A bit late, but you’ll enjoy these costumes…

PLEASE NOTE:
The Christmas dress I made to fit the 10″ Boneka dolls ends this evening on Ebay. If you’d like to take a peek at “Christmas Sparkle” you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

This is the dress in case you missed it…

I bet you were expecting to see Molly’s dress all finished and maybe even listed on Ebay… Me too, but it didn’t happen… life did! There’s always tomorrow! :o)

Now, I know Halloween is over but a few of you made costumes and I never got a chance to share them…

First up is Joy’s sweet Stella May and Sophie Mae… I just LOVE this picture of them… and I bet you will too!

Then Joy also sent me a picture of her daughter, hubby and grandkids… They were dressed as Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Even Lucy the cat was dressed! I bet they had so much fun!

Next is Susette’s dolls from last year…Making these costumes kept her very busy…I’m sure!

I’m sure everyone recognizes Harry…(but did you recognize that was Molly under that mask?)

A couple of sweet girls in green…one as a butterfly and one as a mermaid… A Little Darling and Betsy McCall… did you recognize them?

A couple of Flapper Girls…

And Molly sporting her Aviator look!

These were the tablecloths Susette shared with us… did anyone make a set for your dolls?

She also bought these costumes for her granddaughter and grandson and said sometimes her grandson, Krish likes to put his one when he’s doing FaceTime with grandma.

Somehow Molly got left out… Here she is as the Sweet Little Witch, I’m sure! :o)

Oh, and this was Molly’s party from last year… You can see EVERYONE in this picture…

Next up are a couple doll costumes from Julia… She said she had a kind of “cape thing” going on with her girls…She called Elizabeth’s cape a cobweb cape… good name, don’t you think? Cecile is dressed in her velveteen cape as Little Red Riding Hood. Thank you Julia… sorry I’m so late posting these…

And up last is April Eleanor. Charlotte has been working like crazy trying to get her costume finished and now I can show it to you. She did send it a few days ago, but I’m just now getting these all together in one post. April Eleanor told Charlotte she wanted to be a nurse… Looks like she got her wish! Isn’t she sweet? One of Charlotte’s friends dressed her doll up and they are in the second picture together…

Charlotte found her background fabric in her stash and thought it worked well… me too!

Thank you everyone for sending your pictures my way to share! Hopefully it will be my turn to share next! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What a fun post!! Love Stella May and Sophie Mae–so cute!! Enjoyed seeing all the other dolly costumes, too. I have Molly’s aviator costume, actually–my husband (who was born in 1933) remembers having a leather pilot’s helmet like that when he was a little boy. Then back in the late 80s/early 90s, when I worked for Eddie Bauer, they had a real leather aviator helmet very similar to what Ron had, so I bought it for him for Christmas! He was thrilled!!

Okay, back to costumes….Susette’s dolls all look so cute, but I think my favorite picture of hers is the mermaid and fairy. So cute! Was the fairy outfit a Betsy McCall one? It looks vaguely familiar.

The party scene was adorable, too; so much to look at there!!

Julia’s girls were adorable in their costumes, too. Capes are good: I have a few of them for my AG dolls, also!

My favorite, though, is the one of Joy’s daughter and family, as characters from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I love that movie!!!

By the way, April Eleanore has kind of a big head tonight, because her picture was on your blog! She can’t wait to tell Annie (the girl in the Halloween dress) next time she sees her!

Thanks to everyone for sharing pictures!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
Wasn’t it fun seeing all the costumes in one post? Even though its past a holiday, I think everyone still enjoyed it.
Just between the few of us on here, we had quite a few dolls to share, didn’t we?

Tell April Eleanr she can make an appearance whenever she likes…and it’s okay for “dolls” to get a big head when they’re seen round the world.
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Jeanne, I love it when you have pictures to share from others! This one is no exception, and I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s dolls dressed up, and yes, Joy’s beautiful and creative family! I bet they had loads of fun that day and will remember it always! That movie was a favorite at our house and we always watched it over and over!

Stella May and Sophia Mae remind me of two little Munchkins! So cute and innocent looking! I’m sure they had their bags completely full at the end of the night! Hopefully no tummy aches later!

Oh goodness, Susette always knocks it out of the box with her creations and setups! I love those tablecloths she made, and all the wonderful costumes she displays. I love that scene she created of all the dolls gathered around the tables! Charlotte, yes, that is a Tinkerbell outfit on Betsy McCall, and it might look familiar because, I too, had that costume on Betsy in the pictures I sent. Maybe that’s why it was familiar to you.

Julia’s girls look adorable, and I love the crocheted hat and cape Elizabeth is wearing. Cecile makes a darling Little red Riding Hood! Did you make both of them?

Charlotte’s April Eleanor looks so professional and takes me back to the days when nurses wore white. Yes, I guess I’m that old! I’m just guessing here, but was that second picture taken at an AG store? I bet they had fun shopping for themselves!! 😉

All in all, this was fun and cheerful way to start the day! Thank you Jeanne and everyone!

    1. Hi Linda,
I’m sure Joy’s family had fun getting dressed up for that picture. I bet they’ll be talking about it for years.
It is always fun to see what everyone has their dolls dressed up in, no matter what the occasion…
I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
      Blessings, Jeanne

Yes, Linda, that second picture was taken at the AG store in Alderwood Mall, Lynnwood, WA. Marika and I always enjoy looking at all the displays!

  3. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, all of the dolls look adorable, all decked out in their costumes.

I love Joy’s “real” dolls in their costumes. What a lovely family.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
Wasn’t it fun to scrutinize Joy’s family picture? I know they had fun finding things for it…even little Lucy’s hat…
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. As I started to scroll down to see what magic would appear this morning, I saw the bricks and thought, those look familiar. And ha ha they were. Stella May and Sophie Mae are saying thank you for the notoriety. 🙂
Going backwards, I love the nurses outfit and hat that Charlotte made. So reminds me of my mother in law who did wear the white and her special school cap throughout her nursing career. Sophie just told me that she wants to be a nurse next year for Halloween. 🙂
Susette’s team and decorations are fabulous. Love all of the special costumes. And yes and no on making the tablecloths. I bought the cool spider fabric and orange flannel underlay, and was all ready to work on a tablecloth when the winds and fire happened. Everything stopped as we packed up and then had no power. So, I’m saving the photo so I can start early next year. Yours are lovely Susette, and such a great idea.
Julia’s girls look like they had a wonderful Halloween. Did you crochet the witch hat? Love it and the little treat bag too.
I wonder if anyone is going to decorate for Thanksgiving this year? I know some who are already pulling out Christmas to have that ready for Turkey Day. Might work. 🙂 Thanks for sharing all of the fun photos everyone and Jeanne. Just think in two days, at least I think you said the 8th, you will have even more vision without glasses. 🙂

    1. Thank you for sharing your pictures, Joy.
You can tell your daughter their family was a big hit here… they certainly got their 15 minutes of fame today.
So Sophie has already decided she wants to be a nurse next year? How funny…

I am looking forward to Friday very much…I can’t wait until I can see clearly…near AND far. I can see clearly about 3 feet in front of me then it starts getting blurry. George has been my chauffeur this week.
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. How fun it is to see everyone’s pictures. Such creative ladies and such wonderful costumes on their girls.
Joy’s two little ones looking up at the camera is just two precious. When answering the door to hand out candy, that’s what you see- little faces looking up. And Joy’s family picture is sensational! What a lovely family and so creative with the Chocolate Factory theme!
Suzette’s group of girls in their costume’s are fabulous. So elaborate too. Her displays are always so interesting. The tablecloths are so neat – the orange underneath with the black lace, perfect for Halloween. I love all her costumes but Molly’s witch costume is so cool.
I’m sure her grandchildren are absolutely thrilled with their costumes. Very unique!
Julia’s knitted cape is so clever! A spider web!! And the knitted ( or crochet) hat! I almost missed that.
And lastly, Charlotte’s nurse outfit. April Eleanor looks adorable in it. She even has a little nurse pin! Charlotte’s friend’s witch’s costume is cute too. Mask and all.
It’s always so much fun seeing everyone’s pictures of their girls in costumes – thank you Jeanne for posting them.

    1. Hi Paula
Yes, we really do have some creative ladies around here. I so enjoy it when I can share a bunch of “creativeness” all in one post.

I meant to mention April Eleanor’s nurses pin. How cute was that little detail.
I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing all te pictures today. Hope you are all unpacked.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Joy’s Stella May and Sophie Mae are absolutely the cutest and Joy knows just how to pose them to make the most of their innocent looks. And what a beautiful family Joy has! Her daughter is lovely. What a wonderful idea for costumes involving the whole family. How did they ever get the cat to sit so still for the picture?!

Susette’s girls all look wonderful in their costumes. Her set-up for the party is great. Everyone looks like they are having the best time. No I did not do the wonderful table covers this year. Maybe next year I will forgo all other sewing to make sure my dolly children have an appropriate Halloween experience. Being of Celtic heritage it’s one of my favorite holidays. My dolly children are skeptical of that. They say they have no evidence of such.

Julia’s girls look so cute. And the “cobweb” cape is definitely the perfect name for it. I love the hat too. Cecile’s cape is lovely and would also be perfect over a beautiful Christmas frock. Double duty is always good.

April Eleanor reminded me of my mother who passed away in 2007. She was a nurse during the days when they all wore white and always had their caps on. She was also an Army nurse. When she passed away my sister’s gave me her flag because I was the oldest. My mother had a navy blue cape also, and I loved seeing pictures of her and her fellow nurses from her days in the service dressed from head to toe in white with their navy blue capes. They were all so pretty.

All the Halloween costumes reminded me of the year I made my son a Ninja Turtle costume. He was in either third or fourth grade. Many moons ago. I also remember that it was bitter cold that evening, which was probably the last time it was really cold here on Halloween until a repeat performance this year. I drove him around town. I would park the car, he would run to four or five houses and jump back in the car and we’d move on. The costume was one of the best I’ve ever seen. All the parts were made separately and the shell was made out of felt and stuffed. Hubby came home from work that Halloween and I had all the pieces laid out on the living room sofa waiting for Sean to put them on. He said, “Oh I see we’re having turtle soup for supper”.

Unfortunately the weather here at Halloween is unpredictable. Still thinking like a Yankee weather-wise when my kids were small, I made my daughter a Funshine Care Bear costume, complete with stuffed head. It was so hot that evening she went around with her head under her arm. A headless Care Bear. A bit morbid but still hilarious.

Thanks so much, Jeanne, for posting these wonderful pictures. As for timing, well when I send pictures I leave the what and when up to you. I’m just grateful that you post them when you get a chance. I love seeing what everyone is up to.

    1. Hi Barbara,
I agree with you on how good Joy is s posing her girls. They truly look like they just rang the doorbell and are saying Twick or Tweet in little kiddo voices.
Sometimes it’s too much to make outfits for all the dolls for all the holidays. Maybe concentrate on one holiday each year until you build up a grouping of costumes for everyone. Of course theres always the problem of “new” dollies joining your family each year… :o)
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Everyone looked socutein their costumes! I saw lots of things gs that gave me some good ideas. I made everything my dolls are wearing. All the yarny things are crochet.
Guess call is over. We have snow and it’s going to be below freezing for the rest of the week so it’s staying. I need to adjust every year.

    1. Hi Julia,
I was pretty sure you made everything your girls were wearing. Thanks for sharing! :o)
Snow? I still want there to more time for Fall..
      Blessings ,Jeanne
