost as much as her new petticoat. You do make great petticoats. Remember when little girls wore Easter gloves? It’s going to be wonderful to see the complete outfit.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Sorry, I was making cookie bark and baking cookies…but I’m back now.
Yes, I love my little birdie and I truly will think of my readers when I look at him…or maybe it’s a her!
I didn’t get her slip made today…but maybe tomorrow…I’m glad you’re liking the looks of things so far!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. In love with all the peeks of details on the dress and hat. Can’t wait to see what the pink lace will be like?
A Happy Monday for you looking at that sweet little Tweety bird!

    1. Thanks Kathie,
Well baking for my mom overtook my evening and helping George in the church overtook my day, so I have no slip to show you…boo hoo…
      Maybe tomorrow!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. What a wonderful surprise, your own “little bluebird of happiness”. He will look sweet on your kitchen window sill. It’s the perfect place. My grandmother always had three items on hers and I now have them all. They were a blue glass vase about three inches tall with etchings of flowers, a small inch and three quarters at best painted one with a gold rim. I am told this one is a turn of the century Victorian posy vase and a Hummel laughing bunny. I’ve never seen a bunny like it They are all very precious to me. I remember my grandfather would come in from the backyard in the spring and bring snowdrops, scillias, crocus, grape hyacinths- anything that herald spring and put them in the vases. I lived very close as a young child and the schoolbus dropped me there after school.
Oh my, Molly’s dress is going to be lovely. The bonnet with its scalloped edge looks fantastic and the gloves. Love the embroidery on her collar as well. It adds a special touch. Can’t wait to see how this one finishes off. Molly will certainly look pretty for Easter Sunday.

    1. Ho Laura,
You always paint the sweetest pictures of your family life and traditions you carry on…I love reading about them!
Thanks for the compliments on Molly’s dress set. I wish I had been able to get her slip made today, but I had to work on some Valentine treat bags for my mom that were going to pass out tomorrow.
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. What a lovely thoughtful gift, Jeanne. How sweet your readers are. You are a blessing to us and we enjoy everyone’s visits daily or when they can.
Love the hints of Molly’s outfit. They are so darling from what I can see. Can’t wait to see them whole!!

    1. Thank you Paula,
You certainly got it right when you mentioned my sweet readers! I truly am so blessed!!
I’ll try to hurry up and get Molly’s dress finished!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. What a beautifully coordinated ensemble! One little detail compliments the next. I was saying, “Oh, my gosh” over and over. I should be used to your surprises by now but the pink bow was unexpected. My favorite!

What a nice gift from the ladies. A constant reminder of your love and friendship.

    1. I’m so glad Susette mentioned the bow. I have a beautiful necklace that belonged to the mother of a friend — and it’s plastic. My friend was my mother’s age and her mother was born in 1888. When plastic came out it was new and exotic, and by 1944 should have been perfect for Molly. Another perfect touch for this outfit.

    2. I thanks so much for your kind comments, Susette,
I’m glad you like the bow…I didn’t have any ribbon the right color and when I saw the button was a perfect match, I decided to go for it.
I truly do have the best ladies and a few gents for subscribers!!! I am so blessed!
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. Dear Jeanne, Hello. Don’t you just love elephants in the mailbox! What a great surprise you received. Birds of a feather… You are our leader bird (or whatever the correct terminology is – smile).
I love the touches on the new dress. I am sure it will be darling when it’s finished.

    1. HI Dorothy,
I DO love surprise gifts in the mail… who doesn’t? I feel very special by everyone’s kindness toward me! I am truly blessed!
Glad you are enjoying Molly’s dress… hang on… it’s almost done!
      Blessings, Jeanne
